Went and shot it today. The only knock I could say about it was how heavy the bow is compared to other bows. The draw cycle and back wall were awesome.
I have shot Hoyt for 20 years, I went and shot the first Mathews I have shot in many many years. The Halon 32-6 has got to be the best shooting bow I have ever shot. I have a shoulder issue and this bow is so smooth and easy to draw. Im not even going to wait on the new bows for 2018 to come out, The Halon 32-6 will be my next bow. No Im not a paid shooter.
Rich Valentine Hey Rich, did you get your halon? Having a tough time deciding between 2018 triax and halon 32. Would like to know what you think if you picked one up.
Shot the halon 32 and the bowtech reign 6, realm and realm x, absolutely loved the the realm x my buddy and I are going to order the bowtech realm x, but I will say that although the feel and balance of the halon was a bit off my buddy shot awsome groups with it. But at the end of the day the accuracy, balance and super smooth draw of the bowtech for both of just couldn't be beat. Its all subjective so if you can get to one of your archery shops try out these great bows your going to love all the new technology and one will surely stand out as the best for you.
psychoticguns it's an amazing bow. Everything I loved about the halon but in a more stable ATA and better sting angle. I order mine in stone and it took about a month to come in. I'm shooting a t handle so I went up to a 30DL hit perfect. Spitting a 433gr arrow at 312fps producing 92-93K/E. Enjoy your bow when u get it.
I have never shot the Hoyt Pro Defiant so I can't compare the Halon 32 to it. Hoyt also makes an excellent bow. Find a pro shop which sells both brands and decide for yourself. I really liked the Halon 32 but it is always a personal choice.
I’ve been shooting a defiant 34 for 2 years. I love it but tuning has been a chore constantly. When it’s in tune it it’s effortless. When it’s out of tune... you got ur hands full. I’m keeping it but it’ll be relegated to a 3D bow because my new halon 32 is a bad bitch.... I spank her a lot. She’s hot tho... you get the point.
I’d say if you are drawing 80 now then 70 should feel extremely comfortable. The speed differential is minimal. It’s all about comfort and accuracy. More comfortable draw = less tension in ur body= more accuracy = more blood on ur knees!
Confused? Did you want to hit way to far back? Cuz the vitals were not close to where your arrow hit. Congrats on killing the buck, but would not have said the arrow hit exactly where you wanted it to.
Jamie, that was exactly where I wanted my arrow to hit. With a severe quartering away angle your point of entry is much farther back than you would expect. I was also 25' up in the tree. The path of the arrow drives it all the way through the body cavity. After gutting my deer, it was confirmed that my shot dead-centered the liver and went straight up through the entire right lung before it stopped just inside the hide at the front of the shoulder. It is a devastating shot. One note of caution on this shot; it takes precise shot placement and requires more energy than a more preferable broadside or quartering away shot. So I don't recommend it for everyone. Have a good hunting season.
I thought that was a ballsy shot and a perfect hit. At that angle he prob pierced diaphragm, hit liver and at least one lung if not both. Kill shot all day every day.
Amazed that deer was asleep right next to you the entire time. I bet it's deaf. I've heard that can happen to them. Poor deers.

Well done I like the way you end this video. Nothing like a Mathews. They give you confidence

Bowhunter D2 have not put picked one up yet, want to try the Triax myself.
Rich Valentine thanks man, always preferred the opinion of the average guy versus paid spokesperson. Good luck and happy hunting.
Rich Valentine just got one today! Got a deal because it was one of the last ones 700 out the door.
I want it!!! It is definitely on my list. Mathews is the best!
Really a fantastic video. Thanks for taking the time to make and post
Love the blood on knee brother! Looks like victory!

Great review. I'm trying to decide between the Halon and the Halon 32. Nock pinch is a good point you talked about. Thanks.
Trading my halon 6 in for for this bow. Being 6 1 and a 29DL I'm hoping for a better sting angle. Loved the halon. Looking to get this bow in my hand.
86keen same here man I'm 6-5 with a 31" draw can't wait till my halon 32 7 is in.

Knotless D-loops prevent most of if not all string pinch.
86keen you'll lose so much trading it in.
Good review. Was the dead deer laying there necessary though?
Allow me field this one please... yes... yes it was.
How does this fair with the Hoyt Pro Defiant I'm deciding between these 2

Did you get that Black gold housing camo dipped.
Great review :)
Thank you. We enjoy bringing these to our visitors and sincerely hope archers find them easy to understand and useful.
is the poundage and draw length adjustable.
Ur lucky u found that buck hitting it that far back with that steep of a quartering away angle
Hey Pat.. What draw weight u normally hunt with?
David, I always hunt with a 70lb draw weight and fixed blade heads
does 70 draw weight make a difference from 80 draw weight
I’d say if you are drawing 80 now then 70 should feel extremely comfortable. The speed differential is minimal. It’s all about comfort and accuracy. More comfortable draw = less tension in ur body= more accuracy = more blood on ur knees!
Cant afford it
