Pre-disco Bee Gees To love somebody, Holiday, First of May, How can you mend a broken heart, Gotta get a message to you, Lonely Days and I started a Joke. Love your reactions ❤❤
I love pre-Disco BeeGee most of all. My favorite song? To Love Somebody. I played my 45 record over and over so much, it drove my mother crazy 😵💫 Luckily, she loved the BeeGees also. Also love "I Started the Joke", and "How can you Mend a Broken Heart" Beautiful...
Love The Bee Gee's early music especially 60's-70's. Robin Gibb takes the lead on this great song. It was originally released in 1967. Some of their other early hits were "New York Mining Disaster 1941", "To Love Somebody", "Holiday", "World", "And The Sun Will Shine", "Really & Sincerely", "Words", "The Singer Sang His Song", "I've Gotta Get A Message To You", "Lonely Days", "Melody Fair", "First of May", "Give Your Best", "Lamplight" etc.
BizMatik, just love your reactions, especially to my Bee Gees. Been with my guys since this song was written (1967) and you were listening to Robin's beautiful and ethereal voice on lead. This song was actually their first #1in England. Most of their hits from the late 60's to the early 70's were either Robin leads or shared leads with big brother Barry. Please react to some of Robin's other leads from this era starting with "I Started a Joke", Robin's signature song. He got standing ovations each and every time he performed this wonderful song live. Please use his 1989 Melbourne concert performance for your reaction. I promise that you won't be disappointed. He also did a wonderful live performance of "Massachusetts" as well at this very same concert. One other song that I would very much like for you to react to is "I Can't See Nobody", another great Robin lead from the same era. Please use their 1974 Melbourne concert for your reaction. Robin sings his heart out on this one! I have lots of other suggestions ("And the Sun Will Shine" comes to mind from the very same 1974 concert) but that's all I'll ask for at this time. 😊 Thanks in advance for considering my three song requests.
Lonely Days, How can you mend a broken heart, Run to Me. Robin had such a beautiful and vulnerable break in his voice. This was written as a hippy song...looking to run to San Francisco but knowing you miss home more.
Love everything about this song-- and I agree-- it is so nostalgic and moving in its orchestration. The HARMONIES, man!! Genius songwriters-singers! LOVE your on-point comments as usual. some humor, lots of sense and sensibility, my friend.
I'm so happy to see you doing more Bee Gees. Everyone is doing the same 3 songs. Nobody knows about all the songs they have. 😢 If You look up the album "Best of the Bee Gees" ( the cover is yellow) It has all good older songs by them. Thank you. ❤
Pre disco: To Love Somebody, New York Mining Disaster, Words, I Started A Joke, Holiday, How Can You Mend A Broken Heart, First of May, Lamplight, Run To Me, Morning Of My Life, Don't Forget To Remember, Lonely Days, Don't Want To Live Inside Myself. To start. :)
This song was infact written by Barry, Robin and Maurice to be a counter weight to the flower power movement especially the song "San Francisco" by Scott McKenzie. It became their first UK number 1. They said that the fraze The Lights Went Out is to say that all had went to San Francisco and therefore there were no light in Massachusetts
The great thing about about the Bee Gees is that you can love and appreciate them in many eras, from the 60s to the 70s disco and the 80s and 90s contemporary era. There's something for everyone.
I was (and still am) pissed that The Bee Gees sold out to that horrid disco crap. Nice to see someone review their better music. Please consider reviewing New York Mining Disaster (1941), Words (especially this), I've Gotta Get A Message To You, How Can You Mend A Broken Heart? Lonely Days, Lonely Nights, I Started A Joke, To Love Somebody.
I Started a Joke is another song Robin is the front singer. Probably not a popular option but check out the soundtrack for Stg Pepper movie. So many good songs the Bee Gees covering Beatles songs.
the greatness of 60s bee gees gets overshadowed by their disco era which is a shame. if you want a real blast from the past go back even further when they were more of a folk trio in their teens.
Run To Me. I Started A Joke. Tomorrow Tomorrow. Words. I've Got To Get A Message To You. Lonely Days. Juliet. First Of May. Holiday. I Can't See Nobody. My World. Don't Forget To Remember. Edge Of The Universe. How Do You Mend A Broken Heart. To Love Somebody. New York Mining Disaster. Spicks And Specks. Jive Talkin. Time Is Passing By. Three Kisses Of Love. Morning Of My Life. Mr Natural.
“Gotta Get a Message to You” and “I Started a Joke” 1000% ❤
To Love Somebody is another fantastic song by this awesome brothers.
Robins voice gives me the chills anytime of the year :) Love da bee Gees
My favorite pre-disco BeeGee song is How Can You Mend a Broken Heart from 1971. It was their first US No. 1 single.
You have excellent taste! One of my favourites!
Probably my favorite three disco Bee Gees. I didn't mention it in my list because I figured a lot of other people would

Words and Lonely Days are great early BeeGees songs too
Love the BeeGees .I live in Massachusetts. Thanks for being a New Englander at heart!
Another which features Robin is, I Started a Joke.

I’ve always liked The Bee Gees pre disco the best! They did some great songs back then!
Love all those songs and How Can You Mend a Broken Heart.
Oh, I forgot I Started a Joke
If you want to see them perform Massachusetts live I suggest - ( One For All Tour 1989).

Lots of great early leads from brother Maurice as well! Two great songs written & sung by Mo are Trafalgar & It's Just The Way.
Born in Boston and this song is making me homesick 😪
Can you pronounce your home state?
Me too, but too cold this time of the year ♥️
@@John_Locke_108I can, but they call me Masshole here in Florida 😂 they're not wrong 🤣🤣
Love the song.the Bee Gees have so. Many great songs
Amo❤❤❤❤A voz de Robin, é linda demais 💕💕😍🇧🇷💪👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks for this reaction !
Haven't heard this song for maybe 30 years. Grew up with their music.
In honor of your love for schlyrics, please react to the 60’s song that became Barry’s signature song WORDS.
Lonely Days, How can you mend a broken heart, Run to Me. Robin had such a beautiful and vulnerable break in his voice. This was written as a hippy song...looking to run to San Francisco but knowing you miss home more.
🙏🙏 Maurice, Robin.
Beautiful. 💗
Well said Biz…. Missed you for the last 2 weeks ! I’m from Beverly Massachusetts ❤️
Love some bee gee’s
Unfortunately, many younger people only know the Bee Gees as a disco band. Their early stuff was classic and need exposure. Thanks for doing that.
Moved to Phoenix maybe? :) I'll be here for ANY early Bee Gees. great stuff.
I heard it’s nice out there
Funny to hear an old interview with Bee Gees. When they wrote this song they had never been to Massachusetts
A fantastic band, with so many beautiful songs!

YES! Shout out to New England, indeed. (I live in Roxbury, MA).
Biz! I don’t know you bro but I love ya man! I get so much joy in watching your reactions. You make me laugh every day!

Lonely Days
Nice
Also try "Run to Me" and "Had a Lot of Love Last Night."

For me there is only one BEEGEES. That is the pre-disco one.
The great thing about about the Bee Gees is that you can love and appreciate them in many eras, from the 60s to the 70s disco and the 80s and 90s contemporary era. There's something for everyone.
Why? There are tons of great songs after "disco."
@@LillyMarz777 disagree!
A little Scott Mackenzie San Francisco with the ‘60’s sound.

Wow. Hold grudges much? They weren't writing "disco", they were just writing great songs. The only "disco" I liked was the Brothers Gibb.
DAVE CLARK 5-BECAUSE
they rivaled the BE,ATLES ! please check them out. Loads of hits.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS 😊

i already did the I started a joke song
Even better when you consider these guys are from Australia.
They were from the UK. Isle of Man then moved to Manchester before going to AU for a few years.
Makes sense because Australia was a British colony just like Massachusetts was.
