More accurately, his friends. Despite Kaido(the strongest creature) being right in front of her, telling her Luffy has croaked, Nami didn't "lose her nerve". She "held on" to hope, and the sun indeed did rise.

I already knew about the whole theory/speculation of this song hinting about the end of the series, but the way it was explained here was so well done. I just thought it was about how to get to Raftel/Laugh Tale
It would be interesting if the Will of D being passed down is a reference to Don. I’d be curious to look back and see if every death of a confirmed holder of the Will of D is accompanied by a ‘Don!’ on the panel when they smile. Their deaths are always impactful events, so it’s likely this is the case
Ok so, what I got from this video is that the D family carries the sound 'don' basically their heartbeat and hence they smile at their deaths which can be interpreted as joyboy laughing from his heart 'don'. It would make sense that the D family are carrying the will of joyboy in their heartbeat which sounds like a drum 'don'.
That part where they're singing the song and its switching between the rum bar pirates and the straw hats got me crying and I watch that because Burke's backstory is the saddest of all
The one piece wasn't the friends we made along the way, it was the journey we had along the way. The triumphs, the people lost, the happy moments. The one piece isn't an object. We are the one piece. That is why the first one piece song is named we are, because WE ARE THE ONE PIIIIEEEECEEE!!!
My naming being Don felt weird hearing it so much. Thank you. This fucking story is getting as carzy as I thought it would and I love it…. The world being in an 800 year darkness waiting for the dawn of the sun definitely is how out world has been…… this story is the story.
ahhh the Mr Horse plugin swoosh sound had me questioning my life as i was editing and didnt know where it came from lol your editors have good taste liam!
@GrandLineReview "The waves are our pillows, the ship our roost." Yet another reminder we have no idea where the Oro Jackson is / what is with that giant egg on top.
This video just gave me an awesome idea for manga websites. As an English reader I know what the sound effects symbols are I just never know what sounds they represent. How cool would it be if there was a site to read manga that incorporated eye tracking software so that when you view a panel the site will play the audio of the corresponding sound effects. That would be epic.
This is why I’m on board with the “The One Piece is Sake” theory. Sake would be a funny treasure to leave behind and drinking it would be a way to connect the past and the present.
I heard someone mention that the minks are important to Joyboy and poneglyphs, even to the point of wondering if Joyboy was a Mink. What if there was a mistranslation over centuries and Bink's Sake is actually Mink's Sake?
what if those that say good bye are the strawhats, them parting ways. usopp staying at elbaf makes a lot of sense to me. Being one of luffys fleet, his own captain.
I mean then maybe the answer to what D stands for is the Ockohms razor provided through this song. D stands for Don, the beat of liberation. To liberate us from the tyrannical gods, the beats of Nika’s drum must live on through generations to eventually play their liberating song
Do all these Dons! and drums and dawns make anyone else want to re-examine Drum island… Dr. Hiriluk’s famous speech about dying only when forgotten… the lore drop of Gol D Roger… the meaning of the pirate flag… the cherry blossoms… the background intros of Ace and Blackbeard… All of that in an arc where Luffy is trying to save a friend by climbing to the top of the world in an unjust land where not 20 kings but 20 doctors hold sway over who lives and who dies, beholden to the rule of an inept and hollow leader who devours his subordinates for power, only to be defeated by a determined young pirate who holds freedom and joy above all else… Not to mention I think there’s more to choppers human human fruit than meets the eye. Lots to ponder
Bink's Sake rebinds me of Bugg's Bunny. The original note on the rabbit was meant to be "a bunny drawn by Bug" and so we get "Bugs Bunny" as the character. I can totally see Oda pulling a similar "the person who made the Sake is who the song is named after but at this point its its taken on its own life and is a seperate thing.
Songs, drums, music. I really think it would be cool if the One Piece was a energy generator related to music and joy. Like it fills up with energy when someone sings or plays an instrument. Would connect with Vegapunk's "infinite energy" thing and makes sense that the WG doesn't want that power in the hands of the world
Maybe to find or unlock laugh tale you need to sing bing's sake to the sound of the drum. Because the nika nika fruit now is awakened you can finally sing bing's sake to the beat of the drum. Roger found laugh tale but maybe he couldn't enter, hence being "too soon"
I always blew off Binks Sale being such a history map. The Joyboy channel on here has been talking about how important this song is for quite awhile now
The mention of the sky could be a reference to skypia, and that reference to the deep sea could be fishman Island, and the reference to the ship on the sea, could be the travelers on the blue Sea
About the issue of "sake" vs "brew"; In anime and manga, "sake" often refers to alcoholic beverages in general, not always specifically sake. I've heard beer and even wine been called "sake" in some shows, even with subtitles. Even in early One Piece, in the Romance Dawn flashback, Shanks' crew are said to drink "sake", when it's clearly ale. Sure, we see pirates in One Piece drink sake a lot, but we also see them toast with pints of ale and bottles of rum. That's why "Bink's Brew" works. It's a drinking song first and foremost, because pirates love their drinks. But pirates like Luffy, Shanks, Whitebeard, and Roger also share their drinks with their friends, so the theme of One Piece is still there. I have watched other Ohara and Dawn And Dusk's analyses of the true meaning of this song, and it's an interesting theory. Though I must say there are some clues to the story in the English version too. Whether the translation is word for word after Japanese, or changed to sound good in English, the meaning is still there, if a bit more subtle. All credits to Oda for writing this wonderful song, and credits to Toei animation and Cho for the music, but I still love Funimation's version of Bink's Brew.
I wonder if the original translation wasnt as out-there as it sounds, because poetically, it still hits its mark. "Bid fairwell to weavers town. Say so long to ports renowned." Weavers town wouldbbe the town of beginnings. Where a story is first weaved. And ports renowned is another hyperbolic way of refering to where everything once began. The hometown of whoever this message is from. Either this line is accidentally on point, or someone with insight did a once over on the lyrics.
Welp, I stick with my theory on the world being flooded, it was flooded not because of the ancient weapons but because of the construction of the red line (quite a lot of mass, takes a lot of space, makes the seas go up), and as such, cabluiing the red line will make the sea level go down again revealing the rest of the world 😬😂
I would love for the song to be pivotal to the final battle. The pirates are all down, the world government/marines are wounded, tired but standing. Everything is silent then somewhere on the massive battle field Brook, broken but not out, starts playing Binks sake, begins singing. At first it's just a shocked silence from the WG and Marines, then at first with some of the bigger named pirates, then their crews, everyone slowly gets up and starts singing along with a Don before Luffy steps back up.
what makes me tear up every time is the line about "waving goodbyes." what it literally says in japanese is "that shadow waving it's hand, we wont ever see again" which signifies to me that maybe joyboy pulled an oden and sacrificed himself for his crew, and in the end waved goodbye to them with the classic will of d smile :(
Now that I think about it, Toki’s prophecy may also be related to this. “You are a moon unaware of Dawn” may, in fact, be referencing the same moon as in Bink’s Sake. She’s from void century after all, why wouldn’t she draw on that cultural understanding when making the prophecy? Even Wano’s story itself seems to parallel what we know of Void Century. And Oda loves his parallels.
A couple of crackpot theories: In the second verse, "waves of gold and silver dissolve to salty spray" could also be a hint towards Gol D. Roger and Silvers Rayleigh's influence begin to transition out as the new generation begins to stake their claim in history and fame. Secondly - what if Binks Sake refers to the Poneglyphs?
Everytime you say check the link in the description. I never see it in the description. (I exaggerated a little but still a lot of times is missing) still you channels are awesome, and i watched a lot of them, and continue to watch them.

Imagine ending of One Piece, Now Pirate King Luffy n Straw Hats potentially along with help of all of Straw Hats allies n friends theyve made over years they all defeat opposition during night on Red Line, Part of Luffys Dream find is to Destroy n Bring Down Red Line thus bringing world together without boundaries then rest of Luffys dream the entire World of One Piece was there to help and or arrives to have a massive party for everyone in world celebrating new found peace and just as Worlds at peace n eating as much as anyone likes having a great time the sound on party fades to We Are as Sun rises on Horizon n everyone slowly quiets n turns to watch Sun Rise on, A New Dawn…
Like Ive been trying to think of a better ending and I just cant, Without going into far more detail on THAT ending I cant think of how it could be better, Sun Rises over calm Sea on entire cast weve met over years enjoying n celebrating a new found peace in a world undivided and united through none other than Monkey D Luffy and Strawhats…
I hope that one day we can get a more accurate english bink's sake that retains the official translation's genuine sea shanty qualities, best of both worlds y'know
I made a theory right after we saw Gear 5 revealed that his heart beat is to the rhythm of Bink’s Sake. I still believe this to be the case.
Ohara made a video on this like 1 month ago don't know if any other theorist has a video on it, happy to see that this theory is supported by others
It's always so cool to me how lots of One Piece youtubers interact with and support each other's content here. Love to see it!
I already knew about the whole theory/speculation of this song hinting about the end of the series, but the way it was explained here was so well done. I just thought it was about how to get to Raftel/Laugh Tale
Love from Belgium 🇧🇪 ❤ I was waiting for this video
Episode.. the first scene we see is the sub, birds flying around it.. and luffy beginning his journey...crazy
Honestly, I thought the music of Bink's Sake was going to compliment the Drumbeat of Liberation. Maybe it will but so far no dice
That part where they're singing the song and its switching between the rum bar pirates and the straw hats got me crying and I watch that because Burke's backstory is the saddest of all
The song is also saying that even the immortal (Imu?) shall eventually die like Saturn did 🤔
The one piece wasn't the friends we made along the way, it was the journey we had along the way. The triumphs, the people lost, the happy moments. The one piece isn't an object. We are the one piece. That is why the first one piece song is named we are, because WE ARE THE ONE PIIIIEEEECEEE!!!
This song is what got me into One Piece in the first place, listening to the song on RUclips + seeing Brook's backstory
Great video internet man. Have had a lot of these thoughts myself. Also thanks for putting us on to Dawn and dusk, love them too.
I love bink’s sake, I got excited when at the end of film Red Ado starting singing it
Song of the sky - Skypeans
Song of the waves - humans / giants
Song of the deep sea - fishmen
🤔
My naming being Don felt weird hearing it so much. Thank you. This fucking story is getting as carzy as I thought it would and I love it…. The world being in an 800 year darkness waiting for the dawn of the sun definitely is how out world has been…… this story is the story.
This is a very evaluated version, well done :)
I knew a video was going to release around this timeframe. My internal clock has learned the tides of the releases.
Don...Krieg! His return has veen foretold in an old song!
ahhh the Mr Horse plugin swoosh sound had me questioning my life as i was editing and didnt know where it came from lol your editors have good taste liam!
"yohohoho yohohoho" is actually morse code to raftel coordinates
My favorite characters Dad says one of my favorite lines, "Do it with a Don!"
If we just hold on the morning sun will rise. It really reflects the way Oda uses the countdown story point often

This is why I’m on board with the “The One Piece is Sake” theory. Sake would be a funny treasure to leave behind and drinking it would be a way to connect the past and the present.
Not the Ancient Weapons. Enough people sing the song and the Ancient Kingdom Rises from the Sea.
Bro has been eating those Dak's Sake theories like candy
When thinking of the Don, I always hear the initial drop from To The Grandline
Do all these Dons! and drums and dawns make anyone else want to re-examine Drum island…
Dr. Hiriluk’s famous speech about dying only when forgotten… the lore drop of Gol D Roger… the meaning of the pirate flag… the cherry blossoms… the background intros of Ace and Blackbeard…
All of that in an arc where Luffy is trying to save a friend by climbing to the top of the world in an unjust land where not 20 kings but 20 doctors hold sway over who lives and who dies, beholden to the rule of an inept and hollow leader who devours his subordinates for power, only to be defeated by a determined young pirate who holds freedom and joy above all else…
Not to mention I think there’s more to choppers human human fruit than meets the eye. Lots to ponder
Ive recently watched thriller bark and reading the lyrics and trying to connect it to current events is kinda craaazy
Another great video
I always blew off Binks Sale being such a history map. The Joyboy channel on here has been talking about how important this song is for quite awhile now
"Never-ending, ever-wandering, our Laughtale."
So it's a mobile island?
Say so long to ports renowned."
Weavers town wouldbbe the town of beginnings. Where a story is first weaved. And ports renowned is another hyperbolic way of refering to where everything once began. The hometown of whoever this message is from.
Either this line is accidentally on point, or someone with insight did a once over on the lyrics.
Hey man in the Internet i've been informing myself of one piece by watching this videos, lote from Chile almost 2 yers watching
I remember that speed up was send from skypia to impel down it was amazing
I'm getting a GrandLineReview video deja vu
when you realize after viewing this Tom said " Do it with a Don" may also allude to the drums of liberation Don
Can the songs be related to The Ancient Weapons?
Song of the sky - Uranus
Song of the surface - Pluton
Song of the deep sea - Posiedon
This video inspiring me is the latest thing I expected
what makes me tear up every time is the line about "waving goodbyes." what it literally says in japanese is "that shadow waving it's hand, we wont ever see again" which signifies to me that maybe joyboy pulled an oden and sacrificed himself for his crew, and in the end waved goodbye to them with the classic will of d smile :(
Brb going to listen to sogeking theme 1:16 need that
how was it?
@@FrankieWithAY splendid 👌
Just wanna say your hair looks perfect in this video
Now that I think about it, Toki’s prophecy may also be related to this. “You are a moon unaware of Dawn” may, in fact, be referencing the same moon as in Bink’s Sake. She’s from void century after all, why wouldn’t she draw on that cultural understanding when making the prophecy? Even Wano’s story itself seems to parallel what we know of Void Century. And Oda loves his parallels.
The lyrics remind me of Shipwright Tom and his saying of "Do it with a don!". Makes me wonder if Tom also knew the true meaning of this song.
A couple of crackpot theories:
In the second verse, "waves of gold and silver dissolve to salty spray" could also be a hint towards Gol D.
1:58 EERRRRMMMMMM ACTUALLY IT WASN'T THE MERRYYYY THAT ARRIVVEDDDD, IT WAS THE SUNNNYYYYY
@GrandLineReview you missed the link to Ohara's video in the description.
I can already feel that this will be the song playing as we see the final one piece credits scroll down. 😢
