If you look, for example, at RPGs, they're thriving now (just look at this year, we got shit like Metaphor just a few weeks ago), platformers (We got Super Mario last year, Astrobot 2 a few months ago and a Sonic remaster in the next few days), fighting games (we got TEKKEN, STREET FIGHTER, DB SPARKING ZERO, BLEACH IN A FEW MONTHS, WE GETTING GOOD SHIT), etc. You mentioned live service shooters and Spider-Man. Live service games are usually really shit and made exclusively to get money, obviously they have no regard for what players actually like. Focus more on actual games and you'll have a lot more fun for even cheaper most of the time.

the problem with that is that the game is so unbalanced at this point that you are going to be having bad players getting these true modes either way just because of their incredibly broken builds (and its going to be a lot because a large majority of the players you fight against are usually running the best things in game at the moment) on top of that the devs don't know how to make the grind for something good and not repetitive garbage
Lowkey stopped midway through second betrayal after I genuinely noticed I can’t run my favorite build in high comp/ clan wars everyone had the same thing with small variation and then the universal weapons made it worse missed back in the first Betrayal where everyone had something different not the same weapon and shikai and you Js had to learn to adapt that’s what brought the love for the game for the variety in a bleach game and now most of the stuff they add isn’t even bleach anymore no overpowered things are bleach related at all

Everyone knows the Hell update is hyped but it's also a mixed hype because of the fact that we know permadeath of some kind will be put into Hell content. To top this off, before the Hell update is added, we get these Dragon Balls (let's be real, that's what they are) that give various wishes INCLUDING THE OPTION TO HUNT DOWN ANY PLAYER OF YOUR CHOOSING. Said hunt CAN and WILL lead to you being wiped unless you can actually fend off people for that long. Imagine spending months on a specific build only to have it wiped. Good luck, I'm going back to GPO. At least when they add insanely hard to get shit you get to keep those items when you obtain them.
