@MrSamadolfo yeah, I have the Vega56 msi airboost blower card and at 100 watt powerlimit I can play some nice games like Killing Floor 2 (2016) ultra settings at 1440p/60. When I was mining ethereum it was doing 50MH/s, paid itself over at least 5 times
@@TheMasterOfSafari at HOE difficulty at wave 6+ with a shit ton of stuff going on I bet that 570 drops to 30fps. The vega stayed at 60 constant at 100 watts really impressive
I think something that might be useful from this gpu is the HBM2 memory, for editing, software developement and etc, (HBM2 memory is 2 times faster than GDDR6), perhaps a video to demonstrate the performance of those HBM2 might getting more engagement
Yeah because it only lived for around 5 to 6 months since later the 5700XT dropped and also not to mention the Vega VII had short supply, it wasn't easily available worldwide and those that actually managed to get some were usually for mining, so yeah many factors on why a lot of people have forgotten it or have never even heard about it.
@@damasterpiece08 I've not tried but having the HBM2 memory on the vega + HBCC (use system ram as VRAM) should give you higher FPS in memory heavy games. It has downsides. I still have a Vega56 so i'm gonna try it sometime.
@@QoP.. i have seen a video about that but i cant remember on which channel, i think it was iceberg tech. Still, its weaker than rx 5700xt so unless you can find it for 80€ or less its not a viable option imo
Thank you for making this, people sleep on the VEGA 64, some games mesh so well with the HBM2 architecture that it still competes with a modern card. I popped it in on the Monster Hunter Wilds Beta and it hit similar fps to my 7900xt, amazing. The card LOVES RE Engine games it seems. Other games not so well but it doesnt really perform "bad" in any respects. It's incredible the amount of performance you get can out of Cyberpunk with a card this cheap for example, just depends on the game engine and if it happens to "mesh" with HBM2. I really think HBM2 was the future and we were robbed of it lol I love these weird, forgotten cards. Budget King for sure, no, the VEGA is the budget GOD EMPEROR
I think that HBM2 was just too expensive in comparison to GDDR5 at the time.. but yeah, especially when tweaked these Vegas are great. A bit sad that AMD dropped driver support for it..
The one thing that kills Vega cards is volumetric settings. I always go down to medium on that seeing in every hand and it practically doubles the fps.
It can go up to 300 watts, but on stick settings or only pulls like 215. I have kept mine at 250 watts and it's run fine for like 7 years now. When I tested going up to 300 watts or only increased the fps by like a few so it really want with the extra heat and stress.
I've been running a Vega 64 with an i5 CPU since 2019 and my FPS are higher than yours in many of those games, and I run almost everything at Max settings. Currently on a 1440p ultra wide screen. Very few games. Do I need to turn down settings on to get playable smoothness. I could have upgraded this thing a few years ago but I still find no need. Maybe another year or two... Mine is the sapphire reference model with the blower fan. It can get as high as 80c but that's with the fan running maybe 40% at most. It never goes higher and the fans never go louder. That TDP is no joke though. I just ran a stress test on it and was watching the display on my UPS that my computer is plugged into and saw it shoot over 500 total Watts when my system is usually chugging around between 175 to 220 w
Yooo I missed this video upload man sorry. Was burning the midnight oil till today. Great surprise to find 2 videos uploaded man. I recently got a reference version of the Vega 64 Liquid Cooled edition on a ebay bid one week ago, managed to snipe it out on the last 30 seconds of the bid for $86 😅😂 and the conditions were great 💪😎 and I know and seen many video that only focus on benchmarks of it on 1080p but is also very capable to play most games on 1440p at stable 60fps and on occasions it can go way more to 80-100fps at 1440p.
I need an answer asap friend please, I plan to buy this graphics card and pair it with a ryzen 5 5500 processor and the only game I want play is cs2. In this short video of yours, there is deathmatch dust2 and I can see that it doesn't go over 200fps on dust2, it's not that bad, but I also see a big frame drop at 90fps in one moment of fight on mid, which is really bad if it happens often, so can you tell me do frame drops happened while play cs2? And what is avrage settings in cs2? 😅 I think most players play it on low, so I don't know what the average settings are
Hey, I'm almost certain that the bottlenecking part in your build for CS2 will be your processor. i5-12400F used in this video is better than your 5500, but not by a huge margin, so you should be able to pull at least 150fps in the deathmatch. As for the frame dips to 90, they happened because I was recording the footage through AMD software, which takes away a bit of the CPU's performance. Best of luck on CS2 bro
@@CheapBastardI get a good deal on the Ryzen 5 5600x though, which I ordered. Now I'm still deciding between the RX 5700XT and the Vega 64.I think for cs2 i will not need rx 5700 xt. Did you happen to play premier and competitive with this setup and how much did it go there avg?
i mean you can get an rx 5700XT and get better wattage also better performance nearly the same price, But if you went and bios mod a vega 56 to a 64, its really a good card for that price.
@CheapBastard 7000 Egyptian pound which is cheap for a GPU with such performance in Egypt which is equivalent to 142$ now, and it is equivalent to 25$ cheaper than its price on the used market .
🙂 here in Chicago i havent seen any used Vega and used vega online is overpriced and they are price gouging, if you want something similar i recommend the three fan 5700XT but you will need two 8pin plugs and a 650w power supply, if your running cheap budget computers then i assume your using cheaper power supplies so in that case i would suggest that you stick to video cards that use a single 8pin plug, everybody should already know whats all the recommended budget cards, and really there isnt that many
These cards require a ton of tweaking and tuning. You can undervolt to 190 watts at 1600mhz and get even more performance.
😊 190watts is very nice indeed, in that senario your looking at an RX 580 single 8pin and a 450watt power supply but with a nicer video card 👍

undervolt to 215w?
can get a v64 for as low as 50 eur here lol. With the mandatory undervolt and hbm oc (which i highly reccomend), its still a beast
