Maidiacs love all the members but probably the most under appreciated member, to the casual or new listener, is the Rhythm guitarist Miku. As you learn more about the band, though, her contributions and importance becomes more obvious. She’s a great Rhythm guitarist, and backing vocalist who also takes lead vocals at times. Her vocals add so much to their sound it can’t be underestimated. She’s also the primary lyricist (although not for this song). She’s also brings unmatched levels of energy to their live performances, and is a born entertainer who can hold the audience in the palm of her hand during intermissions, which she calls “Magic Spell Time”.
Don't worry, EVERYONE appreciates and recognises Akane's skills on the drum kit - she's almost always the driving force behind the band, and actually has some true solos for some tracks 👍😎🥰Some have said this group has all five as leads, and they're right! You had some great comments, subbed! For instance, good work noting that Akane is enjoying herself, you'll never see her go long without a smile. With regards to the endurance needed to wear these costumes... consider that this was song 22 out of 33 in what was an over 3.5 hour concert (I wouldn't recommend doing it immediately, but eventually do the live version of Endless Story, which was the closer for this concert, if you want to see the fatigue that they went through). In terms of Akane's outfit, she does wear shorts or a shorter skirt so as to keep her legs free to do what they have to do. As you said, they really hate somebody... this song was written about one of their friends' significant others who had cheated on her. That guy can never show his face outdoors again. You don't want to cross these maids! If you want to go back to some of their early days (they've been around nearly 12 years), you can check out the music video for the song that saved the band, Thrill. But the most amazing thing about this band is that, if you go to their RUclips channel and pick ANY song of theirs, and you'll find it great. Their consistency is astounding.

I got into hard rock around 1981 (the year of “Fire of Unknown Origin,” “Moving Pictures,” and “Point of Entry,” among plenty of others), and then spent the next four decades unknowingly waiting for Band-Maid - a band where half the songs are great and the other half are masterpieces, with no filler material, no ups and downs in quality or intensity, just ups and slightly-less-ups. Spot on in your assessment on this song in this particular case. Haveing watched dozens on top of dozens of Hate? reactions, most every reactor gets losts in the sauce of the guitar conversation taking place down center stage ( and for good reason). With nary a mention of the percussive magic weaving its way through the solo's adding and accentuating so much wlhile also holding it all together. Up to this point I've only seen 1 other reaction that focused on how wildly important what the drums are doing during this section of the song are to the overall Banger Stautus success of the song. Don't misunderstand, the Band-Maid community know, love and appreciate Akane immensely. Knowing what a vital piece of the Band-Maid sound she is. Its the (usually firtst time) reactors that take a few BM reactions to notice her immense talent, bright smile and positive energy flowing out from behind her kit. Maidiac's know that her music, her drumming is the sound of Joy. Its the expression of her inner energy via her instrument through sound! One other quick note, in a Maidiac's Heart there will Always be 5 Maid's on stage. But as of this particular Serving / ( Concert ) to the casual observers, there is and will be Only 1 Maid outfit visible onstage. Welcome to Band-Maid! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 58 years on this planet. They don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog mayhem to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They can make you headbang, they can make you pogo, they can make you cry like a baby. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and world class musicians to boot. They are currently into their 12th year with the original line up. And they are the best live band I have ever witnessed! Btw, Miku the rhythm guitarist (red rose) formed the band. She had the idea of Band-Maid after working as a maid in Japanese maid cafe's. Her idea is a concept called "The Gap" - that is what you see (cute maids) is NOT what you get (Hard Rock/Punk/Metal).

I kinda sorta get the surf rock thing. If you are coming in cold, you could maybe hear Misirlou lurking back in Miku's rhythm part. Costumes have been part of live performance for thousands of years, it's not that hard. You just make them comfortable. Think about the musical Cats and what those performers were doing.
We aren't paid by the Ladies or anyone else. But we ARE very passionate about the Ladies and their music. As for the sub-title issue, I normally recommend turning them off for your first listen and just let the music flow over you. Then go back and watch it with the sub-titles on. No, we appreciate Akane the drummer. Band-Maid's sound is based around her, so she is VERY important to their music. to the point that many of us consider her to one the top 10 or 15 drummers currently.

You are of course entitled to form your own opinion but I am not sure how you get rockabilly or surf out of this. It sure doesn't sound to me like any rockabilly or surf that I have ever heard. Some of the heavier Band-Maid song suggestions for you are Moratorium, No God, and Rinne. The songs Play, Why Why Why, Clang, and Matchless Gum are also fairly heavy. They also have some really good instrumentals such as Onset, From Now On, and Without Holding Back.

Maidiacs love all the members but probably the most under appreciated member, to the casual or new listener, is the Rhythm guitarist Miku. As you learn more about the band, though, her contributions and importance becomes more obvious.
She’s a great Rhythm guitarist, and backing vocalist who also takes lead vocals at times. Her vocals add so much to their sound it can’t be underestimated. She’s also the primary lyricist (although not for this song). She’s also brings unmatched levels of energy to their live performances, and is a born entertainer who can hold the audience in the palm of her hand during intermissions, which she calls “Magic Spell Time”.
Also, I have never heard a commentor mention that Miku helps to build the intensity during the guitar/bass dialog.
Don't worry, EVERYONE appreciates and recognises Akane's skills on the drum kit - she's almost always the driving force behind the band, and actually has some true solos for some tracks 👍😎🥰Some have said this group has all five as leads, and they're right!

You had some great comments, subbed! For instance, good work noting that Akane is enjoying herself, you'll never see her go long without a smile. With regards to the endurance needed to wear these costumes... consider that this was song 22 out of 33 in what was an over 3.5 hour concert (I wouldn't recommend doing it immediately, but eventually do the live version of Endless Story, which was the closer for this concert, if you want to see the fatigue that they went through). In terms of Akane's outfit, she does wear shorts or a shorter skirt so as to keep her legs free to do what they have to do.
As you said, they really hate somebody... this song was written about one of their friends' significant others who had cheated on her. That guy can never show his face outdoors again. You don't want to cross these maids!
If you want to go back to some of their early days (they've been around nearly 12 years), you can check out the music video for the song that saved the band, Thrill. But the most amazing thing about this band is that, if you go to their RUclips channel and pick ANY song of theirs, and you'll find it great. Their consistency is astounding.

Spot on in your assessment on this song in this particular case. Haveing watched dozens on top of dozens of Hate? reactions, most every reactor gets losts in the sauce of the guitar conversation taking place down center stage ( and for good reason). With nary a mention of the percussive magic weaving its way through the solo's adding and accentuating so much wlhile also holding it all together.
Up to this point I've only seen 1 other reaction that focused on how wildly important what the drums are doing during this section of the song are to the overall Banger Stautus success of the song.
Don't misunderstand, the Band-Maid community know, love and appreciate Akane immensely. Knowing what a vital piece of the Band-Maid sound she is. Its the (usually firtst time) reactors that take a few BM reactions to notice her immense talent, bright smile and positive energy flowing out from behind her kit. Maidiac's know that her music, her drumming is the sound of Joy. Its the expression of her inner energy via her instrument through sound!
One other quick note, in a Maidiac's Heart there will Always be 5 Maid's on stage.
But as of this particular Serving / ( Concert ) to the casual observers, there is and will be Only 1 Maid outfit visible onstage. If you go back and take a look its just 4 musicians in concert stage wear and 1 Single Maid. Just an FYI

Welcome to Band-Maid! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 58 years on this planet. They don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog mayhem to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They can make you headbang, they can make you pogo, they can make you cry like a baby. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and world class musicians to boot. They are currently into their 12th year with the original line up. And they are the best live band I have ever witnessed!
Btw, Miku the rhythm guitarist (red rose) formed the band. She had the idea of Band-Maid after working as a maid in Japanese maid cafe's. Her idea is a concept called "The Gap" - that is what you see (cute maids) is NOT what you get (Hard Rock/Punk/Metal).

I kinda sorta get the surf rock thing. If you are coming in cold, you could maybe hear Misirlou lurking back in Miku's rhythm part. Costumes have been part of live performance for thousands of years, it's not that hard. You just make them comfortable. Think about the musical Cats and what those performers were doing.

For context I am 55. You have just witnessed the best band ever!!! I have listened to a lot great music, but these ladies are at the top. Over 100 great songs not one I would skip. Try Honkai live next.

You are of course entitled to form your own opinion but I am not sure how you get rockabilly or surf out of this. It sure doesn't sound to me like any rockabilly or surf that I have ever heard.
Some of the heavier Band-Maid song suggestions for you are Moratorium, No God, and Rinne. The songs Play, Why Why Why, Clang, and Matchless Gum are also fairly heavy. They also have some really good instrumentals such as Onset, From Now On, and Without Holding Back.

Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Don’t Let Me Down, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid.

Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “StarQueen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies. At 30 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Teacher) as band members call her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away her sometimes perceived, coldish persona. Saiki’s powerhouse performances, charisma, and voice focus the experience that’s driven her to the top echelon of hard rock frontwomen... or frontmen!
Miku Kobato (Me-Ku) "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 33 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR SpokesPigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. Kuruppo! No, no, no… KURUPPO!!
Kanami Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 33 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more!
Akane Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, 34 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumZilla” is the Party!
MISA (Me-Sa) "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass, 32 years old. An alluring free spirit driving her 5-string to rapturous low-ends while pulling off surprising counter leads with Kanami, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. Sometimes seen as the Mysterious One because she lets her instrument do the talking, the Assassin literally kills it… every note... uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA!

The Maids SOLD OUT 2023 US & Mexico tour wrapped up and was a fantastic success. And so many great live fancams to watch! Their playing and antics were as fresh and fun to experience from first show to last. BRAVO Band-Maid!!!!! In addition, their Japan tour finished up with 13 concerts. Their 10th Anniversary Tour concluded at Japan’s 17,000 seat Yokohama Arena on Nov. 26, 2023 and in Hong Kong Dec. 21! And their latest 10TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR SPIN OFF concert at KT ZEPP YOKOHAMA on February 22, 2024, where they played songs not performed at the 10th anniversary tour final at Yokohama Arena, was SOLD OUT, as usual!

And a thing about the maid outfits, Under: as Fans and Maidiacs know, Miku -- the 2nd guitarist, lyricist, founder and who worked at a maid cafe -- wanted to show that everyday working "Kawaii" girls dressed as maids in high heels while having fun and smiling could rock as hard as any guy band sweating it up in their hip, poor tortured artists "outfits"... and by showing that contrast (the Gap), it would generate interest, which it so successfully has done! It also represents Woman Power (Equality), which is an important theme with the Maids.
Now they show up as Maids for all band business and interviews, etc. and have created a long-lasting, unmistakable, visual band brand. Very cleaver, Miku. Your diabolical plan for world domination is working, Po! Of course, none of this would work if their music and stage performance wasn't at such a remarkably high level. Band-Maid is considered by many of their fans and Maidiacs to be the best hard rock band in the world - maid outfits and all!
