I’ve been wearing Lazer photochromic lens glasses for past 6 years, they are extremely good. So much so that my Oakley don’t get worn. So a photochromic lens for my Oakley must be the answer. Thank you
The slight smokiness is because they still filter about 30% of the light when not activated, right? At least that is what I read on the oakley website... I was thinking if I can use them for night riding too without having to buy the clear lens, as when I get home from work i still need protection of the sun so with the clear I have a problem
Hello, great video! How does the darkening of the photochromic lens do in the bright sunlight in comparison to your prizm lens? I need something for riding my motorcycle that can block the sun as much as possible.
I bought them one week ago. Are you lens completely clear when they are not in contact with sunlight ? I ask you this because my lens always has a smoky tint even at night
Thanks for this vid! Picking up that lens soon. Just can't decided on the two versions. Black Clear Iridium Photochromic or Black Clear Photochromic. Any advice on either of those? Thanks PWU....Pedal on.....
Good question... I guess what you have to ask yourself is your ideal "darkest tint" the lens can achieve and go from there. I haven't taken this lens out since I've put it in, and used it on everything from overcast rainy days to sunny blue-bird days. It's been one of the best "upgrades" to my eyewear in awhile.
@@MitchOnTwoWheels Thank you, which version are you using? Amazon shows 2 but Oakley's website only offers The Clear to Black Iridium. Presume that is the one you are rolling with. I have the Smith versions but picked up these Jawbreakers and I can't put them down!
Not sure if you purchased the glasses yet but iridium is an extra coating for anti glare let's say if regular black clear has 10%VLT then iridium verison will have 9%VLT If you ask me, i'd go with the iridium and get that extra mirror finish! (Current user of Radar EV Path Black Iridium Polarized) use it for daily driving.
Hello ive been riding about 2 weeks with the photochromic lens and been testing at night as thats when i get off of work . He is right there is a slight grey tint but nothing deal breaker in my opinion the lens does a good job at adapting to any bit of light so as long as its not pitch black you should be good
Super Video, i have only one question, do you guys use those glasses on Montainbikes on Trails? Or only on the street bikes? Thank You and Nice Video ,greetings from Germany
@@MitchOnTwoWheels if you are in vehicle... but they only slightly darken, just enough to take the worst glare. i am a oakley fan, but rudy have the best technology when it comes to photochromic lenses :-)
@@MitchOnTwoWheels yes, please do .... impactX Photochromic 2 is what they are called...... i have the red, the brown, and the purple lenses, all in the Rydon model. they are great..... i don't like the black version though, those are too drab and make the world look depresssing..... but the other 3 lens versions are amazing! . I have over 50 Oakleys, but i actually only need 3 of these Rudy lenses to cover everything ! LOL

The lens turns practically black. It’s pretty cool actually.
The photocromic lens only react to sunlight and not regular indoor light, correct?
Correct. UV light.
@@MitchOnTwoWheels thanks for thr clarification 👍

Very slight Smokeyness to them in the dark. I use them at night without problems.

That’s awesome. They are great shades for sure. Clear to Black Iridium is what I went with.

@@theuncanspan Thanks, I got the Black Clear Iridium Photochromic version.
Hi great review can you use them in the dark? 🤔
Yup. They turn completely clear.
Can you wear these at night while riding to keep dust/debris out instead of a true clear lens?
I feel like you could, but there may be a very slight-light grey color to them.

Road bike mostly.
@@MitchOnTwoWheels Thank you , do you have any recommendations for trails ?
Prizm trail lens
@@MitchOnTwoWheels thank you
Use UV light to show the effect.
Maybe next time... Didn't have one at the time LOL
Photochromic Lenses are kinda useless when you are driving. It must be in direct contact with UV light to be darkened.
rudy project have lenses that also darken indoors...... in that area rudy is superior to oakley
Why would you want them to darken indoors?
