I think it's worth mentioning, if it hasn't been brought up, is your footwear could be a factor in getting things in sync for recording and playback of the looper. I've found that softer soles on my shoe or soles that have tread on them (like a sneaker) can effect your timing when you trigger the looper (a wide sole can also be an issue). A harder, flatter, narrower sole is much more dependable.
Great content Prepared, detailed and well structured explanation video from an experts, truly maximize your Helix I hopes other things than looper videos will followed Great job Line 6!
I love this series! Thanks so much for making this video, Robbie! I have a separate looper pedal, so hadn't actually messed with the Helix looper before. But after watching this again, and realizing all the features it has, I will definitely explore using it going forward. You had some really great and useful tips, like where to put it in the signal chain, that I wouldn't have thought of. And of course, your playing and tones are always stellar! You always come up the most coolest and creative sounding rhythm parts! One reason I had a separate looper pedal, was so I could sync it with my Beatbuddy drum machine pedal via MIDI. I wonder if I could also do that with the Helix Looper? That might save me having to bring a separate pedal board to gigs! Thanks again for all you do!
Cool and helpful stuff! Coukd you explain how to loop and switch presets with the looper running? I did it once, and don't seem to be able to do it again 🙄
I was looking at the Boss RC series but as I own a Variax and a Firehawk board and Spider Jam amp I was wondering of I could replace the FH and Jam with the Helix for all my FX, Looping and Backing track play back. What is the specs of the looper? sample time both mono and stereo? Can you have multiple loopers in the chain for multiple instrument parts? Can you load up backing tracks? Are there built in grooves? Thanks!
The looper in the Helix is very very basic and no it can't do all that you are trying to do with the boss looper abs the loop time is very limited. B the Helix is primary function is an amp/effrctsv that can do basic looping but its NOT a debated looper.
i have the line 6 spider v 240 mkii. i don’t have any pedal. when I press the loop button and play something, then I press it again to play it in a repeated loop. my problem is that when this track that I have recorded stops, to start playing again, there is a delay of 3-4 seconds. how can i solve it without having this delay and what i have played is repeated directly?
Ohhhh dude can I like… hire you? I didn’t grow up around this stuff, and I struggle to learn it. I know my way around enough, but not to the level you display with such ease. I don’t need guitar lessons or anything… I just want to get the most out of this helix. I find so many online tutorials awful, and contradictory. I have the ability, I just need to be shown.
Just watch all the videos by Jason Sadites. His channel goes into very deep details on every amp/ effects on the Helix and shows you how to get each tone and what every botton/ control on the unit does and why. He's the Helix guru for sure. HE has 100s of videos in his back catalog. Every one is super helpful. Just do a google search with his name and the Helix topic you want to know more about. Good luck

You're a genius! I'm obviously an idiot. At any rate Robbie, I really love your music.

Fantastic! Thanks, Line6
That was very helpful! I wish you touch other concepts in a similar fashion. Great content! Thanx
Thanks! Awesome video! Acurate and Clear

So helpful this tutorial , much obliged sir ! 🙏
Great information. Thank you !
I have the same machine. An array of very impressive guitars, my own studio space… time… and experience. But I really suck at this for some reason.

2:15 Can you explain what you mean by - “1/2 speed “would be handy when recording 12-bar blues”? Please
Is there any way to record multiple tracks of loops? Or is there only one lane that you record and overdub on? Thank you!
