This headset makes me so conflicted. I like it but also has some deal breakers. Really depends what you're doing with this headset if it will make the person happy. Racing its prob great for causal games its hard to look past glare and sweet spot. The focal distance bugs me as well.

I thought that aswell until I got it now I can't really imagine any game it wouldn't be good for.

I have a feeling Bigscreen Beyond is on its way for a commercial failure due to ridiculous requirements of owning old base station trackings, controllers from past headset and you also need a modern Iphone to scan your face
VR/AR is amazing tech but the way Bigscreen marketed their product and with all these requirement gonna turn a lot of new vr comer off

It’s made for enthusiasts and not new comers though. Mainly marketed towards people who had a valve index previously so they already have base stations, controllers, and a good pc.
If you have a valve index it is a no brainer upgrade. If you don’t the stuff already it’s probably not worth it. But good to see the technology growing and trying new things. It is tiny and that’s gonna hopefully make other manufacturers do the same in the future

Bigscreen has been seriously struggling to keep up with the demand. They can't build them fast enough, and you have to wait for months to get one. They've been expanding their operation as fast as they can in an effort to keep up. So... you're just wrong. Sorry.
Basestations remain the highest performance tracking implementation on the market. Index controllers are still the best controllers on the market. Yes, these are old at this point, but they're not actually outdated until something that outperforms them is released onto the market. And that still hasn't happened yet.
The Iphone requirement is a drag for people who don't use iPhones (like me), but any iPhone that isn't ancient will do. And somebody you know has one that you can borrow for 5 minutes. You don't need to install anything on it. It's just a web URL you go to.
This is a product for PCVR enthusiasts who want the best available on the market. It's expensive and there's a lot of friction in the buying process, and they're selling like hotcakes anyway.
