- Liberal Senator Claire Chandler reveals her issues with the Albanese government’s “Orwellian” misinformation bill.
Ms Chandler recently voiced her concern over ‘Albanese’s political censorship plan’ in an article for The Spectator Australia.
“It outlines the issues that we have in this country when government tries to regulate what can and can’t be said in the marketplace of ideas,” she told Sky News host Rowan Dean.
“Whether that is speaking face-to-face as once was the way that people had these conversations.
“And now we’re having a similar conversation about whether or not speech should be regulated on social media.”
Labor is desperate to prevent the natural equilibrium that results from balanced political discourse.

How is it hypocritical? There is a limited role for the e-safety commissioner to prevent extreme online content but that’s all. Which is what the Liberal senator explained. There is however no place for the commissioner to be given the extra powers the Labor government wishes to bestow upon them. 😎👊👍🇦🇺

The police need to simply uphold the law when it comes to any protests. The moment a protest group becomes violent towards anyone it should be shut down. As Australians we have the right to peaceful protest. The moment you step over that line is when it becomes unlawful and police should immediately step in and shut it down. None of these scenarios we have seen in which police put the rights of the protestors ahead of the rights of innocent Australian citizens or telling them where they can or can’t walk or threatening arrest for waving our national flag, and definitely should not be allowing any protest to interfere with our national days like Australia day or ANZAC day. 😎👊👍🇦🇺
You don't need an e-safety commission for that. You just need to get the platforms highlighting these post and past them to the federal or state police. The police force is for policing the people within this country. Having a working relationship between our police and the internet based media platforms. It's not hard for these platforms to do this work. They need to be given the basic laws to protect children or people.
