Well thanks alot lol, I just ordered a pair of side swords.... The amount of whapping my clubmates with these it will take to justify this purchase is immense hahaha
Jordan had a really smart approach to this one, he did not fall for most of the traps and openings of the paired swords, and against the feints and beat flurry of the two swords he remained calm and timed the two swords. Being left handed helped a little as well because he can strike at awkward angles, but overall it was his calm and well timed strategy which led him to do far better than most would in this scenario, which I was especially impressed with considering there was no notice or prep for him, we just decided on it last minute.
Two is better. If anything Jordan did surprisingly well here with single compared to most. His left handedness makes certain actions you want to do with two swords riskier than normal, but he also had a well executed plan. Beyond just scoring points, the type of hits are also quite different. See how in this fight most of Jordan's hits are quick opportunistic cuts to the arm, whereas the two swords is often landing hard thrusts, head cuts and can much more safely target the legs with hard cuts.
@@AcademyofHistoricalFencing Right, I was surprised by how well Jordan seemed to be doing since he was using the same type of sword as you and didn't have any of the reach or leverage advantages he would have with a single rapier or longsword.
@@EvidensInsania another tactic that had some success is threatening with the point counter thrusting. However, just like the opportunistic cuts, you need to A. Avoid your apponent beating the sword aside. & B. Withdraw to a protected position before the second sword lands.
as a duel wielder idk what that guy was doing you gotta start like you only using one atfirst but keep the 2nd one available then parry w the first sword then atk w second or attack w first the defend w 2nd under practically no circumstance should the swords have the same position or motion
I'm trying to learn this skill, I'm very ambidextrous (except for scissors) I generally, keep one sword back and one sword threatening. If you have any good recommended watching, I'd love it.

Being a leftie has limited advantages when fighting a windmill 😆

@@sunstarsseekersanctuary4241 Have you looked into Godinho's dos espadas? The guard at 7:39 looks a lot like a guard from it.
