- In this video you can enjoy the cab ride - train driver's view from Pontresina (1774 m) to Scuol-Tarasp (1286 m) in Switzerland on the Rhaetian Railway train along the Bever-Scuol-Tarasp railway line and the Samedan-Pontresina railway in the resolution of 4K/60 frames per second.
The Bever-Scuol-Tarasp railway-also called the Engadinerbahn (Engadine Railway) is a Swiss metre-gauge railway, which is operated by the Rhaetian Railway (Rhätischen Bahn; RhB) and connects the Lower Engadine with the Albula Railway. The Samedan-Pontresina railway is often also considered part of the line. Both lines are closely linked with each other. The Bever-Scuol-Tarasp railway is part of the RhB mainline network, so the kilometrage (chainage) has its zero point in Landquart. The Samedan-Pontresina railway runs through the Upper Engadine, connects Samedan with Pontresina, and provides a link between the Albula Railway and the Bernina Railway.

A nice video along the mountainous and snowy stretch of the Upper Engadine. Zernez, Zuoz, in the land where Romansh is spoken. Until you get to Scuol Tarasp, where there is a beautiful castle. A short but beautiful video on a fairly straight route with viaducts suspended in the middle of snow-covered forests! Originally the railway was supposed to join along the Inn Valley at Landeck in Tyrol. So good!

I have a similar whistle from the window when a strong wind blows, but I want to make a small crack so that fresh air enters the room. I know that in the video it's because the camera is outside, I read the comments. But the sound reminded me of my situation ))

Limited space in Tunnels - so conductor rail is used as it takes much less space.

It's a bad door or window seal. Clue: it cannot be heard at low speed.
@tomcarr1358 thanks. That did cross my mind but, because the whistle stopped while going round bends made me lean more to breaks or even if it was the camera placed outside of the engine. Thanks again for your comment.

@RailRelaxation try placing a cotton ball over the microphone, you can tape it to the sides, works a treat 👍
Not a problem. The picture quality is superb. Some us will be grumbling about the flange grinding on the corners next Very much appreciate the notes about the various spurs and junctions, bridges, viaducts and tunnels and seeing the 'plane landing at the airport.
This is probably a dumb question but what keeps the rails snow free when the snow is piled high on both sides. Why are the rails not covered in snow?
Snow plough. A specialised train that runs the track where snow is the highest, you can usually see them parked up on another rail sideline. Also, some trains carry their own plough, have a look at the pictures of other trains on the line.

@johnn17golf the 6:55 is just a shunter, it moves goods around, usually in docks or freight depots. The other does show a small snowplough 👍
@@More-Space-In-Ear the shunter has a small plough too. These are not the ones used to clear a fresh snowfall, of course, but are used to clears light accumulations and drifting snow after the main plough has been through. Including on the shunter, which is also a train

Molto interessante anche questo; effettivamente m'ero sempre chiesto come fosse la linea che si diramava da Pontresina, avendo sempre percorso la classica in direzione St. Moritz.

That high pitch whistling is annoying as hell. I don't understand why the camera is outside. The wind alone mutes almost all other sounds.
@Terepin64 Sorry for that. But the camera is outside because of the quality of the picture and the wind noise is a trade off between the picture and the sound. I am figuring out the solution.
