    About Scoot (from Wikipedia):
    Scoot Pte Ltd, operating as Scoot, is a Singaporean low-cost airline and a wholly owned subsidiary of Singapore Airlines. It began its operations on 4 June 2012 on medium and long-haul routes from Singapore, predominantly to various airports throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Scoot's airline slogan is Escape the Ordinary.
    Initially, Scoot's fleet consisted of Boeing 777-200ER aircraft that were obtained from its parent company, Singapore Airlines. In 2015, the airline began to transition its long-haul fleet to the Boeing 787 Dreamliners. Scoot uses the Airbus A320 and the Airbus A320neo family for its short-haul flights.
    On 25 July 2017, Tigerair, another low-cost Singaporean airline, officially merged with Scoot, and its operations were absorbed into Scoot with the use of its air operator's certificate (AOC) to consolidate the low-cost airline business. With the change of AOC, the airline's IATA code was changed from TZ to TR, and its ICAO code was changed from SCO to TGW, previously used by Tigerair. However, the Scootbrand and the Scooter callsign were retained. Its head office is at Changi Airport.
    About the Airbus A321neo (from Wikipedia):
    This lengthened fuselage variant has structural strengthening in the landing gear and wing, increased wing loadingand other minor modifications due to higher Maximum Takeoff Weight (MTOW).
    Its first customer was ILFC. The Airbus A321neo prototype, D-AVXB, first flew on 9 February 2016. It suffered a tailstrike three days later and was flown to Toulouse for repairs, delaying the certification programme for several weeks.
    By January 2018, the A321neo had received 1,920 orders, exceeding orders for the A321ceo. By this time the A321neo accounted for 32% of all A320neo family orders, whereas the original A321 represented just 22% of A320ceo family orders. By July 2022, the A321neo represented over 53% of all A320neo family orders. A stretch would probably involve fore and aft plugs to keep its centre-of-gravity, but tailstrike clearance could constrain field speed and performance and a larger aircraft could need more powerful engines, while further cabin crew would be needed over 250 seats. In 2018, an A321neo list price was US$129.5 million.

      @lizzy9975 to be fair i usually fly business and had to take scoot plus last minute, i felt they set the air conditioning to an incredibly low temperature (to sell blankets) when i told staff it was freezing and everyone is shivering they laughed at me, the food served on board i took one bite and couldnt eat any more, seat wasnt very comfortable just vinyl.. youd have to carry me on board to ever get me back on a scoot flight

    just the baggage allowance alone makes it worth it, My cabin baggage is around 10kg combined (Laptop Bag and Backpack) so Scoot is the only budget one to have said allowance.

    Completely disagree - Air Asia is by far better than Scoot for numerous reasons:
    - Punctuality, 9 out of my last 10 Air Asia flights were on time or ahead of schedule. Scoot - not a single flight on time
    - Aircraft upkeep: you were lucky to have a new plane on this flight - most Scoot planes I have recently seen look very dated with the paint jobs in such a dire strait that one wonders how other areas of their maintenance work
    - food: far cheaper and more delicious on AirAsia
    - crew: both are fine (after all we are in Asia), bit still I find the Thai Air Asia staff to be more charming
    - airport: Don Muang airport, while old, is so much better as the immigration is a lot faster than at Suvarnabhumi
    In summary Air Asia wins hands down for me. But good that different people have different views, if all would follow my views Air Asia’s prices would be as outrageous as Scoots and i5 would be more difficult to book them.

    I'm just off an 11hr long haul scoot flight. NOT GOOD. They should not do long haul

    • @theRealJohnnyG.
      @theRealJohnnyG.  Год назад

      Yes, long haul is a whole different story, I guess. They don't even have an in-flight entertainment system on their 787, right?

    • @cheftequila
      @cheftequila Год назад +1

      No they don't. Horrible seats also. Pay for everything even water. Always delayed. I'm broken after it. I mean I know its low cost and you can bring your own entertainment and sneak food on but its still not worth it.

    • @stevenelson3515

      The only way to do Scoot long haul is to pay more for Scoot Plus, their premium economy offering. It includes seat selection, luggage and a meal. The seats have decent pitch and recline. WiFi is included, though it’s only 30MB. So bring your own entertainment onboard if you do book it.
      At 6’2” tall, my limit on Scoot short haul is Singapore to Bangkok. 28” seat pitch is an absolute killer. Plus, if you have luggage you want to check in, always compare the mainline carriers to your destination. We’ve found that Thai often has comparable fares to Bangkok if lugge is included. It’s a far more comfortable ride for those of us in the tall category.

    Scoot lost my Armani coat, which was in the checked-in luggage, and they refused to compensate for the loss. I followed all the steps and provided all the supporting documents, but the airline refused to compensate for the lost item without explaining why.
    What is even worse is that Scoot keeps wasting your time by repeating "you should do this and you should do that" again and again. For more than a month, I have been trying to talk to the department which is in charge of this matter, but no one was available.
    In summary, AVOID SCOOT AT ALL COST if you value your time and money.

    • @theRealJohnnyG.
      @theRealJohnnyG.  10 месяцев назад +1

      That must be frustrating. A bad customer support can rally destroy all the benefits of a good hard and soft product in the air... I hope you'll eventually receive a compensation or your coat. If the flight was from or to an EU country, you may try airhelp.

      @@theRealJohnnyG. Thank you very much for your kind words. At the moment, I am not sure if "trying to get a fair compensation for the loss" is worth my time and efforts because it will probably require tens or hundreds of emails,. All I can do is to let people know what can potentially happen if they use and discourage them from flying Scoot as much as possible.

      Your Armani coat was in your luggage and you lost it? or did you lose the entire luggage? story doesn't add up here. It's easy to trash out a negative story to fit your agenda.
      Every checked-in luggage comes with a tag and serial no. tied to it, and any loss/damage to the luggage by the airport's baggage handlers can be accounted for, and with this "supporting document", make a claim to your travel insurance.
      Story sounds more like you received your checked-in luggage, and could not find your coat anywhere in it, whilst not remembering whether you packed it in or left it in the hotel room, you chose to push the blame to scoot and demand "compensation".

      @@Sha-vf3tb Read my original comment again before making false accusations on purpose. I suspect you are affiliated with Scoot in one way or another. In other words, don't bother innocent people with your evil mouth.
