The Sims 2 is a 2004 strategic life simulation video game developed by Maxis and published by Electronic Arts. It is the second major title in The Sims series, and is the sequel to The Sims. The game was released for Microsoft Windows on September 14, 2004, and a port for MacOS was released on June 17, 2005. Eight expansion packs and nine "stuff packs" were subsequently released between 2005 and 2008.

@@elliotgillum I saw Kevin at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical interference,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
@annavmae You must of done something to him. When i met Kevin he held me closely in his arms and whispered sweet nothings in my ear as i slowly fell asleep in his lap.

I’d love to see zombie Agner become a recurring character in the Pickens multiverse. His calm resignation is a nice foil to Jim’s manic sociopathy
Theres clearly a theme going on with The Sims 2, insane kidnappers obsessed with grilled cheese and their zombie lovers/prisoners. Agner (by the way, wonder where Kevin got him from, no way he went to the trouble of creating all those sims) isnt as iconic as Vidcund, but how normal he is does add to the contrast with Jim. They both would be a welcome addition to the cult in Sims 4, theres always room for more in the basement.
I expected most of the patients wouldn't survive but I didn't expect you'd have to 'refill' the asylum.
Mine didn't survive either, but it didn't even occur to me to refill the asylum! I just went forward with a houseful of ghosts! :P
As someone who's been in a psych ward once and who's also an avid CallmeKevin enjoyer, I can already tell that this is going to be very accurate and not at all dark and disturbing. ☺
Especially the gorilla room. Every psych ward worth their salt has one of those.

Anyway, I remember so many tips and rules. Like the first thing you do when you start is put the tv on the cooking channel and invite all the patients to watch with you, therefore everyone ends with at least 1 cooking skill point to begin with. Also, always put the oven separated from everything, and get a parrot so patients will skill up charisma autonomously 😅
I remember there being a HARD rule (that Kevin apparently forgot) that when someone in the challenge dies you delete a bed...

Glad to see someone else appreciates the subtle beauty of a gorilla room. My wife was a little hesitant when we installed ours, but after all those helicopters almost flew into it, she started to come around.
Can't wait for Kevin to make a rental house in the sims 4 for the mole people.

Kevin, if you need someone to come over just call for pizza, you're solving two problems without anyone having to start a fire. It's how I feed vampires when it's sunny outside. Vampire household has a suspicious amount of pizza that just goes bad unless they live with a handy magic user to cast spells to bring them back when they dumbass themselves to death.

Agner was such a sweetheart. Even when dead. He and Jim were good for another
You can tell how much Jim took a liking to Agner by the way he actually bother to bring him back both times he died. Granted, he didnt care enough to try to avoid his dead both times, instead falling to even notice it twice. But still, its a lot coming from Jim. And really, anyone who willingly puts up with Jims bullshit is good for him. Extra points for effectively becoming his servant without needing to be cast away to the basement (though maybe if there was one he would have).

I love how the Christmas stereo always is played of like, "oh, how quirky and strange it's here" like it isn't one of staple-characters of any sims 2 video by this point.

I loved and hated this challenge in ts4. Of course Kevin does it in ts2, truly an insane asylum challenge. We had our favorite repeat character, not Jim, but the bloody Snowman speaker. Somewhere Default is actually feeling something everytime one plays. :) Tis the season.
I was waiting for kevin to discover the fire people, the first time i played sims i called the fire people because I purposely set the house on fire, then preceded to invite the firefighter lady over for a week straight of watching movies and cooking and showering lol
i'm 300ish hours into Baldurs Gate 3, patch 5 just dropped, and Kevins got me wanting to play sims all of a sudden. Touche

Idk if you knew this, but in the sims 3 if you get your handiness skill up to 10, you can bring the miner with you to the police station. Using it at at said place will allow you to free criminals. They will reward you if you go to their hideout.
i was literally watching the mole person video this morning and thinking that kevin would love doing the asylum challenge, its always SO chaotic and fun, but im also a little spooked now bc how is kevin in my brain
I never tried this in Sims 2 (partly because I only ever owned the console version of 1 and 2), but my first Sims 3 playthrough on PC was this challenge. I've done it several times since both in that game and Sims 4. Any sort of "everyone else in the household is uncontrolled" challenge can be pretty awful in Sims 4 because of how horrid its autonomy is, but them's the breaks. Challenges like that are literally the only time I ever play with autonomy on in Sims 4 (but I keep it off for my controlled sim).
I love how vermin are one of those things which Sims in TS2 will obsess over yet practically never do anything about autonomously (like house fires) so the inmates all just gather in the yard to gormlessly trudge around the contamination zone, ignoring the pile of rancid garbage that spawned the roaches in the first place
As someone who spent some time in a psychatric hospital I can tell you - this is better than the real stuff lmao! (fuk the medical system xD)

I love how much chaos is called by Jim/Kevin just not knowing to keep up with household responsibilities like paying bills, picking up trash, ordering groceries, or cleaning.
To be fair, its kinda hard to keep up with all that when dealing with so many sims you cant control. It may have been a diferent story if he could use the rest of the household. Knowing Kevin, it probably wouldnt, most likely would have end the same way. But still, this is one time we cant put all the blame on Kevins general incompetence.

Ah, Kevin is back with more Sims and I don't know if I should be excited or concerned.
I had a room in the Sims that just had a bath too. It was a retirement home, one of the rules I had was they couldn't have a bath unattended, so I locked it and the adjoining room (that only a chair) so when ever they had a bath the caretaker was just in the next room.

It's awesome to see Kevin take on the asylum challenge! I did this challenge in The Sims 3, and it was hilarious! One of the patients spontaneously combusted next to the pool and just stood there with her booty on fire until the grim reaper came for her. The next day another patient started a kitchen fire that claimed the lives of two other patients. And one patient kept running around starting fights with everyone and making goofy faces at herself in the mirror. Such a fun challenge!
