Yeah, I have missed seeing your videos. I have been a fan since the beginning and I smiled when I saw the "Moon Dust Sandpaper" t-shirt. I always laughed when you told your kids that.
We have missed the StoneHouse humor. Let's get back to daily videos now. Or weekly. Or semi-weekly. Just not every few months. You can always make vids on kid activities. 👍👍👍
Hey, it’s more about having something to share for us and we haven’t been working on the house a lot. That’s going to change soon and I hope to get to biweekly videos
Place a 1x4 board on top of the bottom rails of the cage before taking off the filters in the future. It will help prevent the filters from falling all the way to the basement floor.
The pressure guages will show the pressure drop across the filters that indicate how clogged the filters are and help to determine when the filters need changed.
You & Sarah crack me up... And I think you owe us one more snap of the suspenders... You said 2 snaps of them but only snapped both of them once🤔🤔😂. I think Sarah will agree with me. Hoping all is well guys, Dirty Jersey out!!
Years ago I installed a whole house filter inline before going to anything. I should have installed a pressure regulator. It blew my O rings in the filter apart. Flooded my house while I was gone! Live and learn!
You need the pressure gauges to measure the differential pressure across each filter. A high differential pressure indicates when a filter is getting plugged up.
Hi there, great you're back. The pressure gauge 5:50 is there for you to see if one of the filters is full and wich one is full. Edit: 11:00 the stuff in the particle filter is not the problem. You probably will never get that in your glas of water because your taps have filters as well. This is only to safe your system from this debris. Your dishwasher, your washing machine etc The stuff you *don't* see is the stuff that makes you sick. Like what the other both filters beware you of. Greetings from Germany, the tap water country 😂
I would incorporate a 3 valve bypass for the filter system. If something happens such as a bad leak that way you can bypass the system and repair it at your leisure.
I have multiple wells on my property. Before I moved back here, I'd been very anemic with my first pregnancy ... but after drinking the well water for 18 months, my iron levels were great with my second child. Unfortunately, that well also had a lot of sulfur and red clay .... The best thing I ever did was filter it. Now that I am using one of the other wells, I no longer have sulfur ... but I do filter for sand - - Whole house filter systems are GREAT!!
I have a similar system at my house, but only one filter, and let me tell you right now at spring time I have a lot coming from my natural weld. If I can give you a little tip, put a piece of tape on the first container and wrote the date you change your filter, On my system they sugest me to change it every 3 months, but could NEVER remember when I did it ;) ;) ;) Now with the date on it, much easier for me to remember ;) ;) If I was you, I would go and check all your foset of your house to check if you don't have any piece of what you found in your water, you have a little screen at the end of the foset, could be ineresting if you have it clean. Thank for the video, always enjoy them.
It will be interesting to see the filters in a couple of months. In Arizona almost every house has a whole house water filter because of minerals in our water.
Just think if you had mounted that unit near the floor, you could read the gauges and dropping the filter wouldn't be such a worry. BTW, a variance in those gauges COULD point out that a filter might need changed (if the pressure is abnormal compared to the others.
I can only imagine what my filter would look like. We use a Berkey and the gunk on it is incredible. I know you guys will be filming the house reno but will you be doing a garden/backyard video of you doing stuff back there? That be cool to see!
Sarah’s mom has a Berkey. She got a new well drilled and it has been full of sediment and terrible. For over $15,000 she is not pleased. Might try to get her one of these.
Probably extended the life of your washing machine, coffee machine and or any machine you put water in. We have amazing and very soft water in Scotland but, and I don’t quite know why, I still use a filter jug for drinking water. I know I have never had to descale an electric kettle or any other appliances.
When you showed the inside of the casing for the middle filter to show no sediment, I saw a few dark specs. Then I realized it was dirt on my computer screen. LOL
It has been so long since I viewed your heating system install but I wonder if you could find a way to filter that water even tho the system is up and running… like a once a year filtration or something. Welker Farms boys both recently built homes with a system like yours, mind boggling for me to try and follow any of it, lol, but I believe one of them had a dedicated water filtration for the system. Anyhow thanks for sharing good to see you all!
Missed seeing you guys. Looking forward to more progress on your current project. Was wondering a couple of things about the water filter system. First, how long on average will the filters last? And second, do you know how much they cost to replace? Thanks.
Do you have rust? Would love to know if it helps with rust stains. We have a 1 stage whole house filter before the pressure tank and an under sink filter with a drinking faucet. We still get rust stains in the bathtub and toilet.
Couple reasons: ( not being rude here, just explaining the best I can ) 1: we haven’t been working on the house a lot this winter. 2: we’re running low of money. 3: RUclips is just a hobby for me.. I’m not going to force content to make an extra 20 bucks in ad revenue.. hope that all makes sense 👍👍👍
Wouldn’t this be best post water softener? To me it’s a more extensive filter so to clog it up more rapidly with the pure well water seems to be not optimal. Could be wrong very curious
Jumping in here with my well/whole house filter experience. We run a separate in house faucet for drinking well water and the rest of the house gets softened water. Having the whole house filter directly off the pressure tank filters all water coming into the house.

Ok your filters are to high they should be level with the tank or lower, you need to see the gages at all times. Also put some treatment in the well twice a year.
We call it shocking the well. Depends on your water quality how often to do it. For us it is one gallon bleach down the exterior well pipe no water run for 24 hours (have to preplan if you have livestock) then flush the system all faucets and spigots open until bleach odor diminishes.
I don’t want to put anything like bleach in my well.. maybe that’s needed in some areas.. but northern New York ( my area) has the best water.. and that’s not needed.. thankfully
For sure, I was more replying to robingillespie and shocking the well is common for bacteria control in some parts of the country. Basically a chlorine treatment. Lol. 👍🏻 @@1806StoneHouse

You’re 100% correct ✅
I was going to ask the question when do you change the filters and you just answered that
At least it cleans as it goes that’s the sad part about our RO system 2 gallons of waste of water to 1 gallon of drink water
@danlott71 exactly. I just wrote the same comment 😂
Always excited when I get a notification from Stone House. Glad you're happy with the filter system. Looking forward to seeing progress on the house.
Lucas you may want to check the ends of all you faucets. They have a wire filter on each one you will be surprised!❤😊
I was just coming to say that. Raised with a well and we cleaned those wire filters monthly. All the sinks and the washing machine had them.
You & Sarah crack me up... And I think you owe us one more snap of the suspenders... You said 2 snaps of them but only snapped both of them once🤔🤔😂. I think Sarah will agree with me. Hoping all is well guys, Dirty Jersey out!!
Sarah would probably love to snap my suspenders… hahaha
Yipppeee, Missed you all!
Installing a Spin-down Pre-filter will greatly extend the life of all your other filters. Nice work on your install!
I actually might do that! Thanks
Looking forward to ur progress on the newest renovation

You need the pressure gauges to measure the differential pressure across each filter. A high differential pressure indicates when a filter is getting plugged up.
Good to know!
Nice, I figure if I change out all my pipes in my 60 year old house, I’ll get this type of pre filter. Good product.

Get a spin down filter and add it just prior to the three stage filter. It will extend the life of your first stage significantly.
That’s definitely a good idea

check your aerators on all your faucets

That’s exactly correct.. those gauges are more useful than I assumed
For kitchen and bathroom sink, sclean out the screens on the faucets if you haven't already, now they won't collect as much as before.
We must have esp because I was thinking about you just yesterday. Hope things are going well and looking forward to a new video. 😊😊

Seems to do it's job properly. Thanks for showing us Lucas. 😁👍🏼😁👍🏼

Haha
Welcome back!
I have a small sediment filter. It’s always nasty when I change the filter.
Excellence. Awesomeness. Love it all!❤
The pressures will tell you which (if any) of the filters are plugged
Aaahhh. Good point. They aren’t for nothing.

I don’t think we have a lot of rust or iron in our system.. a see a little.. no stains tho
Have you ever had your well water tested?
Yeah, when we got the softener it was tested for hardness ( I think it was around a 7 ) not too bad really

Great video! Can this be used for Fulltime rv living? Can a hose be connected to this?
Yeah, it’s a standard fitting and a hose should have enough pressure
Perhaps it's mounted too high.
Yeah, that’s where my main water line is.
👍
My system is not even a month old and already losing pressure. I had my water tested and no major concerns. What is the issue?
What’s loosing pressure?
Replaced my filters and everything is okay so far. Figured that was because the well hadn’t been ran since 2016
@@OkieOutdoorsTV that’s good to hear that it’s working. I’m assuming the filters looked pretty clogged then.?
Very
Is it better to put the filter before or after the water softener? Mine is currently installed after my softener and iron filters.
Not sure if it matters.. we have notice zero difference in taste really.. just knowing the filter is before my mechanical things is good for me.
Aren't those filters backwards? Is the sediment filter first or last?
I just went by the “in” and “out” stickers. It makes sense the large sediment filter would be first tho.
