Very cool! I would absolutely love to do this but never knew how it would actually work. Have been a fan for years. Love Japan and the people there. Thank you so much for posting this!
I've been to live sumo 4 times in Japan. I am a big fan. The seats at the Fukuoka arena are molded plastic and were quite uncomfortable for me. I am not a large person at all. I strongly suggest bringing a seat cushion. Your video was a great overview!
Thank you for the video, I will be in Japan this autumn and Sumo is my bucket list. I was googling their site and stated the tournament is from 10/11-24/11, my question is do they have match from 10/11 (Fukuoka) and the final (grand final) on 24/11?
That’s awesome! From my understanding, there are full day matches everyday during the 2 weeks of the tournament. I’m assuming they would have them on the 10/11 date and the 24/11 date.. when buying tickets I’m sure you’ll see if those dates are available! If you’re not in Fukuoka exactly on those dates, I know you can still see sumo practices in Tokyo and places like that.. but if there’s a tournament going on, all the sumo wrestlers will be in that location. We tried to see them practice in Tokyo once, but it was during a tournament elsewhere so it was impossible 🤷🏻♀️ does that answer your question?
Hi, thanks for watching! We like the winter and colder weather, so we think it felt fantastic. I think it ranges near 45-60°F in November, so definitely colder than Okinawa in the winter. We wore coats the whole time, but it wasn't freezing cold. Inside the sumo stadium I think the temperature was comfortable and we could take our coats off. A lot of the Christmas markets in Fukuoka open in mid-November, so the weather adds to the holiday cheer. Hope this helps!
Hi! We were openly taking photos/videos on our phones and using our GoPro and there were no issues. If you're bringing anything crazy I would check about that with the venue ahead of time!

Thanks so much! Are all the seats like that? Or it is just in Fukuoka? They were very uncomfortable!

Thank you for the video how was the weather in November? Was it very cold? We want to go but worry about the weather for our baby. We live in Okinawa.

Any photo limitations?
