AYA Medal of Honor for Mr. Momodou Sabally, The Gambia, for his contribution to Africa's development

Momodou SABALLY
Former Presidential Affairs Minister, and Founder-President, Sabally Leadership Academy (SLA), Momodou Sabally is a prolific author, motivational speaker and leadership coach.
With a Bachelor's degree in mathematics and Masters in Economic Policy, Sabally is a macro-economist with a decade's experience at the Central Bank of The Gambia. He later became national Budget Director at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs.
He has received extensive training in Economic policy from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Institute, the West African Institute for Financial and Economic Management (WAIFEM) as well the the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
While serving in Government, he traveled extensively to represent The Gambia in internal conventions like the UN General Assembly and African Union Summits. He has served as top envoy for The Gambia to meet world leaders like Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Egyptian President General Abdul Fatah Al-sisi
Sabally is also former Director General of The Gambia Radio and Television Services as well as Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief of the Observer Company.
He is the founder of the youth empowerment foundation, Sabally Leadership Academy (SLA) that does mentorship and leadership training for young people.
The foundation also does sensitization on peaceful coexistence, community development and environmental protection through its musical outfit, the SLA Cultural Choir.
A well sought after international speaker, SABALLY has served as keynote speaker and motivational trainer in several top forums like the summit of the All African Student Union in Rwanda, World Youth Summit in Egypt, and the African Youth Action Network in Illorin, Nigeria.
