    The BVM, as Our Lady of Good Success had already in 1610, prophesied the presence and ascending of 'the Freemasons' which she had identified by name, before they existed. Pope John XXIII has since been outed as a practising Freemason during his papacy. Pope Leo XIII's vision made into the famous Prayer to St. Michael(full version) indicates the seat of Peter been usurped, by the Antichrist. All that needs taken into account in our time.
    Great discussion. Thank you. Subscribed😊

    • @Mark3ABE

      Is there any concrete evidence, at all, that Pope John XXIII was a Freemason? How would this have been possible? His life was lived in the full public gaze, even before he was, Pope, as Cardinal Patriarch of Venice. How on earth could he ever have found the time to comply with all the requirements of joining a Masonic Lodge? How could he ever have attended a Lodge Meeting, without someone noticing? It is a laughable suggestion.

      I am a Protestant and I was advised to read the following: Jesus and the Jewish Roots of Mary by Brant Pitre, --- Catholicism, A Journey to the Heart of the Faith by Robert Barron, --- The Catholic Catechism, and Principles of Catholic Theology byJoseph Ratzinger. Since the whole Covid debacle, I've been listening and watching Catholic presentations along with my Protestant preachers. I've been watching Fulton Sheen's messages and they are good. I just started reading the first book as this is my first big issue with Catholicism, but honestly, the reason I am looking into all this is I find the Protestant Church to be a total mess here in the US.

    • @Mark3ABE
      @Mark3ABE 4 месяца назад

      @@drewb207 The Catechism is very sound. It would be very useful, if you can afford it, to buy the Divine Office. In England this is a three volume set called “The Divine Office” and, in the USA, is, I think a four volume set called “The Liturgy of the Hours”. This is mainly selected readings from the Sacred Scriptures, but also includes readings from the Church Fathers. As with the Catechism, it is entirely free from error. Then, the Sunday Lectionary and the Week Day Lectionary are valuable resources - it means that you can read the same readings every day as the whole Church is reading. As a Protestant, you are probably more interested in the finer points of Theology, however, the Catholic Church is set up in such a way that the life of the Church is settled by means of the Liturgy - the readings for the Mass of the day, the readings from the Church Fathers from the Office for the day, etc. The life of the Church is centred around the Eucharist - the reason the Mass contains so many set prayers, the Confetior, the Gloria, the Creed, the Angus Dei, the Domine Non Sum Dignis etc is that the Church wishes to keep the Faithful continuously centred around the truths of the Faith. Then, of course, there are the Feasts - not only Christmas, Easter, Pentecost etc but the lives of the Saints etc. This is where the life and belief of the Church is to be found. Looking on from outside, most people think that the basis of the Catholic Church is the dogma of Papal Infallibility. When my father received instruction before he entered the Church, the Priest stressed this as the most important dogma of the Church, apart of course, from the Real Presence. However, this particular dogma was only defined in 1870 and, in the following 150 years has never actually been used. The real centre of the Catholic Faith is not, in fact, the Papacy, but the Eucharist and the dogmatic definitions of the major Ecumenical Councils of the Church over the centuries. In many ways, I am quite envious of the Eastern Orthodox Churches, since they consider that, after the Great Schism of 1054, there could be no further Ecumenical Councils, since such a Council would require every Bishop, from both East and West to attend, as in the past, and this was no longer possible. So, that is their “cut off” - everything remains just as it was in 1054.

    An excellent discussion. Those entering the Catholic Church do, of course, face a Church which is in the course of radically changing its beliefs and Theology. At our local Parish, a recent homily espoused the ‘evolutionist” theology of Pierre Teilard de Chardin. This proposes the teaching that we need do nothing - creation will evolve, eventually, to bring about Heaven on earth. This theology includes no concept of sin, repentance, death, judgment, heaven, hell or a final judgement and the destruction of the present creation and a new heaven and a new earth. Love ceases to be considered as a divine and human essential - it becomes part of a universal creative force. The Holy Office condemned this and all other teachings by Pierre Teilard de Charin in 1962. This condemnation was repeated in 2009. However, Pope Francis is rumoured to favour these particular heresies - there is no literal hell, evolution will perfect creation and we shall all end up in the best of all possible worlds, whatever we do and however we may live our lives. So, what do you learned gentleman advise? Should I go to a Church where error, clearly condemned by the Holy Office in 1962 and still officially condemned by the Church is openly preached from the pulpit, deceiving the Faithful and leading them away from the truths which bring salvation? Then, our local Parish is advised that the levy by the Archdiocese will increase by 84% this year. The funds are needed to pay compensation for the victims of sex abuse, legal costs to defend the accused perpetrators of this abuse and to provide homes and pensions for the clergy no longer permitted to serve because of their involvement in such crimes. This is the Church into which converts such as yourselves have come.

    Dr. Ashenden (you say that you find it overly familiar for others to refer to you as Gavin, although my natural way of referring to a fellow Christian is by his Christian name) and the Hon. Mr Farmer (who might, of course, not be quite so fussy but to whom I shall accord the same level as formality to avoid giving offence) the difficulty which you both face is this. You have entered the One Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church and have agreed to submit to the “Magisterium”. Yet, currently, the “Magisterium” is a Bishop of Rome who wishes to introduce doubt, ambiguity, uncertainty and doubt into the Church. Who uses bad language and, when upbraided for doing so, stubbornly refuses to repent and uses it again. Who is cruel, vindictive and actively seeks to destroy and silence those who uphold the truths of the Faith, for example, Cardinal Burke and Bishop Strickland. Who actively encourages a Pagan Priestess to set up a carved wooden idol in the grounds of the Vatican and who stands by, approving, as her devotees fall down to the ground and worship the goddess of Mother Earth. Who worships that goddess himself, devoting himself to issue such as climate change and the destruction of the rain forest (of some importance, of course, but of no interest to a Christian leader - “let the men of this world be concerned with this world’s affairs”.) So, you encourage devotion and loyalty to such a man. Does that present a problem? Does your encouragement of devotion to such a man actually assist that man in his aim of destroying the Faith by introducing doubt, confusion and ambiguity into the Church? We should be prepared to call a spade a spade. Then, when someone like Calvin Robinson, who wishes to be a good Catholic, says that he could never submit to the authority of such a man himself, because he is seeking to destroy the Faith, you are highly critical of him for not joining you in your devotion and loyalty to such a man. You accuse Calvin Robinson of lack of integrity for failing to submit to the authority of such a man. If you are entirely honest, is there not an element of lack of integrity in encouraging the Faithful to submit to the “Magisterium” of a man Hell bent on bringing the Church to destruction? A hundred years ago, your views might have carried some weight. However, we are now in the Last Days, when Our Lord himself and the Catechism itself says that a “man of sin” will arise trying to lead the Faithful away from the Lord. We live in difficult times and it is not a case of encouraging everyone to submit blindly to the authority of George Bergoglio.

Candace, however is in neverending conflict with literally everyone, stirring conflict, acting as some political savant about matters she does not understand, her potty mouth, slander, gossip. These are done deliberately. Who are you to speak about me in such matter. I am no public figure and have given you no personal information for you to state such blatant lies. Some Protestants believe in infant baptism. Some deny that the practice can ever be justified. Neither group like the other group. Similarly, on so many points of doctrine. So, while, in theory, if all Christians did submit simply to the authority of Holy Writ, they would make up one, happy, united Church, experience, since the Reformation, has shown that reality is quite otherwise!

The man who blew up the mosque in Christchurch said that she was his inspiration! One of the dangers of being in the public eye, I suppose. By the way, George, probably best to wait until you are fifty before donning a mustard coloured cardy.

    Protestant response. There is so much misinformation going on here and so much of the standard anti-Protestant caricatures, that I don’t know where to begin to challenge you on your assertions. I will just say that I reject the vast majority of your assertions with regard to the historic Protestant tradition. You are both very bright and well informed gentleman. Surely you can do better than this.

      According to Lumen Gentium, Protestants are still going to Heaven, so I look forward to meeting you there! As Pope John XXIII was fond of saying, “the walls don’t reach to heaven”. Since you a I shall be spending eternity together, it might be just as well to be on friendly terms in advance.

      @@Mark3ABE How kind of you brother! Fortunately being a Protestant or Roman Catholic has nothing to do with our arrival into heaven. However I totally agree that there will be a great multitude of both in heaven many of whom will be shocked to see the other there. 😉. See this quote from an historic Protestant theological formulary: “The catholic-that is, universal-church consists of the FULL NUMBER of the elect who have been, are, or will be gathered into one under Christ her head. The church is the spouse, the body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.” Blessings friend!

      Wasn't Protestantism essentially against the idea of tradition?

    • @paulsmallwood1484
      @paulsmallwood1484 4 месяца назад

      @@eliezinaty No. not at all. The problem arose with the idea that tradition is equal in authority to scripture and that it is also infallible. The reformers believed that tradition is not infallible and is subordinate to scripture and subject to correction by scripture. Tradition is not infallible while scripture is. Tradition is authoritative but it is a subordinate authority to the ultimate and only infallible authority namely scripture. Protestants believe that the apostolic teaching was completely enscripturated. None remained in oral form. It was all written down.

    • @Mark3ABE
      @Mark3ABE 4 месяца назад

      @@eliezinaty It varies a lot. Some Protestants do believe in the authority of the first seven Ecumenical Councils (before the Great Schism) because they accept that the doctrine of the Trinity and of the Divinity of Christ and similar doctrines are not clearly set out in the Sacred Scriptures, but only implicit. Essentially, the main tenet of Protestantism is a total rejection of the Petrine Ministry. Some Protestants accept Apostolic Succession and the Eucharist.

    The Holy Catholic Church is different from the Roman Catholic Church. Which church does Farmer and his wife belong to? If it is the RC church, then their allegiance is to the Pope, not to God.

    • @Mark3ABE
      @Mark3ABE 4 месяца назад +1

      This is not the case. While the Pope is the “Ordinary” in the Latin Rite of the West Church and so the Faithful must submit to him in matters of Church discipline, he is not, of course the “Head of the Church”. Jesus Christ alone is the Head of his Church. All Catholics, all Christians, are committed to allegiance to Jesus Christ. As we are warned in Sacred Scripture “Cursed by the man who trusts in man, who makes flesh his arm.” The Pope is only a man - sometimes a good man, sometimes not such a good man. To profess “allegiance” to a mere man would be blasphemous. Nevertheless, he is the “Ordinary” in the Latin Rite, so the Faithful in that Rite must submit to his administrative decisions, whether or not they would have made the same decision themselves, if they had been the Pope. The purpose of an “Ordinary” whether in a local Diocese, or in the larger Church, is to maintain order. The Church does have a human dimension to it and the Faithful must submit to the Ordinary for the purpose of maintaining proper order in the Church.
