    Mon Medical College expected to complete by Nov 2026
    25% physical work progress completed
    On Saturday, November 23, Minister of Health & Family Welfare, P. #Paiwang Konyak, alongside key officials including the Commissioner & Secretary of H&FW, PD, and members of the district and police administration, visited the ongoing construction site of the #Mon #Medical #College.
    The project is progressing well, with 25% of the physical work completed. The college, which is expected to be completed by November 2026, will be constructed on a 93-acre site with an estimated cost of Rs. 325 crore (90:10 funding ratio).
    The Mon Medical College is a major initiative aimed at improving healthcare infrastructure and medical education in the region, complementing the NIMSR in Kohima. The facility will feature state-of-the-art infrastructure, including a helipad.
    The contractors briefed the minister on the progress, with Er. #Akang Jamir confirmed that the project is on track to meet the November 2026 deadline. As of now, the state government has received Rs. 242.5 crore of the central share, with financial progress at 10% and physical progress at 25%.
    Jamir also thanked the local communities, including the Konyak Civil Societies and Village Councils, for their support in ensuring the smooth continuation of the construction.
    The foundation stone for the Mon Medical College was laid by Union Health Minister, Dr. Harsh Vardhan, on February 26, 2021.
