Super idea to plant out a spread of the different types of Trachycarpus at the same time, Kris. After five years the visual image of the differences is now very enlightening.
I'm suspecting the 6th year update of this video should be coming any day now. Very excited to see how the fast-growing princeps hybrid and nova are doing, they're two of my favorites. Thank you for providing some of the best content on Trachycarpus palms on the whole internet. Absolutely love your beautiful Trachycarpus garden.
Palms all look great- a fine collection indeed. Tell me; what do you know or think about the group of Trachycarpus labeled as Tesan / Misan / Winsan - what is their place or credibility?
Kris, all your Trachycarpus Palms in your collection are coming on wonderfully, very well done Kris. I must ask, is there a particular time of the year that you prune the palm leafs off, or does it differ from palm tree to palm tree.
What a terrific collection. I love palms, and grow a few, but never knew that there were so many variations of trachycarpus. Now I want some of those fast growing ones Princeps hybrid ... probably spelled the name wrong. Do you sell seedlings or can you recommend a place. I live in Bradford, so also in Yorkshire.
Nevermind. You moved it. 😊. Those ligules, are clearly not pure Takil. Takil has short triangular ligules & that same fluff as Urkuhulensis. I'm growing "Kumaons" in Newark,NJ USA. Seeds from seedman.com Firt leaf was 2 ridges , a takil characteristic. I guess I'll finger out eventually.

Kris how do you make your plant labels.
What equipment , materials are required.🌴🌴
Brother label printer. The labels are fade and waterproof
Can you hand-pollinate Trachycarpus species? Will you try to create hybrids when the palms start to flower?

Nice video Kris, a plant that I have not yet killed 🤔 yet. Thank you 👍

Fully dead leaves can be removed at any times. Dying leaves best removed in spring or summer.
Beauty. Looking good!. Where did you find all these varieties? All seedlings? Wish I could get my hands on some of those.
From many sources over the years. Many are very hard to get now
New to your channel. What is the hybrid Princeps hybridized with? Thank you.
Nobody knows for certain. Possibly nova
I like the nanus

👍 I was waiting for this movie 😀.
What is your favorite species of trachycarpus?
manipur, as adult plant, the leaves are really beautiful, and princeps are also very pretty
I want to grow these but our record low temp was about -26C. Could any of these survive that if protected?
With a heating cable perhaps. Without warmth they wouldn't stand a chance at those temperatures unfortunately
@@YorkshireKRIS thank you, one can only dream
how did you go about sourcing all these?
I just bought them when they were available. Being a member of a palm forum helps.
Where's the "Takil-Kumaon" you had to the left of T Nanus? It was the first from left to right along the wall. Did it die? Was it relocated?
