I like the SKMEI 1628 a lot, I have 9 G-Shocks and I like them a lot. Some are very old! I even have metal cased DW5600, and an original GIEZ but I've slowly also built a little SKMEI collection and they are normally excellent watches when you consider the price. But for the price the SKMEIs are awesome! I've never had the quality control issue you had, but of course, they can't be as good as Casio given the price. I will continue to buy SKMEI watches as they release new models and colours, they are fun to collect.
I have this watch and I like it. The only thing I don't like is that the light turns on every time you reset the timer. The timer can be set in seconds too! The timer is a must for me.. even on the Apple Watch is my #1 feature I use the most... but I wish the light didn't turn on because I use it in the gym. Also, I wish I could turn off the beep sound when I go through the modes.
You can turn off the button beep: 1. Press MODE (bottom left) once to switch to AL (Alarm mode) 2. Press the LIGHT button (top left) repetitively to cycle through: - Button beep (the striped bar icon) - Hourly chime (the bell icon) - both of the above - none of the above 3. Press the MODE button 4 times to return to the regular time/date display
I just ordered one to check if I like digital watches. If i do, I'll get a similar gshock. Interesting point is if the strap can be transferred to an original casio. If so it will be worth it to get the watch only to use the strap 😂😂, even if it doesn't last as long as the original strap so what, it is only 8 dollars
@chriskelly509 i love both brands, Here's an improved version of your comment: I usually reserve my Casios for regular wear and use my Skmei for tough jobs.😁
In real life the display is fine, but it is one of the worst SKMEI displays. Other SKMEI models like the 2056 have nicer digital displays. I have a negative display SKMEI too and I love it!
Only Casio ❤🎉
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Yes, a few issues on the settings. But i don’t really mind considering the extremly low price.

Good choice. I think it will fit the g-shock, though I haven’t tried it myself.
Aliexpress about $5-$6
@chriskelly509 cheaper👍
Saw these when I was in Thailand 🇹🇭, that flashing icon is annoying.
Cheap watch😆
@FrugalWatchBox at the mall they have a good selection of casio watches, at the night markets you can find skmei

@@FrugalWatchBox I have a sanda 6014 as my beater watch. It's a great watch for $6
@chriskelly509 I've heard about the Sanda brand. I'll be sure to include it in my next order.
The display looks bad on video. How is it in real life?
Also do you have any experience with negative display skmeis?
The display looks good, the reflection from the light made the display bad, in real life it is ok. Recommended.
Negative display on Skmei watches are in par with Casios.

It's acceptable. At some viewing angles, the digits have low contrast but at most angles it's fine.
