안녕하세요! 승관입니다.
작년에 '너를 그리는 시간' 이후로 반 년 만에 커버 곡을 들려드리게 되었습니다!
이번 곡은 'LIZZO - Juice' 라는 곡인데요💕
특유의 긍정적인 에너지와 메시지로 많은 분들께서 좋아하시는 곡이기도 해요.
저 또한 이 곡으로 너무 좋은 에너지를 받았던 기억이 있어서
'언젠가 한번 나도 이 곡을 들려드려야지 다짐만 하고 버킷리스트에 담아두다가
해리 스타일스와 리조가 듀엣으로 무대한 영상을 보고 이거다! 싶어서
너무 잘하고 재밌고 또 마인드도 너무 좋은, 제가 좀 라이벌 의식을 가지고 있던(농담)
영지와 함께 Boo리 스타일스 X 영지 Lee조 듀엣으로 커버 영상을 올리게 되었습니다!🤭
사실 커버 프로젝트를 준비하고 촬영하면서 팝송 커버가 처음이기도 하고..
걱정과 부담이 조금 있었는데 그럴 때마다 선배님은 최고라고 제게 자신감을 불어 넣어주고 이끌어준 영지 덕에 이 커버를 잘 준비해서 보여드릴 수 있게 되었습니다! (네가 선배님 해라ㅠ)

Hello! This is SEUNGKWAN.
It’s been almost half a year since I uploaded my last cover, “Drawing Our Moments.”
The song I’ll be covering today is LIZZO’s “Juice” 💕
It is the song loved by many with its signature positive energy and message.
I remember getting a lot of positive energy from this song too,
so I always had it in my “bucket list of songs to cover” thinking that I should one day cover this song and when I saw the duet performance of Harry Styles and LIZZO, I was like, this is it!
So I did a duet with the talented, funny, down-to-earth, and also sort of my nemesis (just kidding) Young-ji!! Think of it as the duet cover of Boory Styles X Young ji LEEzo! 🤭
Actually, since it is my first time covering an English song, as I was preparing for the shoot,
I felt a bit of pressure and a bit worried… But Young-ji kept encouraging me saying “You’re the best!” boosting my confidence and all thanks to her, I was able to prepare well and show this to you! (You can be the sunbaenim instead T^T)
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Young-ji once again for doing this with me!🙏

His english isn't perfect but he did so so well! We're so proud of you Boory Styles! I read the description, and he mentioned how he was worried to sing in english, but he didn't have to worry. I wish we could hear more often this Seungkwan but I'm realistic and i think unless he has solo it will not happen. Seungkwan is actually a baritone that is so well trained that he is accompaning the tenors of Seventeen in common tenor keys and ranges. This means that a lot of people never notice he is actually NOT a tenor himself.

Hello? Boo Seungkwan, why are you not singing deep-voice ranges more often?? This entire tone and timbre for him was new and different, but it was beautiful and lovely and I would listen to more of that any time you wanted to deliver that to us!! This was so fun and Young-ji is a perfect fit for Seungkwan in this duet!! What a bop; great job!!
probably because he's one of the only ones in Seventeen who can hit that high belting range so he's delegated to that while others in the group are more adept at hitting low tones like the rappers.

You have to make a song sound full, and you can’t throw someone like Wonwoo up on those high deviations 😂 but it’s certainly lovely to hear this from him. And in a vocal team song, when all of them have pretty strong high registers, I’d love to hear Seungkwan cover the low end more 🥰

"Juice" is really a perfect song that not only fit to their vocals but also to their personalities. Youngji and Seungkwan are both well known in entertainment variety industry but this is the best opportunity to showcase their capabilities and other personalities other than their variety skills. "Juice" talks about positivity and self-esteem. I'm happy that Youngji became part of Seungkwan's goal this year, which is to present his vocal abilities more.

okay two things. first I love how seungkwan can show this tone from him endlessly. he always is the soft and high ballad voice, but damn yes that was more like a deep male powerful one. and second. love their outfits. he looks so cute! enjoyed it a lot!
