“HOA requires a certain paint color”. Living in an area where others have control over what I can or cannot do in my own home is certainly not for me, but to each their own, I guess.
I hate HOA. In my opinion it's a rip off and a borderline scam. My HOA just started making anybody buying a house in the community with a credit score of under 700 pay a $5,000 fee. My question is where does that money go? The only plus is they take care of our lawns and we have security with a gated entrance. Still not worth the $400 a month though IMO.
$30k for 12x15 shed, it's definitely an exorbitant price, I just finished a 12x14 including electric, heat pump mini split and managed to stay under $13k
With the cost of housing going out of sight it's past time to start thinking outside of the box. This makes more sense than most options that I have seen, If you set this down on a concrete slab you'd have a really solid and permanent home.

You should be able to build whatever size house you want as long as its code compliant, and the codes has defacto square footage requirements. They want increase housing costs to generate more revenue and zone poor people out. The average new home built in the 1950's was 950 sq ft. That's illegal most places.
People should really start to disregard the government charging you for land... They don't own the land and we already pay taxes if you own a home and still have to pay annually then you don't own your home
I need to do more research on these. I would love to buy a plot of land somewhere and eventually get one of these built. As long as I can have a bathroom, living room, bedroom and kitchen, I would be so set

These new building technologies are sure making things very interesting right now. If you live in the right area this could be the perfect solution. You just need some land to put it on.
I believe with working and studying remote becoming a thing, living off the grid will get more popular 😊 I am actually very happy. Cities are insanely crowded for no reason, and people are paying insane amounts of money for mortgage. There's also stuff like the tax that comes with living in the city and owning property in the city. It's going to be interesting seeing where this goes. I hope it goes where I hope it's going, even though some people will get angsty about that because they invested in real estate.

Thank you for this video! This company seems to offer everything already included and minimal efforts for the purchaser other than having to furnish the inside! So much easier than what you’d get from Home Depot (or similar) where it’s pretty much delivery only and not even insulation comes in the structure (or set up for that matter). I agree and disagee with you on that, yes they are done but in the end they are what they are, you can't personal expand them or change walls or add walls like you can the ones from Home Depot, sure they can be expanded, but THEY have to do it, you can't do it yourself. My gf and I have considered one of the home depot ones simply because we can do with we want with it insulation and wall materials wise and we can add a wall for a seperate shower and toilet room. can't do that with these SIP houses.
Well, it’s not a one-size-fits-all solution. Everyone has different needs and preferences. Personally, the simplicity and convenience far outweighs the customizable factor. I wouldn’t need to expand or build upon it. This company has options with full bathrooms. Kristina just didn’t happen to need one.
What’s not included is permitting, utility and sewer hookups and of course furnishing the new home. All those are additional costs that have to be built into the budget. Assuming its allowed in your jurisdiction, its a fast way to assemble a new home where its needed.

That will depend on you local area. I will not need a building permit since I won't be getting the one with a bathroom but will need a permit for the electrical.

That is, are they molded plastic, wood or tile? 4) What kind of windows are included? Are they vinyl or aluminum frames? 5) What kind of roof material is used? Is it wood shakes, asphalt, etc.? When visiting their website, I saw that the smallest home kit you can get that allows for a kitchen is going to cost at least $68,000 just for the home itself (which is about 360sf), assuming you are OK with paying the extra ~$6500 to have a kitchen and bathroom included. Cost to build, get permits, put down a foundation (if needed), put in the plumbing and electric are All Extra. Not to mention the land itself, and the cost to put in a well, sewer, etc. if it's not already in place. Oh, and taxes. And shipping to wherever you are that might not be in Texas. This is NOT a cheap option for most people.
very interesting. I have looked at Intershelter homes (dome shaped) and they say those have at least a 20+ year life expectancy. Do you know what this manufacturer is estimating to be the useful life of these structures? I have heard of SIPs delaminating over time.

I hate when the customers are just pushing and rushing you to get stuff done, walking behind you breathing on your neck , asking you questions about everything. You know just let them do their job, stay away and let them take their time , you will get a better end result on the final product!
So I could buy some land in the Appalachian mountains and have one these built in a day? Add solar panels for electricity, build an outhouse, dig a well, plant a garden and go off the grid? Sign me up.
Septic is the big one, you're gonna run into needing a septic permit and have septic pits dug. Pre-pandemic it costs I'd say 4000, but a septic system can now run up 8000 post-pandemic and have huge delays. Delivery will also be delayed, having a well dug will also be delayed. Expect it in 5+ months done. The main thing though is drainage. Drainage, drainage, drainage, always remember that's in the initial excavation of the land. Remember that you can run into all sorts of problems, the cost of setting it up is the cost of the rent you pay before moving in. Also, with gas sky high, the cost of living out in the country...well, the country let's just say is a gas-centric existence. Your whole existence will rely on gasoline. Electric cars are too much, there are electric bicycles for $3000 that can now run 200+ miles though on a single charge, and better ones coming too.

She was paid to promote this by the builder. It's a yard barn and was put on piers just like a yard barn would be (if installed properly).

Septic is the big one, you're gonna run into needing a septic permit and have septic pits dug.
Pre-pandemic it costs I'd say 4000, but a septic system can now run up 8000 post-pandemic and have huge delays.
Delivery will also be delayed, having a well dug will also be delayed.
Expect it in 5+ months done.
The main thing though is drainage. Drainage, drainage, drainage, always remember that's in the initial excavation of the land.
Remember that you can run into all sorts of problems, the cost of setting it up is the cost of the rent you pay before moving in.
Also, with gas sky high, the cost of living out in the country...well, the country let's just say is a gas-centric existence. Your whole existence will rely on gasoline.
Electric cars are too much, there are electric bicycles for $3000 that can now run 200+ miles though on a single charge, and better ones coming too.
Excellent invention! Shelter over one's head should be affordable for all.
