  • I take a deep dive into using natural handmade watercolour by swatching and testing a set of Gida Living Colours. I compare these organic colours with commercial, artist grade paints. I test out both sets of colours by making 2 identical watercolour paintings.

    It turned out so nice! Since it lifted so easily I thought it might be more difficult to paint with the handmade paints but they seem nice to paint with 😊

      Glad you enjoyed it.
      The handmade paints are more difficult to paint with tbh, but manageable with a little bit of skill.

    Nice scene, it is layered like a cake 😂You did a great job with both sets of paint. I think I like the natural pigments result a little bit better because of the rich granulation. I'd be a little concerned about using them for anything other than sketchbook art without knowing their lightfastness rating.

      Soil/mineral pigments are usually lightfast. They've been used for centuries. Its only the Indigo that may fade.
