Hi John. This vid caused me to pause and think. In reality, in our deepest souls do we love the wrenching so much as we love collecting fasteners? I often think one is an excuse for the other.
Suppliers: we all have our favorites, but I will say that McMasters-Carr is the best, hands down! They are a builders candy store.
    Love your vids, and thanks

Love when people pay attention to correct OEM hardware.

Hi John, great system. I am lucky here, (U.K.). five miles from me i have a bolt store with large stocks of UNF and BA plus everything else under the sun. You are right to say it is great to have these fittings ready to hand. You also need an inexspensive UNF threading kit, (about £15-00 here) With this you are home and dry. David.

The most impressive thing is you know the size, type and location for every nut, bolt and washer on our cars.

You need Gridfinity. Also, 2BA isn't the same as 10-32, which you know.

May I ask who is the vendor you use for your nuts and bolts? It was difficult to hear the name clearly in the video.

Overkill for a one car collector in my case. Fortunately, I have a Survivor car and can reuse most fasteners and can make due until net order or trip to store if not in hand. Then there are, drywall and deck screws, roofing nails, concrete anchors, it never ends.. If you have and old fashioned hardware store, better to let them hold your project stock. I keep saving bits thinking i might be able to use it later and end up swamped with stuff.

The french intrusion of metric threads in the "T" series cars is only the first incursion of metric fastners in MGs and other British cars. Today, the re-pop reproductions fron China often insert metric fastners into parts wholly engineered in China. If you install a new reverse lamp from a Chinese source on your MGB or Midget, the screws holding the lens in place are likely to be entirely metric and the threads for the fastners that hold the lamp to the body may or may not be metric cnfusing the issue even more. The Chinese do not seem to understand the concept of "Period Correct".
