thanks for the advice! I think its a lot of digging to find and they're definitely hard to score from but as a very poor person / i make less than 40k a year, i find when i spend big bucks from pieces not at some thrift stores, i prefer to go to creators and artists. a good amount of my big name pieces/graphic tees i score is at thrift markets and i do have to sew them back together so i tend to get them super cheap,... basically i recommend as an alt fashion & an artist, to seek out creators and people that upcycle pieces. If you wanna be grunge, live grunge!
I mostly shop secondhand. My favorite places are Mercari, Plato’s Closet, and my local thrift stores. I end up with clothes from all over, but some of my favorite secondhand pieces are from rag and bone, allsaints, and karl lagerfeld. WILDFANG just released a collab with Debbie Harry (from Blondie) and I would love to buy all 6 of those pieces, but it would cost about $700 😢
You are not wrong at all. I try my hardest to avoid fast fashion , but sometimes it’s the only thing I can afford. We can’t keep criticizing people in the alt community when they don’t have the means to always to afford stuff. A lot of sustainable and alt brands are hella expensive.
And also some small business use Amazon as a means to sell their stuff. Sometimes it’s all people have to use when they can’t afford a different platform for their own independent storefront
@@IlanaPinsky You kind of disproved your own point though because most of the stores and brands you listed are considered semi-luxury or higher end brand. One top from Nordstrom, Madewell or Free People is like $80. I would much rather that money go to a small business that has alternative values in mind instead of a massive corporation. Not trying to shame you or anything, buy whatever you want. But your argument was kinda fragile
@@PaetynPeebles-tg5cb not everything is from Nordstrom is expensive though. I also typically buy things when they’re on sale and I do have the money. I love supporting small businesses but sometimes I have to choose the $15 belt over the $50 one. This video was about where I like to shop. Yes, I’m aware a brand like all saints and free people are expensive, but some people in the alt community can afford it. I don’t see anything wrong with providing options for people of all budgets?
You're assuming the niche local shops didn't find their merchandise on Amazon and added an extra few dollars to make their profits. Either way you go, Amazon makes a buck off your purchase.

@@ruebennomura9143 thanks dude!
Do you get your clothes from any of these places?
I think it's kinda antithetical to the whole scene that created this style to be shopping from Amazon and fast fashion. But go off I guess...
