No one told me that radiotherapy was an alternative.... Thank you.

Dr Seegenschmiedt, Thank you very much. My hands, treated by you in 2010 with RT, remain stable. My dupytren's has not progressed, and it was advancing seemingly fast before receiving your RT treatments.

My hands also remain stable some ten years after treatment at Herr Seegenschmiedt's Strahlzentrum in Hamburg.

Does Radiotherapy work on the cords too or just the Nodes?

My cords stabilised and may even have shrunk, though they appeared to take longer to respond. The nodes certainly shrank steadily following treatment. Before treatment the nodes had been progressing rapidly - getting worse over a matter of weeks/months to the point where the nodes would ground uncomfortably on the floor in press-ups (excercises) or when I placed my left hand flat on a table. The nodes were large enough to ground before the natural pads at the base of my fingers grounded (= touched the floor/table). I travelled to Hamburg to get two week-long treatments 3 months apart in early 2013. It is now November 2021, and my left hand which was lumpy and had thick cords is just as good as the right hand which never had Dupuytrens. PS. Treatment at the centre was friendly and efficient. Dr Seegenschmiedt was the picture of discretion, generous with his time and whilst recommending treatment, provided full information and explained in meticulous detail what it involved ("you are giving me permission to "damage" your hand" with radiation") before asking for the usual permissions to treat the hand. Some nine years later, and I would do the same again. Hope this helps.
