My theater group threw together this music number for our band director who was retiring. Me being in the band and in the number it was so fun to see our director smile
I listen most frequently to the Robert Preston version of this soundtrack, and in that version, the line 'seventy six trombones hit the counterpoint' is sung by the ensemble, and with so many voices singing, it sonud like 'seventy six trombones, I think we've got the point'
My school is putting this play on right now, this weekend was opening weekend, and hearing this song in someone else's voice is quite strange to me. I don't even know the song very well because I'm a technician within the play, but still strange to me.
