    The sofa bed in Goose is great and the looks and quality of workmanship on all the vans are gorgeous.

    More beautiful build quality from ARV. I hope ARV continues to take cues from the DIY van conversion community but especially the European style design and innovations taking place across the pond. It is possible to have a greater economy of space in a 144" WB than US manufacturers are currently providing. It seems anyone with a little construction experience can open their own van conversion company nowadays! Why US builders refuse to incorporate or just plain copy the superior interior design features coming out of Europe is a mystery to me? If most US RV buyers bothered to look at RVs from companies like La Strada, CS or Globe Traveler, they would vote with their wallets and demand better. My god, look at the California XXL from VW!!! Lucky for US RV builders, there isn't any competition here so they can get away with peddling the same stapled wood interiors. Sad...

      Thanks for the thoughtful comment, Nitram. Crafting on the 144" wheelbase is a unique challenge, to be sure. We're learning as much as we can from builders all across the world.

      Nitram Midnite So true Nitram. I live in Europe and have seen a many fantastic DIY conversions. I was asked in the comment section of a video showcasing a prof company's conversion, why these European models (comparable with the van you see in this video) aren't for sale in the US. The American's and Canadian's were all so frustrated when they found out that in Europe they cost only 1/3 (or more) of the price compared to the US or Canada.
      So here I am comparing themand I was absolutely shocked when I looked up their prices...Unbelievable really!

    • @Noa-hs6qy
      @Noa-hs6qy 5 лет назад

      Nitram Oh and I forgot to mention they all mentioned the quality of European models!

    • @sverduijn1
      @sverduijn1 4 года назад

      Don't know... I'm from Europe. Vans here look great on pictures. But the quality isn't that great. Many have not so much insulation. The inside is just furniture panels, hardly any real solid wood. They use cheap furniture hardware.
      So for example they make showers. But you still need a shower curtain because even for 60.0000 euro they can't seem to make a waterproof wet area...
      The front seats are not re-upholstered but have a nice looking seat cover. Windows are thin plastics.
      The new California might be good quality but it looks like a hospital waiting room and it's reallly expensive.

    Wow. Just saw the near-perfect layout of a 144" Sprinter RV! Ingenious use of the sofa/bed location (looks seamless, like it's supposed to be there), facing the TV. TV essentially doesn't take up any room, and the rear bath is just where it should be. I work for a WTE company and will be in LA County (CA) for work to oversee plant construction, and I'm looking for almost this very layout, and with a pop-out table to double as my desk (with my laptop), so it'd could be a perfect mobile office.
    I have no idea what a priced-out model would run, but I would get a 2017--18 Sprinter vs. the brand new ones (not really a fan of the new Sprinter headlights), with a 2" lift and beefy tires. Anyway, I know what I want, so hopefully someone from within ARV can respond. Thanks.

    ArVee! I like that layout / setup. In fact that is pretty much what we would do if we were to have one custom built. How about sharing a price point on this setup (if possible?)

    • @gosman949
      @gosman949 5 лет назад

      I don't think she will share the prices in public. They mostly make $250,000 RVs. But I would think since this is further down the production line, and a smaller unit, it might be $175,000.

    • @AdvancedRV
      @AdvancedRV  5 лет назад

      Thank you for your question Ray. Many times, pricing is driven more by the things you can't see, like our systems and technologies, than by what you can see (floor plan and materials). Our builds start at $250,000 with very little customization and can go well over $300,000 depending on configuration. All of our builds at every price point have the systems and technologies that will allow you to travel off the grid for weeks without plugging in.

    Interesting layout on Arvee. If you have a longer wheelbase, you would be able to get that dry bath in the rear. Have you evaluated/compared different toilet systems - standard black tank versus macerator toilet/cassette toilets/composting toilets?

    • @AdvancedRV
      @AdvancedRV  5 лет назад +1

      Thanks for the comment Edward. We're always trying out new toilet and bathroom ideas. We've used composting toilets and macerating toilets, but the vast majority of our clients choose our black tank plumbing system.

    I hope you can do a better product than Revel, the revel is too much $$. I am the buyer for these, I hope you can produce a product under 100k. exact requirements: 4x4, shower. NON pop up.

    • @OMGWTFLOLSMH
      @OMGWTFLOLSMH 5 лет назад

      LOL. The Revel is cheap compared to these ARV products. I think the Revels are around $150k (and it shows in their interiors that look like they're straight out of the 60s, sadly). These ARVs start at $250k, so, no they cannot produce a product under $100k. The van alone is almost half that.

    • @AdvancedRV
      @AdvancedRV  5 лет назад

    • @jacktseng4909
      @jacktseng4909 5 лет назад

      @@AdvancedRV I don't mean the charging of house batteries. I am referring to the all electric Mercedes eSprinter van. Unfortunately, the range for 2020 model year is only 150km. I think Tesla is talking to Mercedes for a possible join (battery) project... The all electric RV is a natural fit for everything from electric microwave, a/c and appliances. Also, you can charge up at campsite with NEMA 14-50 charging. So, you will have full "tank" every morning...

      @@AdvancedRV On another thought, the propane is very necessary for dry camping... It can greatly enhance the energy resources on the road. I use propane for refrigerator, hot water heater and cabin heating. I like the 144 built for your engineer client. He certainly knows how to maximize all available resources of 144.

    • @AdvancedRV
      @AdvancedRV  5 лет назад

      Hi Jack, thank you for your kind words. All of our coaches are built without the use of any propane and are capable of travelling for weeks at a time without plugging in. We use Auto Gen technology to recharge the house batteries automatically using the Mercedes engine, diesel fired heat and on demand hot water using the return glycol loop to take advantage of heat that would otherwise be wasted, and compressor refrigerators. I hope this is helpful!

    And it’s weird to hear people referred to as engineers because there’s 1000 different kinds of engineers. some are things you can get licensed in and some not. Anybody can call them self an audio engineer apparently, but I sure wouldn’t hire an audio engineer to design a structure. If you’re not gonna see what kind of engineer someone is, it’s irrelevant that they’re an engineer. In California it’s a legal to call yourself an architect or an architectural graduate even if you have a Masters degree in architecture if you’re not licensed by the state, But basically anybody can call themself an engineer

      You can say that about Rolls Royce or other high end manufacturers too. The best of the best in life is usually expensive. When you add up all the pieces that make this RV, you'll be shocked at how much just the materials and technology cost. Add in American union labour rates, warranty, factory and staff overhead. They seem to be selling all they can make, so obviously some people think it's a good fit/value for them. Some people fly coach, some fly in private jets. If you have the money, you don't worry about what stuff costs if you want it.

    Clearly your editor feels that they must show the boss as much as possible. People don’t need to see the talking head this much, especially when it cuts into actually being able to look at the B roll. having a drawing up on the screen for 1 to 1 1/2 seconds is absurd. Please tell your editor that you won’t fire them if they don’t show you so much.
