    Great shave. The Arko soap is on my list for soaps. Winter in Chicago has returned with snow and cold temperatures. Let a Wee Scot lather a giant soap with its father, the Simpsons Chubby brush

      Thanks. Arko should be in everyone's den. It's cold here in
      Scotland but you guys in the States seem to have it really bad this year. The Simpsons Chubby is banned from hanging around with the Wee Scot after wee Scott fed Chubby too much fried Scottish delicacies! Lol! 😂 Cheers. Kevy 😀

    So that is how that Rocca looks in action. I have been AWOL due to circumstances involving the extreme cold in the States and missed viewing almost all of my usual wet shaving stomping grounds but I am BACK and will get caught up. ;-) Glad to see you were able to resolve the rough shave issue mentioned. ;)

    What's funny for me is that facial stubble doesn't bother me like it does on my head. Once I started head shaving, stubble on my head feels like dirt. 😂

    What a perfectly performing brush for its size! Best badger is a very logical choice for a smaller knot. The backbone, flow, and fast softening by water (as opposed to soaking) proves the Wee Scot to be typical Simpson's! My hat's off to Mrs. Kevy for her choosing this gift. I'm not an afficionado of Arko, but it provided terrific protection when coupled with the pre-shave oil. I admit to being skeptikal when you showed the Feather. But it made the Rocca sing like a banshee. An amazing shave, mate! I agree that Cedrat should be made available in a 6oz tub of shave cream. An email to L'Occitane is warranted. Shave on my brother, till the next episode.

      It's a great wee brush Alex. It was great fun using it even if it isn't very practical! Arko is a good soap, one of the super six! Lol! The feedback on that shave wouldn't have sounded out of place in a death metal shredders rehearsal room! Cedrat cream would be amazing. Cheers mate. Enjoy your week. Kevy 👍

    Good evening Kevy! I have great interest in the Rocca and Wee Scot brush. To that end, I have gone to the websites of the manufacturers and gather all the information I need to make a purchase...I am glad I can see how these perform. Some blades just don't work well certain razors. Perhaps Stephen Hawking can explain the why of it, but to the rest of us have no clue. The Wee Scot is whipping up a nice lather. I think that might be a brush for small lather jobs or travel. Great shave. I am impressed with both the Rocca and the Wee Scot. I haven't quite got the water to soap ratio sorted with that Arko, but you have inspired me to give it a go later tonight. Bazooka Joe bubble gum scented aftershave? Who would have thought?! Thank you for sharing Kevy. Take care.

    • @kevyshaves4109
      @kevyshaves4109  6 лет назад

      Hey Todd. The Rocca seems to have a split in the Shaving community with some loving it while others don't get it along with it at all. Strange how things like that work! The Wee Scot was purchased from Ian at the Groom Room and it works well. Ok, I had to re-lather at the start of each pass but as you know, I like a lot of lather on the face! Lol! I hadn't used Arko in ages, great soap but not everyone digs the scent, I don't mind it. The Blue Stratos smells like it to me, just as it's drying down. Cheers. Kevy 👍

    Hello Kevy and excellent video. I really like Feather blades and they seem to pair well with my vintage Gillette razors and of course with my Feather AS-D2.

      @kevyshaves4109  6 лет назад +1

      Thanks Tim. Like I said in my 7 sins vid, I have a love/hate relationship with Feather blades. They seemed to work really well in this razor and mowed through the stubble with ease with no irritation to my skin. I'll try them some more in different razors. Maybe my skin has toughened up a bit! Lol! Cheers. Kevy 😀

    What a clean “bubbly” shave there Kevy. ;) I do enjoy Arko for its scent, performance and cushion but where it lacks is in the slickness department I find. I’ve heard that adding some glycerin to the soap can remedy that. Never tried that. I might have to give it a shot and see if it works. Great results otherwise. Oh yes! I used to buy those bazooka Joes all the time when I was a kid and enjoyed reading the comics that came with them. I remember they were 5 cents then. Wishing you all the best.

      Cheers Frank. I really enjoyed this shave. Arko is a good soap, not the best bitmitmismwhat itmis and it does the job well in my opinion. You could try adding some glycerin. Bazooka Joe...I wonder if they're still around? All the best. Kevy 👍

    Great shave! We had bazooka joe here in Canada when I was a kid. Glad to see the feather worked well in the rocca. I love voskhod blades one of my favourite, but i don’t like the way they shave in my EJDE89 not sharp enough. I love Wilkinson sword blades in my De89 but find them hit and miss in other razors. Seems like some razors need sharper blades!

    Looks like 98% perfect shave to me with your new Rocca, that sure has been a controversial razor. I think they had some QC issues and they would not release the razor until they had it resolved. Sure a nice looking razor and in your hands it did the job it was intended to . Have a nice day.

      I don't find it too aggressive. I think it's smooth. It's very efficient and mows the stubble down but it doesn't feel aggressive on my face. I thought the R41 was much more aggressive feeling on my face when I used that. Everyone is different I guess. That's why this Shaving community is so good. Cheers. Kevy 😀👍

    • @kevyshaves4109

      Kyriakos Avraam If I had to choose one, it would be the Rockwell 6S. It just shaves great and you have the option of changing the plates to make it less or more aggressive. Stainless steel razors are difficult to break but I guess it could happen. Cheers. Kevy 😀

    Hej Kevy, cute brush, but Omega has an even smaller one (mixed boar/badger)… The Rocca closes the gap btw R89 n R41 (2013 version). Interesting to hear y stopped shaving the R41, fyi I've stopped, too. The H-versions of ATT give similar results as R41, without being so brutal, but more expensive...

    Hej Kevy, I also had a conversation with Mark fm Friendship Shaving abt the Rocca. Agree with y its not as rough as the R41. Rocca is somewhere btw EJ89, DE89 and R41. Myself hv given up on the R41, now unused in my den. Likely I try to sell it, little sad, as it got the rosegold handle, an eyecatcher, but I cant master it. Cheers, Achim+

    • @kevyshaves4109

      It's Trumpers Sandalwood shower gel. Good stuff, smells exactly the same as the cream. Kevy 😀

      The grip is great. It seems to get even better when it's wet. Very good razor. There's been a few good reviews of it on RUclips recently. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Have a great weekend. Kevy 👍

      Can you recommend a low cost setup and a medium cost thanks 😆🤘

      Hi Ricky. I'm not sure where I'm the world you live but there are lots of good stores online to help,you choose a set up for DE shaving. Depending on your budget, for,a beginner, I would choose from 3 different razors. Edwin Jagger DE89, Merkur 34C and something that works well for sensitive skin is a Wilkinson Sword classic razor. Let me know where you are and I'll point you to some websites. Also, join some online Shaving forums and ask questions. There's lots of very helpful people on those who are always happy to talk and help out guys who are starting out shaving this way. That's what I done and it's really helpful. Keep in touch. Kevy 👍

      Some blades just don't work with some razors. I've noticed that with my Fatip open combs. Some less aggressive blades are surprisingly ineffective and feel rough in the Fatips while a sharp blade like a Bic Chrome Platinum is excellent.
