I would like to see a creative player like Ninko introduced. Feels like a very conservative approach early in the season but I am okay with that if it gets results. Expecting to see more of the talent we know is there as the season rolls on.
I honestly think and I’ve said this for ages, ninkovic is the meet for antonsson and Borrello to shine. He can bring them both into the game and makes their opportunities, whether it be a pass through to our full backs or straight through the guts. ninkovic is the key and we won all our derbies last season with him starting
I think we need to forget about Ninkovic, he is no longer a 90 min player or a player that can back up for every game. He is an amazing player with an amazing career but his best football is behind him
Borello needs to play on the right and Antonsson as the target man. Hendrix not sure about he needs to do more. Maybe start with Ninko and drop hendrix to bench give him something to think about and bring him on maybe after 60 mins or so. We are missing Simmons go forward. Brook maybe play just behind Ninko as an 8 (in case Ninko gets caught out) or on the left wing. Even someone like Younis can affect the game as a sub. Brillante in the CDM role.
Summing up the season, Game 1 couldn't get past that BUS.Game 2 a good 45 where everything was gold.Game 3 a not so good 45 but the a better 45.game 4 a not so good 45 then a better 45.Guys, Ninko has been injured and wont start for a few games yet.He has to come in, he is key.Once hes fit, its a different team.He knows how to play behind 2 strikers........THE DERBY.!..IF the defence isnt great, they have the ability to score 3/4/5...I'd be going there to not lose and remain unbeaten and if its tight, jag a goal and get 3 points. It should be a great contest,Talay will be ready.its a mountain which is a good test for Rudes and this squad.
My thinking is that you need to play to both Borrello and Antonsson's attributes. I think, when in possession, you can have Borrello slightly deeper and finding space behind their midfield (he's energetic enough to find gaps till the 90' minute), with Antonsson playing as the classic "target forward" (physical, strong in the air, good with early crosses). For out of possession, have Borrello further forward to chase down the ball and high press, while Antonsson looks to impose his physicality against any midfielders who drop deep. That way, you'd have a player always occupying the number 9 and 10 positions, but playing different roles depending on the scenario.
Did we sign borello as a defender or as an attacker? He can play on the wing and do the same thing as he is doing now. He can create space on the wing and do what he does best is ATTACK. He scored 15goals last year why do we want him to play defensive?
Whilst he is a striker/winger, we defend from the front. No one else in the team can do it as well as he can in that position, simple. Every player plays his part in a team, sacrificing goals scored for the team to win is more important than individual accolades, and we finally have a manager who understands that.

Also, he scored 15 goals, but only after becoming a striker, not in the wing position 😉
Guys I can’t find any info on the open training session, where’s this come from? We happen to be in town this weekend and I’d love to take my boys
Never mind I found it
