What CBS did in March 29, 1982 was a bad idea, that includes changing the theme song in 1981, (even though I do enjoy listening to that saxophone from that particular theme song) This theme and the 1974-1980 theme are considered golden treasure, who agrees with me.?
AGREED 1,000%. My grandmother used to love SFT but when CBS dropped it & switched to NBC it was never the same. If CBS kept it & a few of the characters didn't get killed off I think it would have lasted a little longer.
i've already uploaded an extended closing from 1966..i do have an opening, a mid-show bumper (with sponsor tags cut (sorry) and a closing from around January 1970..at this time, Harry Kramer was still announcer..i'll try to upload that 'set' as soon as i can....
if i remember correctly, Paul Taubman didn't orchestrate his EON theme until some time in March 1974 (close to the same time GL did the same just a couple of months before that musician's strike that killed the organ completely)..before that, we still heard the dramatic piano intro followed by a dramatic, somewhat screechy organ that faded into the first segment of the show...i still prefer the 'live' version; played live, there was always something a little different each and every time....
Christopher Hagee i also have, from very early in 1970, a partial closing with a sub announcer..it sounds like Hal Sims who didn't give his name..instead of 'this is...', he said 'we invite you to join us....'..if that is indeed Hal Sims, he didn't identify himself until he became full-time announcer some time in 1972 (still preferred Harry Kramer)..

You probably remember me..I made those Loving credit recreations with the help of your sound files several years ago. I was wondering if you still had those Johnny Mathis instrumental closing cuts in your archives. Some closings with pieces of those cuts surfaced on RUclips, but I was curious to see if your files were of clearer quality. I would like to get my hands on a complete or near-complete track of the Mathis instrumental for future re-creations. Let me know how you can help if possible. Thanks!

i have no idea how to get personal messages out to my subscribers, but i must ask that comments *not* be either linked or highlighted: for some reason, this makes it almost impossible for me to reply to comments received..it becomes a major undertaking for my replys to post - if at all..otherwise, all i see is 'comment failed to post'..i don't know what the connection is, but *please* try and refrain from linking or highlighting these comments..it takes awhile to get around this.....
since all but one of these daytime themes was played live (WTHI was recorded), they never sounded the same two days in a row..and i've listened to these themes often enough to realize they change keys and tempos quite regularly..there may be sheet music, but players very often go ''off key'' - for no other reason than to shake things up a little..imagine playing, live, the same music exactly te same way five days a week and see how long b4 you make a few spontaneous changes.........

This recording is sped up. I have perfect pitch and this is playing in G major, when in fact it was a step down in F major.
