I've been dreaming of having a picnic along the wildflower field. The last couple of years, I missed the opportunity because I was in hurry driving through plain, but I finally had one this year. Thanks for your comments😊
Very nice footage of the views. How did you find the roads? You mentioned higher elevations require some clearance, but could you elaborate anymore? Much thanks
I find roads on Google Maps. The primary route through Carrizo Plain is Soda Lake Road, which can be navigated with any type of vehicle. However, there are numerous dirt roads that traverse the ridges, and some may be uneven or have deep holes. If you intend to drive on these dirt roads at higher elevations, I suggest using a vehicle with higher clearance. The roads I was on are Elkhorn road and Soda Lake Road where many flower fields are😊
@@naomipenguzman I used a 4runner, which is 4x4, but I don't think you need a 4x4 to have a tour. Most roads are good enough for regular vehicles. Just use common sense not to go through rough terian😉
The best wildflower display will happen at the corner of 58 highway and seven-mile road. The entire hill turns yellow and purple in spring. Caliente ridge is another area you might want to check out, but you may need a high-clearance vehicle😊
Just south of Traver Ranch, there is a side road that is easy to find. Simply follow the trail of wildflowers, and you'll come across wildflower fields. It's not uncommon to see people camping on Caliente Ridge. The location must be a special place for those who visit
@@outdoortravels1019 Thanks so much for telling us about the side road just south of Travers Ranch!!!! We were at Carrizo Plain for 2 days last week. We did a hike along that side road and it was the best part of our trip. ❤
This is a remote area, no wifi, no phone signals😑 You can see people live in the area, but no gas station or stores. Just be cautious not to drive deep into the mountains, then you will be OK
thank u
My first trip to Carrizo plains was a school field trip back in the sixties and I haven’t stopped visiting since.
Please do so in the spring. The scene is spectacular 👌✨️
Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to going there soon!
You won't be disappointed 😏 Thnaks for watching
@@outdoortravels1019 you're welcome

Hi, what area in the Carrizo Plain you will recommend for best access for flower viewing.

Love this video! Which side road did you take to Caliente Ridge? How far is the road past Traver Ranch? Thank you.

Hi! And thank you for sharing. What entrance did you take? The south or the north? Thank you in advance
I took South enterance from Highway 166. The northern entrance from Highway 58 was blocked when I was there. Check before your visit 😊
Is there signal there? In case something wrong with the car, still can dial triple A

Please stay on designated paths when enjoying the wildflowers. When you step on them, you create dead spots for the bloom the following year.
