I understand that it was for gameplay, but a smidge closer to reality would be nice. Although, some of the ships are a bit quick for their RL counterparts.

If they limited CVs and subs to WW2 stats it actually wouldn’t bother me so much. I shot down 58 Kaga planes in one battle and he was still sending full squadron’s. The only way these ships loose is due to bad playing.

well its not realistic in that way... in rl it would be very obvious but in wows ur just invisible and there is no passive sonar like the CV just vanished when he dived while in RL the CV would indeed be not visible but the acoustic of the CV will still be there and easy to locate for a good listener
Yes i too know this from subnautica in cyclops sunmarine as highest speed cavitates the computer even says cavitating it makes a right noise. in subnautica doing this made you more detectable to sea monsters aka detectable to other ships.

Nothing like Silent Hunter 3 for a good U-boat simulator, the Type XXI was a wonder weapon and in that game you get to play a registered encounter between a Type XXI and a USA carrier IIRC, the sub went straight through them without noticing, he could have sink them, but war was over at that time.
If anyone played Steel Ocean before, the sub in that game is way more balance than the one in WoW. Slow move speed when submerge, not guided torpedoes (just like the real one in WW2), limited submerge time (you can't stealth all the time), limited emergency deep dive (can't attack and dive below the safe depth so only direct depth charge can damage you).
pretty sure that's a type XXI which in terms of broken WG physics that's acceptable. it was the same speed submerged as it was surfaced and could outrun merchant ships, some escorts and slow surface ships submerged. they also DID have guided torpedoes in WW2 but they worked nothing like the ones shown here. Still i hope everything lower than that on the tier list is much slower. in Sub terms that's basically the best suited for swift underwater gameplay.

Type 21 subs were revolutionary at the time , greater speed underwater than surface , enhanced torp reloading mechanism , 21 torpedoes in storage i think and a max depth at 300 meters while normal t vii subs were only safe around 150+ meters,, there is one in bremerhafen or bremen i think preserved as a museum if you want to have a tour, definitly worth it ruclips.net/video/PWC6U3KywNo/видео.html

DDs are quicker and more maneuverable than subs ever thought of, making it easier to dodge, and have similar to larger HP pools. I played this shit ships too. So dont mhumble some bullshit if you have no clue what so ever.
Battlestations did submarine combat far better and that came out 15 years ago. Not sure why they gave submarines unlimited tracking torpedos and super high speed with no real counter available for most ships.

If you want it realistic the german cruiser could have shoot after the kill too Cause he wasn't sinking right away and if you look in history there are many last shoots while sinking But a game is about fun and fairness to all participants.
Asking for realism in an arcade shooter. 🤭 If you wanted realism, then aircraft carriers would be offscreen, untouchable by ships onscreen; CVs would attack with ordinance that would cripple, or sink, a ship after a single attack wing; and finally, both sides would not be balanced in number of units or makeup. The thing that both CVs and subs bring to WoWs is modern naval warfare. Surface ships don't do shootouts, anymore. This game gives you those old shootouts (or the feel of them, at least) to play around with.

CVs are underpowered compared with real CVs. They do a lot, but aren't the powerhouses people complain about. The realism you ask for would sideline all BBs and nearly every other class of ship to be dominated by carriers, and every other vessel's role would be to shield the carrier and hunt for subs.
So basically I stopped playing this game a long time ago. Now I was reminded why. I mean, what is this? You can drive 2KM up close to an enemy without being spotted, "shotgun" them with a barrage of torps and then run away, losing detection with just diving and running away a couple 100m... And I thought Carrier Gameplay was an issue back then...

they should implement the ammo count ,it would neft the u bouts and not spam torpedoes, its not portraing the importance of universal ammo in the game , big ship should have more shells because they have big stowage and cruiser have medium stowage and the destroyer have small stowage in , so you can increase the damage on u-bout and destroyers torpedos so that battleship will not be overpowered in tanking the enemies it face , they should introduces some water mines in the game so that they have obstacles under water like riffs if they hit it , the flooding could damage the u bouts make sense that the map layout undersea is little when world war 2 is happening
The player did great but submarines are aweful either need to be completely changed or completely removed. Also, this almost looked like a pre-built game. Again the player did great but going pretty much in a straight line for the first 5 minutes and being able to get that close and fire at will. I have to ask if this was a dev game
The biggest problem of submarines are not homing torps, the speed of they going up and down is, imagine if a sub need 1min to dive from telescope depth to operating depth, not 5sec

They are in test currently. Earnable via missions and rested every 14 days. However test is going to stop again for at least 2 patches starting on next patch so they soon will be gone again for a while
mmmmm, it seems sub underwater could speed up to 30 to 32kmh and yet above water maxed out at 27kmh, am I missing something here, or is it a bug that makes a sub quicker under water, Also battery capacity over 5 mins even at T10 ????????

STOP playing submarines - the vast majority of the player base rightly considers them as toxic - they weren't even requested by players!! For those playing them, you're letting the rest of the player base down - If no one played them, they'd be ditched, it's that simple!

Just play normally. They are a common mission unlocked by base XP earnings. Must be earned sequentially (T6 then T8 then T10). T6: 12,500 base xp. T8: 5,000 base xp (I think). T10: 2,500base xp.

Vibrating? Vibration is one of the main reasons subs get spotted.... Right after gassbubbeles forming on the props increasing w the props speed

They are in test currently. Earnable via missions and rested every 14 days. However test is going to stop again for at least 2 patches starting on next patch so they soon will be gone again for a while

mmmmm, it seems sub underwater could speed up to 30 to 32kmh and yet above water maxed out at 27kmh, am I missing something here, or is it a bug that makes a sub quicker under water, Also battery capacity over 5 mins even at T10 ????????

Low specs are possible but you have to adjust your PC on low settings to have less frame lags.

STOP playing submarines - the vast majority of the player base rightly considers them as toxic - they weren't even requested by players!!
For those playing them, you're letting the rest of the player base down - If no one played them, they'd be ditched, it's that simple!
Been playing for 6 years and I’ve never had a match on glass like water..
CVs ruined the game in the beginning and now that honor goes to submarines. Good job wargaming, you're actively killing your game.

Great Job ! It is amazing you have someone who actually acts as if he was commanding a submarine. You can dive deep and travel ! It is a sub , not a gun platform . Now lets see if these Carrier guys know the carriers can move and not just be a floating airport !

Just play normally. They are a common mission unlocked by base XP earnings. Must be earned sequentially (T6 then T8 then T10).
T6: 12,500 base xp.
T8: 5,000 base xp (I think).
T10: 2,500base xp.

Странно что противники очень пассивные. Буквально подставляются под выстрел. Я ещё ни разу не видел такого в игре. Только в видео.
В кб на европейском сервере поиграйте, там и не такое увидишь. На крейсера подставляют борт, чтобы всеми башнями стрелять
