Honestly I think Patrick Schwarzenegger as Hal Jordan is a pretty good idea. I mean hes the right age and could play the role for the next couple of years
I’m a die-hard Green Lantern fan and I don’t know why WB just abandoned the character. But luckily James Gunn announced a Green Lantern project part of the DCU. Honestly I want this as a movie but at least its a GL project
Its because after the green lantern movie they got cold feet for any other green pantern centered projects outside comics. Especially Hal the og green lantern. Justice league show got john stewart as the main lantern.

@@Gamer-wo1st same man. I loved the green lantern animated show and certain times of himnin the comics. Writers kept fucking him up and making him a sicko.
It’s low key much better as a TV show rather than a movie. You get to spend so much more time with the characters, plot lines get fleshed out a lot better as well as more opportunities for different plot lines, and just overall more stuff than you would get in a movie.
The plot makes it sound like a Green Lantern buddy cop show, kinda here for ig

Creative constructs will make or break this show for me... not that dramatic but still, it would be a BIG bummer if there wasn't some amazingly unique constructs
I PRAY this show to be good! I swear to God, with the true passion, time & love put into this Green Lantern has the potential to become DC's answer to Star Wars. There are so many incredible stories, characters, & fascinating lore to pull from for a whole saga of GL projects/films💚🙏🏾.
Given how CGI-heavy this series will no doubt be, especially with the visuals for the GL constructs, I do think 8 episodes is a solid amount of episodes to allow them to prioritise on focusing on the quality of the show and plot

The DCU is primarily set with already established characters
So Hal and John have been Green Lantern’s for quite some time, The Justice League has already been established, Clark has been Superman for a few years.
Honestly I love that, it worked for The Batman being his second year and Spider-Man Homecoming. Origin stories can be boring

Finally, the Ryan Reynolds GL movie and the lack of use of his character made him an irrelevant character despite being one of the most iconic superheroes. These days people dont even put him on the Justice League roster 😭
I'm a huge Green Lantern fan, Hal Jordan and Superman are my favourite characters in DC and so I hope this is good but this premise just baffles me. I wish it was more like the Animated Series. Anyone who has watched that has seen exactly what a Green Lantern show should look like.

I honestly have always thought the lanterns had one the best lore in DC. I dont understand why we just NOW expanding on their character. So one bad movie they hung it up? Like we didn’t get 4 TERRIBLE batman movies an all the dumbass superman movies we’ve had.

'Based on earth' is a big red flag for me. I mean, they are not detectives on earth. They are earth-soldiers and space-cops. But still, a space murder mystery might go south. So, i guess they are playing it safe.😅
It's great that both Hal Jordan and Jon Stewart are in the series. But I don't understand why two green lanterns would investigate a murder on earth. That sounds like a street level character plot. But Ive still got my hopes up. I'm just happy we're getting a green lantern project.

I am actually very excited! You telling me someone who works on Ozark and watchmen and lost are going to be helming the show?! those were brilliant shows I've heard. Lost is a iconic TV show. I've never seen it but everyone tells me it's a legendary show. That was when TV was great overall. And I know about watchmen from I saw Regina King on it. So already I knew it was a good show and I've heard a little bit about Ozark and people love that show as well it's really good. So this is indeed promising I think this is going to be a really good project

Lindelof the guy who worked on watchmen correct me if I'm wrong but that is DC as well so this is not his first ride with a DC type project so he has an idea of what's expected or some of the properties involved so that's another thing that should be stated as well like when you have someone who already did a really good show in the DC property then there's some experience as to what's expected

I feel like they’re going to try to tone down the special effects by having it take place in the American heartland. Less Star Wars, more Supernatural if you know what I mean.

From what I've gathered from some GL fans, Gunn seems to be pulling from the older comics including John's first few appearances as those GL stories mainly focused them in Earth based cases as partners for the time being. I have no dobut we'll expand to off world GL stories in the future.

I don't like it at all. I don't know why they are attacking Lanterns like this and not like a Star Trek show with the lantern rings instead. I hope this follows the Johns run because that to me is the definitive run of Green Lantern introducing the key staples that have made the stories great in the 21st century. The Emotional Spectrum and fingers crossed building up to Blackest Night. That would be awesome. If not Blackest Night then the Sinestro War.

I would say they should not go into hell Jordans or Jon Stewart's backstorings within the show. They should introduce him as characters part of the established DCU And you'll follow them within. They're different later on character arcs and make it more into a mystery. Then when they have a solo project For each John and Jordan and then you can dive into both of their backstories and their origins of how they became Green lanterns.

This idea might be a long shot, but it doesn't seem that important for Green Lanterns for focus on some murders in earth. I mena they are intergalactic cops I get there would be one on earth to look for things but it can't just be a simple murder mystery. What I'd the murders could play into the character Black Hand the DC finally can do an adaptation of the Darkest Night story. Or maybe at least tease at the idea of the Darkest Knight.

John Stewart is the greatest Green Lantern, we still don't havs a good live action green lantern movie. Hopefully this series does well, taking place on earth doesn't seem exciting.

The reason for it being on earth is because it is a lot cheaper that is the reason why we don't see Cybertron in Transformers or the world we saw at the beginning of the Sonic movie it's just too expensive and hard to create a world for them which requires a ridiculous amount of time,money and cgi so they bring them to earth because
1. You can use real practical locations
2. Its cheaper

The thing I hated the most about the DCEU was that green lantern never got introduced at any point.So I am glad that James Gunn is giving the character(s) the respect he/they deserves
