This is a Josh Ritter song - and a wonderful rendition at that. As Josh described it: ""'Folk Bloodbath' is a song about a bunch of characters from other folk songs: Stackalee, Delia and Louis Collins. They all get together and everybody dies. I think it's a very American song." Now if you're a budding singer-songwriter, there's an opportunity here to do something similar with the long cast of characters who end up dead in traditional British tunes.
Geoffrey Chambers Yep.
I'd never heard Mr. Pikelny sing before, and WOW. SING MORE NOAM! Reminds me so much of a classic baritone celtic or Canadian maritime singer, or even Richard Thompson-esque for some reason. Either way, great stuff.
I honestly thought it was Richard Thompson when I heard this...
You are the world's greatest, most unknown champion.
Noam, thanks for being such a gift to our ears and hearts. You are a treasure, and one of the truly great players on earth.
Lovely job singing Noam!
Noam! You can sing!!!
You are a very gifted musician. I am a follower of yours. You are kind of a unknown.only in certain circles. You most diffenitly need to be recognized much more.
Enjoyed meeting you in Portland, Oregon this summer... and you sang there, too! Great stuff...Love Josh Ritter. Greetings from Paris.
soothing voice, Noam!

Thank you for the correction I am very much appreciative.
Awesome! Nice touch adding Banks of the Ohio in there at the end!
Maybe it's a subtle way to reference a fourth, and even more prominent, character in American folk music: Willie, the perennial murderer of his lover (named in some versions of Banks of the Ohio).
Awesome! Next time you come to Arizona come to Tucson cause...well...we are better....for real....really. See you in Telluride!
Purdy!
Dare I say, even better than the original! I really want to know what instrument you are using on this one though...
I believe it's that tricone plectrum guitar.
Uhhh... I believe it's called a Model 4 Tricophonic Prectum Resitar.
@@shitfaceeduardo Prectum? Where do you put it to play it?
Beautiful & poignant. Is that "Banks of the Ohio" I hear starting @5:15?
This would've sounded great with Alison Krause singing harmony.
Louis Collins. Mississippi John Hurt
great playing Noam but who did vocals on this? He really nailed it.
