These are Jake's pups. Similar to P90s. You can get Bisonics, Novak, HBs, etc. (which I prefer), because it's preorder. I know the Novaks are quite a bit more. I
too bad you can ask for a blend knob or just about whatever you want :P i'm pretty sure you can get one for more like $1,650 waiting for a sale on reverb. good luck!
What overpaying? You may be thinking made in China Squier prices, but the Midwestern 2 is a handmade in the USA bass, with high end hardware and hand wound pickups.
Right. Guild & Novak BS pups are expensive, top of the line (especially Novak) pups. This will appeal to pro musicians who want top quality, hand-crafted short or medium scale basses because there is a niche for that in the market.
I still say there is a "hipster mark-up" element present here. I think the SEREK basses are worth every penny over a thousand bucks or so but no way in Hell worth 2k+. How does this bass sound any better than a REVEREND "Watt-Plower" at $1400?
All that doesn't ad up to over two grand. SEREKs should earn a solid 18-19 hundred bucks but NOT 2K+. No way. I smell hipster markup on these. This bass is for some bearded young hipster/clown who pays $12 for avocado on a slice of toast!
@@craigdamage You're comparing a mass produced bass to a handmade instrument. The reason why they're more expensive is because of the time involved to make them. Go away, troll.
These are modern classics - great looking and great sounding. Kinda like a cross between a Gibson and a Rickenbacker but has its own vibe going too.
Wish I could hear this thing with some old flats on
"These are called the Serek Singles...he likes the humbuckers..."
Uh...what?
bruh
That bass kills- in looks and tone. Wow.
A bass a Vulcan would be 'proud' to play!
I believe that those pickups are single coils.
Nice deep BASS sound........
Aren't they Novak pickups? great demo! This one is definitely on my SHORT list, HAHA!!!

That bass sounds Awesome!!! Short scale and all. Too bad it doesn't have a blend knob and… a slightly lower price. $2100-ouch! Good stuff.

for a custom bass, this is cheap
Just buy a yamaha bb434
"Who is this going to appeal to....?" Hipsters who love to overpay.
