on lower keys outside of having a CR and lust in the team, anything else is just silly. but ppl dont like wasting their time, and they want to give themselves the highest chance of success ergo meta is better in their mind. This tier its better, but i remember the same happening in S2-S3 DF, and casuals wonder why the meta shadow priest is not doing 30mil dps like on streams, but they just dont understand how the class works. Or they think their key wont deplete because X class does 1-2% more dmg (90% of depletes are not because of dps, there is no real dps check) You cant really change ppl's mind in my opinion, you have to work around it yourself, and the best way is to network. Get a guild, get to know ppl, make friends, play with them.
yeah I 100% agree and you've said it better then even myself! I have seen "D tier" classes doing most damage but wont get invited even to keys they have completed haha, a lot of gaming now though even though its a MMO people wanna get into stuff quick not reliant on anyone and play games, and wow is terrible at that in retail. Classic wow everyone's always there to network but I definitely agree with you. Very well said!
1. When you get in competitive play que times will go up and meta classes in a M+ setting is inevitable. When you have a time variation + rotating affix’s certain classes will always outshine others. 2. The key depletion ramble was a bit much to understand. Without that it would different the purpose of the rotation and a smaller map selection. It seems like you’d enjoy raiding more, all the classes are more balanced and see play there.
Yeah, I get that when keys get higher meta specs dominate more, however as a WW Monk, I’ve felt the struggle in trying to get into a +7, despite being capable at those level keys I’ve already completed it and still cant get into groups. It can be tough when you're not in the meta, and the queues can drag on because of it,, it made me and my friends want to play other games rather then wait hours searching! Its an MMO with a lot of people wanting to main their "first character" throughout so its a struggle I actually think key depletion can be a good way to balance that out. If people arent too scared to deplete their key, it might encourage a more group of people to give non-meta specs a shot. Players might be more open to running with those specs if it wasn’t as severe of a penalty, and it would help bring more balance to the groups overall.
@ now that second take is great! When I first started my keystone master grind with pug only tank I instantly forced myself to be okay with lowering my key just because I was doing routes. So I agree with you completely. Thanks for the reply and hope you enjoy whatever game you’re on!
@ Thank you! its really interesting to hear takes but i completely agree with you, ill try get keystone master hopefully but im looking to go warrior or hunter, hunter only cus of lust and BM is quite casual to play if streaming etc, but warrior is more entertaining for me so will weigh it up! i assume my warrior will be in queue for a group for a long time haha
Less than 1% of Mythic + players are pushing past 10s each season. You don't even really need to consider meta comps until like 13s and up. The reason the "Metas" are so toxic is because people keep talking about them with the disclaimer -I do 7s and 8s hurrrrrr- If people would stop comparing themselves to the tip top of elite players, no one would even care about meta picks. Get a lust, get the correct dispells for the dungouns you're running and go dude. My team cleared 13s across the board season 1 with all melle dps and a hpal. like, its really not the big a deal. The Meta mindset is really what ruins M+ for people. Best advice I can give anyone who wants to suffer into the teens keys, is join a guild focused on M+ and form a dedicated group. Other than that, just blast 12s and lower however you want its really not that hard.
That is honestly 100% facts! I could not agree more!!! its all doable with any classes honestly! people wont even take 3 melee dps for a +7 but youre doing +13s shows that its the mentality, which I think would be hard to fix. lead developers of wow mentioned about tackling meta specs by balancing but its more about the players mindset!

@@Zamokei I'm just rejoining after taking dragonflight off and am hoping to hit KSM again but this time with heals. I wish you the best of luck.
@ Man, you're trying to hit ksm this late in the season? I wish you nothing but luck; you're gonna need it.
