He's making it look so easy - like mixing up some scrambled eggs
shut up, you dont know shit.
@@ggallinvevo84 calm down he just wanted to scramble some eggs...
@@jailun6758 Yeah! scramble eggs are the best!
he's creating a painting with those brushes - wow.
Love the recognition about how personal a brush style is. Great point.
Rest In Peace Charli it has been great knowing you
A true master. Srambling some serious eggs! Such beautiful artistry here. Great playing.
Charlie's brushwork on the Sonny Side Up album is nothing short of beautiful...check it out if you haven't already...clearly he hasn't diminished with age. What a master.
Massive Sound! Legendary!
Best brush playing I ever seen, Thigpin is Nice 2...
so tasteful, i love the hihat work!
Brushes has this asmr'ish feel to it and I love it
This guy is so amazing and funny he came to the litchfeild jazz camp while I was there
nothing overdone, he just puts everything exactly where it needs to be...classy.
Incredible Artistry
'im too old for this shit.'
pretty much sums up by his face 😂
Great drummer.!!!
He was on Don Bagley's Jazz On The Rocks album, i recognized his name from that record and immediately clicked
Brushes equates feeling!
Miss you Charli........
That's Beautiful Love!
actually those men are the best in the art of brushes, cause they know what is 50-60th jazz.
wow his voice Oo
what snare heads is he using? texture looks like fiberskyn
Mans cooking that snare
Master at work
👍🏾
After having so many greats play it so perfectly, that snare proceeded to morph into the only musical instrument worthy of Chuck Norris's boy-band.
@JAARNO88 Like the man says, everyone has their own way of playing brushes. There is no right or wrong. He sounds great with great feel. That seems to me to be the bottomline. Thats all that matters
looks like hes having alot of fun
Who gives this a “thumbs down?” Philistines...
Is he in his pajamas?
Luke Matthew I was thinking the S A M E thing 😂
Nice
Smooth (don't miss a beat)...
It would be better if the audio was in sync with the image.
@jpschubbs shot! that was the funniest comment I have ever heard. I read your comment then look at his face and ..it's true! ... great drumming though.
like it!!
Does anyone know the hi hat used in this video?
What drum head is this? I see it everywhere!
1:03 to 1:05 for the win!
I'm pretty sure they do but the video is about brushes so i think the only used the hi hat to accompany the sound of the brushes.
what would this style of music be called?
It sound's like smooth Jazz
Not smooth jazz, but straight ahead jazz.
😮😮😮😮🔥🔥🔥🔥
So it's a stacato?
is that a pdp snare. ;o
ASMR
looks to me like hes doin a bit of spring cleanin lol
It's just if you are teaching someone else in a video, than its better not to pass on faults you may have., The sound is fine but unless you have a physical problem with your wrists you really need to be correct as many of the best drummers in the world have worked out. No disrespect intended.
Anyone else notice the Dream Theater music at the start? As I Am.
i literally play bass why am i here
2:00, 2:50
@jaarno88 it's amazing to me how people like you who have not and probably will never reach the level that this man has in his career will come on here and say he is wrong. Obviously you don't understand that being a Jazz musician, means that you play like yourself. So that when people here you they know it you. You know it's Tony, Jack, Philly Jo, Art,Ed,Elvin. Morello was good but has never had the impact on Jazz drumming that these men have. It's good to like someone but to say a great elde
sort of - except he is not really lifting the brush off of the head
Lol why is the Dream Theater in the beginning
asmr
Remo weatherking fiberskyn 3 fa i think.
Quite possibly.
This is what it looks like when my mom makes egg nog
Kenny clark was the master of brushes... Kluke!
michael j fox would be great at this
@phillipiscool123 Sweet irony :D
the hands are all wrong, check out joe morello for the correct way.
this guy played with Diz for years, Charlie Parker, Duke Ellington, Sonny Rollins, Sonny Stitt, Donald Byrd, Lee Morgan, Art Blakey, Max Roach, Clifford Brown, Freddie Hubbard, and countless others. He was the most recorded jazz drummer in the world during the 60's. Whatever he is doing "wrong" out did anyone doing it "right".
Ha ha dickhead
lol
it sounds really good but it does sort of look like he's just mashing up his food in a bowl
yeah kinda looks like he just crawled out of bed to play drums haha. Love his playing though
pretty sure he's just using parkinsons to his advantage
