@@Natethegreat200c yeah...no. Toyota is #3 in over all reliability (for a brand as a whole), their Lexus brand is #1 (for the entire line up, not just a model here and there). Our factory piece of shit, domestics take up the rear on reliability ratings (as a brand, not for a specific vehicle/model). In fact Fiat is worst, just above that is jeep, then ford. Yes....ford. Then dodge, then gm. Thier are now 30 brands total, sold in the u.s. our own take up the rear every single year.
Reliability means engine/trans/electrical can reach 200k then 300k+ on nothing but required maintenance. No bullshit rebuilds, no bullshit trans replacement. This is on ORIGINAL engine and drivetrain. Their are in fact more Toyotas and Honda's out there with well over 400k ORIGINAL miles, than there are Ford's, gm, jeep, dodge. We're talking gas engines, rivaling America's best diesels.
The land cruiser is in fact legit. They are to this day, unmatched in off road ability (for what they are), quality, and reliability.
Like the poster said. The LX is essentially a land cruiser but rebadged for the american market. GX is in fact a rebadged Prado. The FJ cruiser and 4runners share that same frame. So a poor man's land cruiser if you will. Toyota has worlds best and most advanced automotive factory. World's best and most advanced 4x4 system. #1 globally in auto sales. The Hilux we don't even get here, is worlds most sold truck, on top of being worlds most indestructible truck.
We do make some decent vehicles. But none today can hold a candle to Toyota in longevity. They just can't. Yes, they are capable of high mileage. However you'll dump more money into the domestic to get it to 200k+ than you would the Toyota. And if you have to change any major component to the drivetrain or engine to even get to 200k. It doesn't count. Cuz it's no longer original miles.
Toyota puts a shit ton of money and time into their engines and drivetrains to make sure they last. The ones now having issues, is predominantly the ones made here in the u.s., that right there should tell you something. Our brands design them to break on purpose. Cuz more money for them. As long as they keep breaking, they can rape your wallet every couple years, by talking you into a "newer" model that is also designed to fail.

Land Cruiser is legend. When my dad meets my mom first time, he did buy one 2000 Land Cruiser. My mom says every single day he picks her run all around the town from morning to night, from year to year till now I come to the life. At age 17, I never seen any car which has clocked over 476k miles.... no wonder my mom is right. He takes his best friend go everywhere he wants. Something points out my dad's car is different cause there is golden Toyota logo in front and Land Cruiser badge is golden as well in back. I don't know what it has golden emblem instead silver one. I did ask my dad why don't he trade that Land Cruiser and get LX600 he looks at me and says WHY DON'T YOU BUY ONE.... GET ONE FOR YOURSELF....
...😅😂😂 I was speechless after that..

Can anyone explain the reasoning behind a skylight in the roof of a vehicle? How is having the sun shining in as you drive the deserts highways of AZ or CA a must-have item??? Or are you driving in some manner where you have to see through the roof to know where you are going? I see nothing but negatives in the things, and it is now pretty much impossible to find vehicles that don't have the stupid window in the roof. BTW: Has anyone made a skylight for cars that didn't eventually leak? Oh, the inevitable leaks make then even more "fun".
If I ever drive in a manner necessitating a window in the top, I probably need improved driving skills more than I need that stupid roof window.

Chevy Suburban, hands down. Suburban/Tahoe or GMC Yukon/Yukon XL, I won't have anything else. All the 5.3L Vortec and all the other Vortec engines have been very tried and true and known the just keep running. That's been the case even since they'd been started in the 1990s. 2 of my local car mechanics have confirmed that to me while they had more 5.4L fords in their shops for more expensive and major repairs more often. I also feel it's the best best decision for me is because of he soft spot I have for stuff like Jaguars, Porsches, smaller BMWs, Classic Mercedes Benz's, Ferraris and many other exotics. And choosing the super affordable Chevy Suburban with the durability and often unbeatable reliability can really make up for whatever extra money would get spent on a Jag, Porsche, or Ferrari or whatever else of those. I'm having serious thoughts about actually getting an '04-06 Suburban or Tahoe or GMC's equivalent. 1999-2006 were the years most recommended by another RUclips Mechanic named "Car Wizard".

It has some where from 170-180K miles on it and has the 8.1 Liter engine. And the asking price is $7K. I'm seeing a lot of the shorter wheelbase Tahoes with 3 rows of seats which takes up about all the room, so I may lean more towards the suburban which may may have 3 rows or just 2 and more room to put things in it.
