There is something... fascinating (I think?) about this visual. Nevermind the inspiration it creates, just seeing a simple robot and his miniature companions wandering about on his desk as he writes on scraps of parchment paper with a bottle of ink at the ready, the vast network of pipes and machinery in the background slightly obscured, and the brilliant light illuminating the otherwise empty realm of metal as if to give this strange building a new "life" after some time of some kind of "death"... It seems to want to tell about it's own history despite saying nothing at all.
Thank you for sharing that lovely insight. It's always wonderful to hear interpretations of one's art, and I think you just encapsulated pretty much what I was going for, and maybe more!
You have a beautiful imagination and way of understanding your surroundings, I'm sure I would have found these things sooner or later but absolutely amazing detail and words you put in play. You should be a DM for D&d
That’s an interesting way of looking at it. For me I think of this as the robot wishing to imitate the behavior of a human. While it has comparably a much easier and efficient method of immortalizing its thoughts, in that of a computer, it still chooses to carry out the method of penning it down instead. Also the mass amounts of machinery in the background with no human in sight seems to indicate that there are none here, or rather they may not even exist anymore. You know what Today I'm actually gonna start. Been putting it off for months but this might just get me in the right mood and push me to finally begin.
I’m not a novel writer or anything, but I am a Dungeon Master. This is great ambiance for painting miniatures and weaving campaign twists. I listened to this while painting the dragon for next session and brainstorming his monologue. And to think the party feels safe up in the cloud giant’s castle, muhahaha!
I'm literally listening to this while I put my session notes online haha. I'm a player, and it literally makes my day when I see comments from dms or other players who listen to the same kind of music while doing generally the same kind of stuff. Have fun with your game!
I just got a really cool DM’s journal and I’m listening to this as I write the different kinds of plants and potion ingredients inside. By the way, how was that session with the dragon and the cloud giant’s castle? What was their reaction?
As a first-time DM, I'm glad I found some veteran DMs and roleplayers listening to the very same music. I've been in several campaigns as a player, but being a DM now I feel this playlist is really a very helpful one
Just wanna say that most lo-fi tracks normally have really loud beats and clicks in them and it hella distracts me. This is like the only useful lo-fi compilation that has worked for me to help me focus. Thank you for the bops my man.
Same here. I create lore, stories, and characters but when it comes to actually drawing, I’m not that good, so I’ll just write their descriptions as best I can
Yooo more people that make OCs but don't actually draw them! I can't draw people for the life of me (I can't draw very well full stop lol) which sucks because I'd love to be able to visually see my characters beyond my imagination but hey, maybe some day I'll have the patience to learn how to draw people lol
@@meking1808 I feel this 100%. Unfortunately, my patience isn't that limitless, so I'll probably never will see my characters visualized in a drawing or anything.
Not sure if you'll actually read this but I just wanted to say thank you for your incredible works wether they be stories, analysis, or any other piece. These videos have been instrumental to me learning and improving as a writer, and broadening my horizons as to the sources for my own works. Here's to the one of the biggest inspirations I've found in some time, and hopefully to some day write my way into the world with some modicum of success.
Thank you for this amazing playlist of songs. And yes, it did make me feel inspired to write my own story. I am now almost 11 years old, and today, on 18/03/2023, I have wrote my first story. As a kid, my imagination always runs wild. Even till now, I have a lot of stories floating inside my head. But finally, I have decided to write my imagination out. I have always dreamt of reading a fantasy book that was written by me. Anyway, thank you for this playlist and for inspring me for writing my own story.
Tale Foundry, only a few days left, it will be my birthday, on 26/03/2023 specifically. And surprisingly, it will also be my friend Cecilia's birthday. Today, 23/03/2023, I have written my first story. Cecilia loves reading books, so I intend on printing my first story and giving it to her for her birthday (and my birthday). I hope she likes it. Anyway, thank you for inspiring me, still.
@@tinimunson1242 Well done! I think it's awesome that you're into writing at such a young age. Your imagination will definitely lead you to do great things in your writing. Good luck with any further projects you have. Keep writing! :)
Can I say, thank god for this playlist. Everyday I get distracted while writing and eventually make my way through youtube's informational/essayist videos, and eventually this playlist will pop up, reminding me to actually do the writing and not just the "inspiring". That what I love about this channel. Y'all have put out an amazing amount of writing since the start of this channel. Would love to buy any self-published stuff for this channel!
I've been struggling to get back into writing because my workload has been crushing me! For the first time in the year, I have had a reprieve, but I kept stumbling to write this chapter. But this playlist... it's given me the power to get back to it, no matter how many times I have to rewrite it until I'm satisfied. "Transcendentia" specifically worked perfectly for a scene with two characters talking beneath a starry sky, about the world all around them, it felt peaceful. Thanks!
To everyone who is writing, stop reading the comments and switch back to your document. Stop staring at the blinking cursor. STOP STARING AT IT. Write. Write something. Change the font every time you feel yourself hitting a wall, reread it in that font, and keep going. This is your first draft- you can refine it later. Can't think of a name? Make a comment or note in your document or on a sticky note, stick that note to your screen. Do your reasearch dive *later.* Write. Set a timer for 10 minutes and don't stop writing until it's over, then cut out the fluff. Put a stuffed animal or action figure next to your computer and talk to it about the plot points you're planning and where the story needs to go- programmers explain their code to rubber ducks to find errors, and you will find a way forward if you talk about it. If you're writing for a long time, then get up, get a glass of water, eat a granola bar or something and take a walk to stretch your legs. You'll write better if you're not staring at a computer screen for an hour on end.
Listen man, every time I try to commit to writing this story, my ADHD kicks in and I never finish more than a few disconnected scenes. I've been trying to write this story since high school. I'm 25 now.
I will say. This is how I found the channel. I will never regret finding it. It actually watched the other content and found that spark to start writing again. No longer to make the greatest master piece that makes people think, but to enjoy the craft and what it brings me.
This reminds me a bit of the game Stray, where you play as a cat living in a world with robots that don't look too dissimilar from this one. Great video :))
This is the playlist I'm using for my D&D campaign planner, and for the oneshot I'm doing in 3 days with nothing planned for. Have to make 3 character's (PC's) backstories and the entire session before Halloween day. This playlist rocks, no voices just calm collected good music!
You know you got everything you need when you can watch some writing and worldbuilding tutorials, and then listen to some chill beats to do actual practice to, all from one RUclips channel.
This made for a wonderful backdrop for my painting tonight, and I must see what else you have to offer as of now. I'm weary of a lot of the stories I'm listening to essentially boiling down to "Uh, like, I saw something, and like, I didn't know what it was, so it was, like, a SKINWALKER!" Thanks for a wonderful effort on your end, here!
This is legit REALLY helping me get that drive to keep writing my book. Tells a story based on one single moment I dreamed about, and I found myself really curious to explore it. Already got the prologue and half of chapter 1 done in just 2-3 nights of writing!
One thing I gotta say is I really love the background animation that you have while the music is playing! The robot just writing away and putting more ink in the pen while it has little buddies hanging around, and sometimes there's lava being poured in the background- it's all just so amazing to watch while listening to the music.
No matter what I'm writing, these songs set just the right mood. They can be calm and wonderous, sweet and melodic, ominous and haunting, and happy and bright all at the same time I love this! Oh! and rn, its midnight and I'm writing about monsters in the dark and I swear I will not sleep. I keep looking at my closet and to the edges of my bed, as if a creature will suddenly make it's way out and come kill me Ohhhhh the spook and the vibes! This is the best playlist ever!
I've been putting aside writing for two almost three years now. And this helped me come up with new ideas for my story. Thank you so much and I love the art 💜💜
I've been putting this playlist off because of weeks of terrible migraines, but I've just listened to it now and this actually helps me write and study.
Yassss! I was just looking for something motivational to help me finish my midterm papers for University and then this was uploaded literally 5 minutes ago. Freaking perfect
honest to god, and maybe it's just because I got super high one time while listening to this playlist, but this is in fact my favorite playlist out of several hundred I've listened to now for writing. I hope you make another, it's mad helpful
Not that this isn't helpful to someone, possibly even myself, but I need something to KEEP the world building going. Starting it is easier for me. I have basically a deck of cards to draw from at any time, the real question is how to narrow it down. The other day I was just thinking that it felt like there was a lack of gothic inspired worlds and then I did a couple hours of research, and lo and behold, it might actually be theoretically possible for a blue dwarf to support radiotrophic mushrooms on a world that also had citrus plants. After that it becomes a question of theoretical plant splicing or selective fungus breeding to make a world that could stand alive florally under such a radioactive star. The biggest problem being that due to how the wavelengths of these radiations go, the species of fungus researched would make the colorscheme a muted olive in color. Which might be beautiful with a wider range of visual light than humans have. Another idea is just a musically centric world, culture, and reality. It appears often enough as a thematic level in videogames, but it's never explored in depth in any manner as some sort of natural evolution of Flora and fauna. But the potential it holds is massive simply on the basis of various elements and chemical compounds having its own unique vibrational wavelength. A percussive petunia would be interesting. Flora subdivided by not only phylum, genus, and species, but also by instrumental organization. There is aa world of potential in some of the most mundane things taken to extremes, but I have no staying power for building these worlds properly because I feel like I lack the tools to properly translate this entire vision of a world to others.
Here’s a thought; you could do an anthology series. From what you’ve said so far, you have the ideas, research capability, and a perspective that would do the world good by just expressing yourself. You don’t lack the vision at all. You’ve inspired the heck out of me with this comment alone, imagine what writing these ideas down and fleshing them out would do?
Dear friend. It has been some time since your post and my advice may come late, but I will offer you this. Take a long walk each day, somewhere with some life, or anywhere that separates your normal life and imagination. Breathe in deep what you 'feel' not what you write. A good story doesn't come from simply good ideas because most stories worth reading come from a place of passion, write what excites you not what others may find entertainment. The story and it's concepts will come out by themselves naturally, and let the story 'teach' you. Goodluck
"Mystic Forest" gives me rising-tension-in-a-studio-ghibli-movie vibes. Could easily picture a hero ascending a tall mountain with beautiful landscape shots of rolling fields. Awesome track.

I love you, Chill Beats for Worldbuilding and Writing, the sheer number of academic assignments you've gotten me through this past year... I can never thank you enough...
Damn, i get that the music is the focus and that this is something to listen to in the background while writing or world building but the visuals are so good. I'd enjoy this with only the audio and doing just that, writing with this in the background, but the visuals are equally as good when tied with the audio. I mean it when I say this is truly amazing. The character design mixed with the clear skill for the craft that of which the maker of the visuals for this project has, helps immensely along side the astonishing music which doesn't intrude too much on your thought and instead helps support your writing/creation of the worlds you have bumbling about in your mind. You at Tale Foundry have created something wonderful, just as you always have been and will keep doing. I may not be an experienced writer or world builder but the art of creation and media has always inspired me. Whether that be video making by recording and post production. Creating visual art like drawings, paintings, animations, sculptures, photos, etc. Game creation and design. But most relevant probably being writing. Stories and fictional worlds have been so influential in my life, they form some of my favorite things and inspire me. All the examples of media are 1. Not all there is and it would be near impossible to state all there is. and 2. Inspires me, not only to do those things from the media I consume, like reading a good story for example making me want to write one of my own, but inspire me to do the other forms of media I mentioned and more. I may draw something in the setting of a story with the characters in the story or with characters I make myself or just something inspired by it and it's amazing. Every piece of media I consume plays a part in making me even more interested in media as a whole. The thing is when you get to see what was behind it, how it was made, the original concept, the journey along the way explored by the creators, is something truly inspiring and if said inspiration and motivation sparked by the media and the people behind it were gold, then we would have buildings made from the stuff all around. I know this has been a bit of a wall of text but I really mean what I say. Media makes up the world around us and while it can have it's downfalls it can still be wonderful when this concept of creating the ideas you have into something like an artwork, film, or book, is brought to the right people. Though when I say "the right people" I mean anyone with an idea, even if the base idea is cool or stupid, the way you as a creator actually make it can completely define what the concept actually is, and I guess that's the beauty of it. Sorry that this turned into a bit of a rant/vent on media and creation as a whole but good job Tale Foundry, for everything.
It really bothers me how much does school made me hate books at first. I had to read something I was not enjoying at all, but now, after finding just ONE book I really liked and tons of interesting small tales, I feel like I should start to read more and more. Or even write something. Just a tale, creepypasta, or a simple walk through a magical forest... possibilities seems endless now. Thanks Tale Foundry, you've just earned another subscriber

My friend Morgan and I made a world named Ham. The country’s that exist in this world are Richadania, Junkfoodcity (yes it is a country), Image, Skyfall, and some others that I can not remember. One of my favourite things about it is that after the Richidanian empire of cats fell Richadania was enveloped by Skyfall and became a Dictator ship whose leader was named Tot. The empire’s leader was really named Dictator Tot and I have to say that is the smartest thing I ever came up with as a child.

I've always had ideas for stories but I can't write well or have the motivation to actually write them, but I will often find myself drawing those ideas into characters, fights, of just pictures, and this video makes me want to think of more stories, this entire channel is a gold mine for ideas
"Art is ever such an interesting, yet over look process. In twisting strings and etching paper, we grasp that which we cannot hold, tangling thoughts and ideas into vague abstractions from which we construct form. And somewhere between, from when the first note is played till the last line is laid, it becomes. Seemingly greater than the sum total of it's parts, containing more than canvas, wood and ink. Something almost... real. I shall never know what or who possessed that amalgam of bolts, gears and vacuum tubes, neither the means it was constructed. Carefully crafted in all the ways that matter, oft brilliantly so, and yet complex in an outdated, almost old fashioned kind of way. As if the creator had not yet heard of semiconductors or silicon chips. It bespoke a genius that was far before its time, a kind that only came about rarely every hundred years of so. I'd have like to talked to that man... but given how dusty these walls are and how deep this cavern is, I'd say that's quite unlikely. I dare say I wouldn't reach the bottom in all the years left to my name, had I the courage to even attempt the feat. So I must cut my visit short, lest I lose the way out. Its still down there... some where, penning letters, tearing papers, seeking perfection where it doesn't exist. Unsurprisingly, it's strange obsession has left me with many questions. Does it dream? Does it feel? From where does it pull its ideas? And most importantly and perplexingly, is it alive? I suppose I'll never know."

I love staring at the scene and catching the tiny creatures doing some action. Especially the one on his shoulder. It hardly moves but you can JUST see it lean back a bit and put a hand out when the bot leans forward
Nothing quite like building a world from the ground up. Even if I don't have any sort of story in mind, just getting lost and bouncing between major events and minute details is such a treat!
this visual is genuinely amazing. i always have to avert my eyes from the paper every once in a while to catch a taleoid vigorously scribble on the paper or another one kick its legs, and the moments where talebot thinks for a moment, comes up with an idea, and writes it down quickly before he forgets it... its just such a peaceful writing environment. i honestly kind of want to live there too. what writer wouldn't?

or... badly cooked food after some hours in the sun.
Remember, even if it sounds bad in your head, write it down. You can edit a bad book, but not a blank page.
CURSE YOU JASON MILLER
It's incredible how many other DMs I find on RUclips. Really, really satisfied
Y'know that feeling when you find *exactly* what you needed? This is that. Holy crap I made so much progress on my writing during this.
Wow, Talebot, that’s what you look like when you’re not a shadow puppet?
I mean it’s kinda cool too
Reminds me of a Xelor from Wakfu/Dofus
@@Nokyyyyy agreed like if he was more of an inventor than villain

@@Nokyyyyy the eyes make the resemblance
As someone who makes stories and ocs not art but the characters themselves this is exactly what i needed.
Wait, there's someone out there who writes down their OCs and can't draw them? As a stranger, I respect this.
Same here. I create lore, stories, and characters but when it comes to actually drawing, I’m not that good, so I’ll just write their descriptions as best I can
Yeah same
Yooo more people that make OCs but don't actually draw them!
@@tinimunson1242 hell yeah! I hope everything went well for you, good luck on any writing projects in the future!

Nothing like piano high keys to get the blood flowing! This is great!
DAMN YOU!! YOU CAUGHT ME!!
Listen man, every time I try to commit to writing this story, my ADHD kicks in and I never finish more than a few disconnected scenes. I've been trying to write this story since high school. I'm 25 now.
not you calling me out-- 💀 okay... I'll return...
*realises I went to the replies, furthering my procrastination
I will say. This is how I found the channel. I will never regret finding it. It actually watched the other content and found that spark to start writing again. No longer to make the greatest master piece that makes people think, but to enjoy the craft and what it brings me.
HA SAME!
This reminds me a bit of the game Stray, where you play as a cat living in a world with robots that don't look too dissimilar from this one. Great video :))
You're right! This music would totally fit in with the game.
Nice. To me, this reminds a game that I played many years ago, called "Machinarium".
i just finished stray and i started crying again thanks a lot/j
Ive been worldbuilding my campaign and this is just what the doctor ordered. Especially 11:59 gave me such a lovely background to write! Thank you
ooooo nice what kind of background was it?
This is the playlist I'm using for my D&D campaign planner, and for the oneshot I'm doing in 3 days with nothing planned for. Have to make 3 character's (PC's) backstories and the entire session before Halloween day. This playlist rocks, no voices just calm collected good music!
If only I were good at drawing, I could finally make my dream show a reality. Until then, I'll just create scenes in my head while listening to tunes.
I love the little things in the animations like the little people just hanging around
Been struggling to write a personal essay for one of my classes, and this has really helped to get the words flowing, just in time! Thanks for this
To feel inspired is one of the world’s greatest joys
To inspire others is even greater.
@@Bryce3189 that was unnecessary
I was just about to go to sleep and now I get relaxing music from an awesome channel? Shiiit life is good sometimes.
They can be calm and wonderous, sweet and melodic, ominous and haunting, and happy and bright all at the same time
I love this!
Oh! and rn, its midnight and I'm writing about monsters in the dark and I swear I will not sleep. I keep looking at my closet and to the edges of my bed, as if a creature will suddenly make it's way out and come kill me
Ohhhhh the spook and the vibes!
This is the best playlist ever!
It's been a while since I've listened to this playlist
Yet I'm still writing about monsters in the dark
I've been putting aside writing for two almost three years now. And this helped me come up with new ideas for my story. Thank you so much and I love the art 💜💜
The music combined with Talebot somehow make me feel at peace and at home.
I've been putting this playlist off because of weeks of terrible migraines, but I've just listened to it now and this actually helps me write and study.
Yassss! I was just looking for something motivational to help me finish my midterm papers for University and then this was uploaded literally 5 minutes ago. Freaking perfect
I'm a big fan of "Follow Hidden Paths", it really feels like I just stumbled across a secret fairy sanctuary or something like that.
honest to god,
and maybe it's just because I got super high one time while listening to this playlist,
but this is in fact my favorite playlist out of several hundred I've listened to now for writing. I hope you make another, it's mad helpful
Amateur worldbuilder here! These songs plus gallons and gallons of tea are my fuel whilst writing/worldbuilding. Really inspiring stuff!
There is aa world of potential in some of the most mundane things taken to extremes, but I have no staying power for building these worlds properly because I feel like I lack the tools to properly translate this entire vision of a world to others.
you are creative, and a genius.
This is beautiful. I love it
Here’s a thought; you could do an anthology series.
Goodluck
…holy shit
David Celeste - appears to be an amazing composer! Thanks for sharing!
"Mystic Forest" gives me rising-tension-in-a-studio-ghibli-movie vibes. Could easily picture a hero ascending a tall mountain with beautiful landscape shots of rolling fields. Awesome track.
"This mix is amazing, there are really some beautiful songs in here.

Omg this is all so amazing…Talebot, the video, the music! It’s hauntingly inspiring and melancholically reflective. Incredible.
Can you create another playlist like this please?? Absolutely perfect work/school background vibes! Calmly subtle enough to not distract, but flows enough to keep your mind activated, very well done!
I love the little detail of the radio, every time the music goes louder the frequency of the radio moves faster. Great playlist thank you!!
I love you, Chill Beats for Worldbuilding and Writing, the sheer number of academic assignments you've gotten me through this past year... I can never thank you enough...
I wish there was a longer version of the Tale Foundry theme! I love that Rag-timey music! - Dylan
Literally what I was just searching for. Wow.
I like to listen to Celtic style music as I write. It helps me world build like crazy.
THIS, this is JUST everything i love , robots, music, worldbuilding, writing, drawing, machine, steampunk, it so much...
Fill the void with creation of anything before your soul is smeared across the vast emptiness that is our reality. Infinitely it is filled with objects, but only we give me meaning to any of it. Define your surroundings and never let them go, or else lose yourself in a sea without an end.
This is just what I needed because I always play music while writing then focus on the music

I’m put in a trance state of complete focus and comfortability when I listen to this especially with headphones. I’m over locked in to what ever I’m doing at the time I listen. I appreciate these soundtracks because they do something inside of my brain to make me just work effortlessly and it’s very helpful when I need to do work that I wouldn’t be able to do with crowded thoughts.

Did you make that up yourself, or are you quoting someone? Spot on, whichever it is.

I love staring at the scene and catching the tiny creatures doing some action. Especially the one on his shoulder. It hardly moves but you can JUST see it lean back a bit and put a hand out when the bot leans forward
The amount of writers that comes together from this channel always amazes and inspires me.

this visual is genuinely amazing. i always have to avert my eyes from the paper every once in a while to catch a taleoid vigorously scribble on the paper or another one kick its legs, and the moments where talebot thinks for a moment, comes up with an idea, and writes it down quickly before he forgets it...
