✨ A B O U T ✨
My name is Abbie Emmons I teach writers how to make their stories matter by harnessing the power and psychology of storytelling, transforming their ideas into a masterpiece, and creating a lifestyle that makes their author dreams come true.
Story isn’t about “what happens” - it’s about how what happens affects and transforms the characters. I believe that there is an exact science (a recipe, if you will) behind a perfect story. And if you know what ingredients you need, you can create your own perfect story with ease and confidence. That’s what we talk about every week on this channel - and if it’s something you’re into, be sure to subscribe and join this community!
To the person reading this. I know you're tired with all of this, but you should know. You did a good job. You are great. You deserve to be happy
Same here!
Needed to hear that. Thank you!
I needed that. Thank you❤
Thank you!! 😢😢😢😢
This is a cheesy comment, but I thank you for it today.
When the topic doesn't match anything I'm writing, I love to just listen while I rest. It's so relaxing!
Sci-Fi next???
I'm writing about a girl stuck on a spaceship and how incredibly lonely she is and most Sci-Fi music is all: pew-pew space battle!😓
I want to write how ethereal and vast space is, not an action scene.
Hmmm ditto but my locales vary so this floats my boat but I can see how you need something more specific. Does the music library on the ship still work lol. You'll find something. My fave music is everything, ever listen to viol da gamba solo's?
@@johni1622 can't say I do, but I just looked it up. Such a beautiful instrument!
Maybe this playlist could momentarily help you:

Just search up space music, you'll find ethereal.
@@xx_amongus_xx6987 thx so much!
the spooky swamp music at around 38:45 goes actually so hard, i had to pause writing for a second just to listen to it
The keyboard/xylophone in the bg 🔥 🔥
So this is basically like travelling from Kings Landing, going through Winterfell, and arriving at Castle Black?
I’m in 💯 📝
Theoretically that ,or you're *o u t* 🧍🏻♀️🚪
A man knows it's the Game of Thrones you win or .. uehm not arrive 💀.
✨⚰️✨
I wouldn't ever call Castle Black a good place to be. It's worse than a death sentence for most.
nah i'd say kingslanding is the darkest place to be. All that shitty odor? Just ask lady ollena😭😭😭😭
More like Fable to me, but I like your perspective as well.
How- How is it possible, that you know EXACTLY what kind of mood we all needed to write to? THANK YOU SO MUCH, ABBIE!!
I really appreciate all these immersive writing sessions you post!
Abbie nailed it with this it's just beautiful right.
it hit the nail on the head
It's true! How. . .🤔🤨
*Sad, sentimental music has a transformative power, enveloping listeners in a cocoon of introspection and self-reflection, where vulnerability is celebrated as a testament to the beauty of the human experience*
"...it gets darker and spookier..." this is true. the further I get along my world's (not the actual book itself) timeline, the more I regret adding to it.
Me too tho-
same here, oulu starts out good but its hell by ark'angelsk
I agree especially hurting your own characters 😭
thats called "plot development"
@@cymikgaming1266 ik but it hurts so bad when you hurt them. Sometimes I feel a deep connection with my OCs so I hate giving them traumatic backstories but they're necessary and sometime it hurt😭s
GUYS-PLS WATCH AND DO THE VIDEO!! it is so awesome! pls make more like this!!
i was originally going to use this for a homework project, but you inspired me to go beyond that and actually write a book that might get published!! Thank you so much!
For whoever is reading this; YOU CAN DO IT!! keep going on your writers adventure and you will succeed.
may i have a link or basic description good sir?
I also request a basic description good sir.
If I may, receiving a basic description of your work would sound lovely good sir.
The kingdom is trembling.
They could fall anytime.
The Alliance did what they could.
The traitor deceived.
Good people fell.
Close friends.

*And Valora, a 15 year old girl, is the only one who can stop it all from finishing.*
The only one who can stop the evil from spreading.
Its their last hope.
Idk if this counts as a description or not lol i'm bad at summarizing but here it tiz… I don't want to spoil anything else if it does get published lol. Ty!! (medieval-fantasy, of course, but with a twist..)
Whoa this thing is amazing😳 I usually am super procrastinated when it comes to actually typing my thought down but this thing suddenly spawn a whole entire chapter out of me in 3 hours😳😳😳
I'm exactly the same. I want to write but I'm a procrastinator
@@ReiseLukaswe’re lucky to be born in a generation with things like this, music like this turns on my writer brain
Exactly!!!!!!!!! My brain started firing until it almost error coded lol
I'm a personal fan of the 12:00-13:30 marker on Sprint 1: Mountain Pass. Apart from sounding great on its own, the music which follows the previously mentioned portion shifts towards an up beat feel good wagon riding, country siding, peaceful adventure. Makes me imagine that the adventurers accomplished some great feat & hopes are high. I live for these playlists.
As you venture deeper into the remote small, poor kingdom on the edge of the world, the once lush green forests and peaceful meadows start to give way to twisted, gnarled trees and barren wastelands. The sky darkens, and the air grows heavy with an eerie silence that chills you to the bone.
As you journey on, you begin to hear strange whispers and whispers that seem to come from the shadows themselves. You can't shake the feeling that you're being watched, and every creak and rustle sends a shiver down your spine.
Soon, you encounter a village, its buildings dilapidated and abandoned. The air is thick with the stench of decay, and the streets are littered with debris and fallen leaves. As you move deeper into the village, you realize that something terrible has happened here.
You hear the sound of footsteps, but when you turn to look, there's nobody there. The hairs on the back of your neck stand on end, and you can feel a cold sweat breaking out across your body. You're not alone in this place, and whatever is here with you isn't friendly.
As you push forward, the darkness only grows more oppressive. You see twisted, demonic creatures lurking in the shadows, their eyes gleaming with malevolent intent. You try to run, but you realize that you're hopelessly lost in this haunted world.
The sounds of screaming and moaning fill the air, and you can feel the evil presence closing in on you. The world around you seems to be unraveling, and you can't tell what's real and what's not. You're trapped in a nightmare, and you don't know how to escape.
You desperately search for a way out, but the world only grows darker and more twisted as you go. You start to fear that you'll never make it out of this place alive, and that you'll be trapped in this nightmare forever.
bro wtf that was beautiful.😍😱i am quite scared for my OCs now.
too many adjectives
The setting, atmosphere and mood is absolutely great and encourages you to write more and use your imagination, which is honestly really helpful. Excellent work
Can you do one on that is suspenseful for intense scenes? I just discovered these yesterday and love them so much!
Also, how do you find such good music to go with what I am writing?🤔
I don't know how but this actually made me write along with it. the plot was automatically in my mind and I just went with the flow. ended up with the best plotline I could have come up with.thank you for your amazing videos, and excellent work.

I've been up for 20 hrs and I have to be back up in 2 hrs, but I've been having SUCH insomnia restlessness lately. Somehow I had a feeling that flutes would help to soothe me, but this video was even better than I expected. The music and reason are perfectly gentle and balanced so there's no startling dynamic changes, and the background scenery is beautiful and relaxing as well, so soft and still and comforting. As soon as I turned this on I felt the bodily tension and frantic thoughts melt away into perfect peace. My eyes are already closing. Thank you so much for this good medicine 🙏💜
this is just absolutely amazing. i'm not currently writing a fantasy, but after listening to this I really want to. which is honestly not a good idea cuz I already have so many unfinished projects that need attention. is that gonna stop me? probably not, because is have no self-control.
Amen! 😂❤🙌
I'm not a writer but a reader and those videos fit perfectly ✨🐉
I was so down after my pc stopped working today. Had worked on a story for almost 2 weeks, multiple hours a day. I made a backup, but can’t access it without my computer working. I literally had a breakdown. But now I’m starting to watch your videos for new writers and it helps alot. You have so many good tips. I now am using this situation as a new start, where I can do even better then before and thanks to you, knowing so many things, I’ve never heard of.
So thanks alot for this. Love your channel.
(Also sorry for my english. I’m not a native English speaker and unlike my stories, do not prove read comments 😂)
Jsyk your English is great, couldn't even tell haha. Good luck on your next project!
Thats the spirit! ♥ keep going~ best of luck and happy writing~~
I teach creative writing for a university, and my students love deciding which of these aesthetic tracks we are going to play for the in class writing assignments and exams.
This is what I needed today! (Also, longtime various watcher, new subscriber as of today.) I am writing a fantasy story where the events do become "darker (and spookier)" the longer I write. 🙂 Unfortunately, I have to go to work soon, but I shall listen to this in full when I return. 👍

Im gonna use this for every time i need to work on my fantasy novel this november
How did it go? ✨
@@Codys_Corner Pretty good!
Some of the music in the Spooky Swamp gives me MAJOR MediEvil vibes, I know I can't be the only one.
First, thank you so much for compiling this. It is incredibly calming and has made my work progress on my first planned fantasy novel to go very well. I am getting about 650 words down per sprint. I will gladly take 2,600 words written in two hours.
Secondly, I wish the best of luck to any and all writers who are trying to just do the dang thing, keep going. You got this!
only a minute in, already loving this! I'm using it for studying and school but i will come bak when i write. this is already an amazing soundtrack and i look forward to watching my story flow out of my head in colorful swirls of music-driven creativity.
thanks!
Honestly a good idea to study to this, in going to try that out when school starts back up
That dragon cave music was FIRE (pun intended lol). Also, really neat how you ended the journey with a return to the town rather than in the monster's lair! For some reason that had an especially calming effect on me.
I'm currently listening to this while writing. it's dumping down rain, and I can't stop imagining myself in a huge dimly lit library, reading all the wizard's tomes I can lay my grubby hands on... I'm having a grand old time right now... thank you for sharing.
I just now discovered this, but I highly appreciate the break times! I'm actually animating instead of writing, so the break times are allowing me to take a break and rest my wrist to some beautiful nature sounds ^^
I have to state...your approach to these videos, changing the scenes and sounds truly helps on another level. Haven't found any other like it. 💯👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾❤️
You gave me the motivating and spark of idea that I needed to put down my thoughts on paper. Just a few more days, then my exams will be over and my bday will come, along with the _vinash_ (destroyal) of my sever writing block, and I shall be CELEBRATING MY VICTORY..
wth this is so contraproductive because I've been staring at my screen doing nothing but staring at the clouds moving and I swear I can feel the breeze and the grass tickling my cheeks as I lay there in the meadow waiting and watching as my sheeps grass and my dog runs around. My fantasy self would never guess that my real self is sitting in an office cubicle, trying to focus on what task I have to do first
I've almost finished Act 1 of my first book! And it's thanks to you, I wouldn't have got this far if it weren't for your videos thanks for being such an inspiration, keep up the good work!
I'm using this for my dnd campaign, I've been procrastinating on it for so long.
This one is my favorite. I love that the sprint counter is not front and center, thank you.
I know I'm late to the party, but I absolutely love this music Abbie!! I am currently writing my senior thesis for my B.A. in Creative Writing. This is really helping me get into the mood to write it which are fairy tale retellings in the feminist lens! Thank you!
There's a tabletop music site I've been going to, but I haven't had the time/energy to create a full adventure playlist thing like you have here, so thank you! The other things of "peaceful music for 2 hours" are nice, but this provides relevant variety!
I'm using this immersive session every day! 2 hours FLY and I'm almost finishing the outline for my book. Perfect! :D
This is so beautiful and exactly what I needed. Thank you so much, Abbie! ❤️ You've helped me so much as I start writing my original fantasy novel.
When I saw your username I literally started singing the song-
This particular writing sprint video almost single-handedly got me through my dissertation work. I can't thank you enough for making these!
This is literally amazing. I'm writing to this right now for my NaNoWriMo project and it's so helpful! Absolutely stunning music, and it all flows so seamlessly together. You really did an amazing job with this. Thank you so much for sharing it!
You are a GIFT... much love & appreciation 💛
Thank you for making this play list it is an amazing as well as beautiful track
The wind hollowed beneath her feet as she immersed herself into the beautiful spring river surrounded by lushly green valley's, her hands summered under the cool running stream that ran down past into a small like lake! A voice could be heard echoing through the wide landscape, Annabel where are you? Annabel quickly recognized the voice and with some cleaver thinking she dove into the water hoping not be found, please just go away Ron for I wish not to talk with you right now. Luckily Annabel learned to hold her breath for up to an hour so while she waited for Ron to go away she swam with the red eyed perched fish that happened to swim by at that particular moment.
La persona que ha creado esto es de otro planeta. La pegaste en todas, no podía creerlo cuando leí break, y posta me estaba tomando un break jajaajaa. Avancé muchisimo con mi historia gracias a este mood , fascinantee muchas gracias muchas!
It helps me with writing - I have done 900 pages with this!
I love the progressive aspect of this, I've listening to this while studying and honestly I feel like im making real progress as the music changes. I'd love a whole series of this
The song starting at 50:33 was wonderful.
the way you signal the breaks is pretty genius imo. Its gentle enough not to be jarring or annoying but obvious enough that I looked up and noticed oh its break time. Genuinely impressed how you did that.
I wish everyone here the best of luck with their writings!
We will finish this together!
I don't know anything that would make me more productive than this - THANK YOU!!!
I clicked this with zero expectations and ended up going on an epic adventure. Thank you!! :D
I saw this playlist and immediately started writing. It is so useful! It really gets you in a writing mood and it gets your creativity flowing. 👍 For someone with a mind that is always thinking of mythlical creatures and stories, this playlist is pure gold.
Thank you! I’ve had a book series in the works for 5 or 6 years, on and off, and I finally found it in me this summer to progress regularly, this helped!
Wonderful job Abbie! I'm playing this in the background while I do engineering work. Could I request several other regions? My favorite being ancient ruins. Deserts, The Feywild(I'd like to hear your take on how the feywild would sound.) Tropical jungles, islands and of course the underdark! But my favorite is ancient ruins.
Please make more of these. They are great not only for my writing, but for work or even when I just want to relax and read.
I have listened to a lot of fantasy music, played thousands of hours of fantasy, RPG, MMO and strategic games, I have facilitated hundreds of hours of DnD as a Dungeon master...and this video with the music within is in my top 3 playlists of all time! It's one of the best things I have experienced!
NO WAY YOU DID THIS. I LOVE IT! You don't have an idea of how much this is going to help me to keep writing, I'm so grateful 😭💖
I’ve been procrastinating all day, but I put this on and got out a solid 2 hours of editing that felt easy! Thank you 🙏🏼
Wow, this is the best use of of a platform like youtube I've seen in a long time. Creating a setting for the ideas to literally spill. What's a blank page again? Bravo!
I've felt stuck in my writing for over a year and this brought me back to life. Thank you for this, it was so helpful!
This is amazing! Thank you. I am a fantasy and dystopian writer. I have been watching you for about two years now and appreciate your content so much. Your sister Kate has also helped me so much with her sweet positivity and meditations. You are both beautiful and love and appreciate you very much! ☀💙
I have this playing through my headphones and blocking out loud coffee shop noise right now, which was desperately needed for the sake of my productivity. I love it, thank you!
2,000 + words in 2 hours! I love this! Thank you so much! I appreciate you!
damn you write/type fast
I love thisss!!! Plz do more Abbie! As a fantasy writer I have so much trouble finding the music I need to establish the mood. I spend so much time looking for the right music I end up exhausted and quit before I've even written for the day. These playlists would make it so much easier 🥺 I hope you can make more plz 🥺
I love your immersive writting sessions! Thank you for posting them!
Love this! Thank you for making this. I personally chose to cover the countdown number (because I distract myself too much with it, lol), but loved having the moving slider at the bottom of the screen to show my time progression. That was a nice added touch and I don't know why this is, but it's more motivating for me to see that vs the countdown. Although I didn't mind the countdown on the breaks. But don't take the countdown off the sessions as I'm sure there may be others who prefer the countdown. The break screens were amazing too! They were so fitting for each of it's individual break. It was especially pleasant to see a small montage a few seconds before starting a session again.
I also want to mention that I heard about your immersive writing sessions from your podcast!
I've used these prompts before for writing and world building for dnd, however I used this to clean today and I have never been more productive! It reminded me to take breaks and go at a pace I was comfortable with! I especially knocked out a bunch during the sword fights lol
Thanks for putting this mix together! I listen to your music all day! Really appreciate you doing this bro!
Thank you for creating such a harmonious sanctuary for the soul. 🎵🌟 Sending you wishes for wellness, happiness, and a flourishing career! 🌈💖
This is my favorite of your immersive writing sessions yet, Abbie! Super, super well done!!
I had a writing block. I was stuck at the same scene for over a month an could not get it finished. I finally did so today thanks to your Playlist. Thank you. These are great!!! 😊🥳
This was incredible Abbie! Thank you so much for this... it's just what I needed for my medieval fantasy 😊
