I was only 18 when this album came out. Spirits Having Flown had 3, #1 hits! The first 3 tracks on this album are Tragedy, Too Much Heaven and Love You Inside Out. The Bee Gees were truly blessed during the mid to late 70s. All they touched turned to gold. The brothers Gibb wrote over a 1000 songs for themselves and other top artists over their amazing career. No one else will ever sound like them. A true original! They grew up singing together since they were kids. One reason why their harmonies were always so tight. Barry (the oldest) is the only brother living now. A bittersweet truth now when not so long ago they were on top of the world.

Really really enjoyed your reaction. This is one of my all time favorites. They have so many great songs as well as songs they wrote for other artists (of more than one genre). Two other songs I highly recommend are Bee Gees “Will you still love me tomorrow” and “wish you were here”.

A little background. Barry Gibb (middle) September 1, 1946. He and his wife Linda have been married for 54 years. They were married on September 1, 1970, which was Barry's 24th birthday. They have 4 sons and one daughter who is the youngest. Also, 7 grandchildren. Barry's chest is shiny with blotches because when he was about 18 months, he pulled a pot of hot tea from off of a table. His mom said he didn't speak for a long time (close to 2 years.) He was close to dying because there was no skin grafting back then and gangrene was beginning to set in. Barry said he has no memory of it happening, just the scars to prove it. Robin (on our left - long hair) and Maurice (on our right - short hair) were fraternal twins. Maurice Gibb - pronounced Morris (December 22, 1949 - January 12, 2003) heart attack, while getting surgery for twisted intestines. Survived by his wife and 2 adult children. Robin Gibb (December 22, 1949 - May 20, 2012) doctors found out he had the same intestine problems as Maurice. When they went in to fix it, they found cancer. He is survived by his wife and 4 adult children. Andy Gibb - not pictured - (March 5, 1958 - March 10, 1988) He was too young to sing with his brothers. He had his own successful career. He was survived by one daughter. I saw a video where they said it was planned for Andy to join them, but he passed away before it could happen. Andy and Barry look so much alike that people thought they were twins. They wrote their own songs and wrote and produced songs for a lot of other artists. Barry didn't always sing in falsetto. They were asked if someone could sing falsetto on a song. Barry volunteered, and the rest is history. Robin sang falsetto too. On a side note, the first born is their sister, Lesley (Gibb) Evans. (January 12, 1945.) She can sing, but she did not want to be in the limelight. She lives a quiet life. She and Barry are the last two survivors of the family. (Their parents are deceased also.) Maurice passed away on Lesley's 58th birthday. They were so popular that some radio stations had a 'Bee Gees free' weekend. NO requests for their songs. There's so much to write about them. In your spare time, I think you'll like what they have contributed to the music industry. I read that this performance was done in one take… don’t know if it is true but makes it even more amazing to me…
