    Expecting a quiet, relaxing paddle to ease ourselves into our summer Yukon adventure, we face high winds, ferocious bugs, and washed out camps on the Nisutlin.

    Spectacular shots, much enjoyed. I really appreciate your dogs (both with a lovely demeanour) and at the same time appreciate how your vids are not *about* the dogs. It would be easy to do, but you just sprinkle them in nicely. You're a great couple pumping great content---keep it coming! Glad to see you use the magnum for protection in the Yukon, just remember to keep those bowls clean!

    I drove the Alcan in January 2009 . I’m from Arkansas and had never seen anything like that. White out conditions and we drove 20 mph nearly the entire way. We almost named our daughter Teslin. We went through Revel Stoke and that was an amazing stop. We got stuck in White Horse at the Walmart during a blizzard and slept in our truck over night in the parking lot. It was -58 degrees and like 4’ of snow fell on us. It was a rough nite but we had prepared best we could. My wife and 8 year old son and I. We drove from Arkansas to Anchorage where we lived for 6 months. So much more to our story but this video brought back so many memories. Thanks
    Best RUclips video I have ever watched.

    Nice video! I did that same canoe trip with my parents in the early 1970's when I was 8 years old.
    We lived not too far away in a cabin that my dad built on the shore of Morely Bay.
    I like the scene where you show the bear spray. There was no such thing back then, so for bear deterrent, my dad kept his "grocery getter"--a loaded 30.06 that he used to harvest moose off the land for us to eat.

    • @CanoeTheNorth
      @CanoeTheNorth  2 года назад

      Thats very much James. I think this is some of the best moose country we have ever seen. If I was picking a place to go moose hunting in the Yukon I don't think you could do much better than the Nisutlin. Thanks for the comment James. Always interesting to hear from people that have done the same trips.

    When my wife and I did that trip it was all gravel. We did it in a Toyota land cruiser some 40 years ago. We almost moved out there from Toronto. But moved to Schreiber Ontario instead and loved it. Back on the Bruce Peninsula where my wife was raised. I really miss north of Superior.

      @@CanoeTheNorth Hello! Yes I have a pretty big summer lined up. Mostly in the home province of Ontario. But I have big plans to hopefully go to Thailand in the fall!
      Hey I hope this isn't to weird but I am reaching out to a few of my favorite RUclips paddlers to see if anyone would like to take a greenhorn such as myself along on a trip and show me the ways of the paddle lol. I have been obsessed with getting into canoe tripping for the last few years. I do have some experience but still very much a rookie. Don't worry I have no expectations but I figured you never know if you don't ask.
