- In this video we teach you how to set up the new Echo Show 3 3rd Gen that was launched in the summer of 2023.

The Echo Show 5 3rd Gen is a wifi smart speaker with a video touch screen with Alexa built in. You can ask it questions using Alexa commands or ask it to play music or control your connected smart home devices.
The Echo Show 5 Gen 3 is an update from previous generations with sleeker lines, updated buttons and a video privacy shutter that can physically block the camera when not in use.
My primary use for the Echo Show 5 is to use it as an alarm clock and listen to music at my desk while not taking up too much space.
How To Set Up The Echo Show 5 3rd Gen:
1. Download and install the Amazon Alexa App. Login and create a username and password then open the app.
2. With the Amazon Alexa app open and while you are logged in you can then plug in the power cord for the Echo Show.
3. Once you plug in the power cord for the Echo Show it will then automatically set up on your Amazon Alexa App. You can then follow the instructions to set up your Echo Show 5 3rd Generation on the Amazon Alexa app.

Question: When it gets to the update, part mine stays at 0%, and after a few minutes, it says something about network connection and gives me the option to continue or change wifi connections. When I click change wifi it stays on a black screen with only the words "UPDATING..." is there a fix for it?
Edit: I contacted Amazon support and they told me to let it sit for 2 to 24 hours and try it again. But I don't think that's going to work. It's like it's refusing to download the update like it's supposed to when you set it up I have even factory rest it with the mute and volume down button and still not working

So you showed the easy way if you purchased from Amazon but I purchased from Best Buy and there are no instructions in description for adding echo show 5 3rd gen to the Alexa app anyone know how to do this?
Nope. My new Show not did the Alexa app work at all like any of this, what a terrible experience yet again from from another Amazon product...
