As I write this comment (11/5/2023), today is Harvick's last race for a full-time season. Thank you so much for the memories and an amazing career, Kevin! :)
I am still a huge Dale SR. fan, and Kevin's win was just such a needing win for everyone in NACAR. Kevin was not the new Intimidator, but he filled those shoes better than anyone else, with his own toughness and his ability to finish races was elite. I stuck with Kevin over Jr. after Dale's death.
My Ex and I spent every Sunday the same way. Wake up to CN's, Cartoon Planet. Space Ghost, Zorak, Brak and Moltar. The Sunday LA Times all over the end of my King Size bed. Breakfast of Spinach, Mushroom and Cheese Omelets and NASCAR. The perfect Sunday, every Sunday. We watched Dale Sr.'s end and Kevin Harvick's start. You have no idea how many tears were shed. Anybody who has anything bad to say about NASCAR, I will fight toe to toe, to my last breath. And I'm a Surf Bum from Santa Monica Beach, California.
16:17 - I agree with DW here. I thought Harvick's first races in the #29 were going to be an adjustment as he got to know the Cup team and get used to working with them, but he ran up front and won right off the bat. There's a reason Dale thought highly of Harvick and wanted RC to promote him to Cup.
So I have a question during the pit stops I noticed they have a little square can they put in the back of the car while filling the car with fuel what is in the square can oil??
It was called a Catch Can. The older style gas cans they used didnt have a mechanism to allow the air in the tank to escape, so they needed the catch can to plug into the fuel spout which allowed built up air to escape and allow the fuel to go in quickly without restriction

There are times when NASCAR racing is truly quite beautiful. The final 12 laps solidify that statement.
man 2:19:18 breaks my heart. Darrell was worrying the worst could happen on every crash after Dale died on his first broadcast.
This proves that the HANS device works
An emotional victory is all i would say for this race
Kevin taking that victory lap past the front grandstands ho0lding out three fingers to the crowd made me a Harvick fan for life at the time.
Back when most of the cars sounded Muffled when they flew by the cameras
Edit: The beginning of a legendary career by Kevin Harvick
Year 2023 and still bringing true fans to tears care of Earnhardt man if he only knew what he truly meant…

Was at this race. Ward had the best looking car. He was my favorite as a kid
please make the cars race like this again .

I miss this Atlanta
How about this week's finish?
Yup.
Best Finish I’ve ever seen .
The one time I was happy with Jeff Gordon finishing 2nd
If it wasn't for that slow car off of 4, he would have won. Regardless, I wasn't upset that he finished second.
as a lifelong Gordon fan, I'm STILL upset about the 2nd place finish!
That’s the best second place finish ever. Healed everyone also Gordon won this year by 350 points
Cope
I love Jeff, but this is one time I’m glad he lost.
How did Mike joy hold it together
Man that Kevin Harvick kid is impressive I bet he's going places

@@jordan_sal413 thanks for the info.
I was at 2000 race with photo finish of dale and labonte
NOBODY could have done a better job taking over for Dale than Kevin Harvick.
Lost in this race, Dave blaney had a heartbreak
Yup, had a fast car, led about 65 laps, then his left rear tire falls off 😢
how many of us became Harvick fans that day? I did at least for a time.
Mike Joy's voice was cracking talking about that win.
Wow. The next race after the tragic Daytona 500 a DEI car wins then the next his old team. "3" emotional races in a row.
Daytona, Rockingham, then Atlanta in 2001
GORDON GOT LOOSE ITS HARVICK!
2:26:57 lol when first learn about newfangled tech.
👍 🏁🏁 👍
This Is The Day When Kevin Harvick Won.
Poor blaney
