Wow! Motsi is a star. Just loved the triple summersault retrieve. And such amazing drive for a youngster in cold tough conditions in really big country. A dog to treasure.
That double at 4:30 under those dark skies. Pure magic, you can't buy moments like that. Thanks for not hotspotting, I live and hunt in Wyoming but you kept it pretty discreet.
@@ericforrester1 and don’t feel too bad about the poor shooting that you displayed that last half of the video. On Sunday I shot a triple within the first 10 minutes and then proceeded to miss a bunch until I got one. And then missed some more! But the eight Chuks I got the day before made me feel a little better.
Eric was able to pretty much take Moxie straight out of the box and plop her down into new birds and country... she was an extremely quick learner and started putting the hurt on the Chukar. She's got the short tail, though.....(a Setter guy inside joke) :)
If the first part was good, I liked it more. Nice hauls and collections, healthy envy from Spain. What a great country yours. A free man, on free hunting and on free ground. Congratulations and thank you for sharing the beauty of hunting.
I find when my shooting gets like that I try too hard and miss more and get more frustrated. I try to stop, take a bunch of deep breaths, and relax and reset. Then say to yourself that you are just going to relax and have fun. It doesn't always work, but more often than not it does. Great video! You and your doggies did a great job on those Red Legged Devils!
Just found out your channel a week ago. Your videos are really beautiful to watch. Thanks for sharing all of them. It's a great pleasure to watch. Greetings from.... far far way :-) Kenneth from Amsterdam The Netherlands
Hi Eric and thanks for sharing this wonderful content. I hunt chukar almost exclusively and I can tell you your shooting is exceptionally good. It is very common to have such days when birds under pressure flush from long distances. The only advice I can give is to go after them. They usually don't fly easily three consecutive times and they hold better when a dog is pointing on them. Regards from the other site of the globe.
@@ericforrester1 Each covey has a territory of approximately 1 to 2 square kilometres (depending on population density and resources). If you force them out of that territory that they know and they really feel confident they are reluctant to walk around and confuse the dog and they hold well to the point of the dog. I know that's sound theoretical in the chukar country but it happened to me a few times and results are very sattisfactory.
Nice one again, at least you're finding birds, wish I had the energy to go after them once. Heck if they are wearing you out, I probably wouldn't have a chance. He's right about the fly tying, I use that feather all the time.
Love the video Eric. Not only are we pretty well locked down in my part of the UK but I have slipped a disc in my lower back .Most of my time is spent lying on the floor so I need more of your videos to watch .
Pat sure knew the game and has nice dogs. I’ve chased Chukars and Huns for thirty three years: It takes good stamina and strong legs (hunter & dog), as well as good bird sense (hunter and dog). Charlie Waterman the noted outdoor writer use to comment that hunting chukar required the mental skill of an Army General. I believe you have the chukar hunting bug and the making of a very good chukar dog!

I was thinking it was fantastic to see someone that can shoot, I watch a lot of videos and they can't shoot. Then you forgot to reload, I'm in tears laughing, been there done that.

Great work Eric! When me and my dog can't get out, your video chronicles are the next best thing.
