    All cities & towns in Mexico have a traditional local market selling everything from dried chilies to toilet brushes. It's like Walmart...just more authentic and how life used to be. This one is in Mexico City. Let's check it out!

    Love this video of the market! My husband is Polish and last time I took him to San Cosme market and he loved it! We ate a nice "comida corrida" and then, we buy some tea from the herbal man! jajajaja, and at the end we got a homemade yogurt! he absolutely loved it! I did a good job introducing him to the tradional market! XD

    Hey! Just discovered your channel
    I think it's great that you're making videos about the lifestyle in Mexico. I'm mexican and I'm always very interested in other cultures so this is the kind of videos I'm interested in. I have considered doing a channel about Mexico as well, but I realized that it'd be pretty hard to actually show how life is in here, since I don't really live a very mexican life per se… but anyways, glad I found this!

    The frozen paletas de fruita are the best. My favorites are the ones spiced with chilies, as the sweet with the hot makes a great combo. Looks like the peso is continuing to fall which is good for us American tourists, but I feel terrible for the Mexicans who earn pesos :( Lets' hope the slide stops after our election in November.

    This is my mercado!!!! Yes, supposedly Passmar is the "best" coffee in the city. I totally agree with how ridiculous it is that the Blockbuster is still standing. Our neighbourhood is kind of boring (apart from having Poliforum) But you should do a video about la condesa, el centro and ecobicis! I think you're whole project is great and informative to foreigners.

    What do you think of the overhead wires?

  • @adanfime
    @adanfime 9 лет назад +1

    Just something I wanted to point out. Blockbuster is still pretty popular here in Mexico. The reason why, is because people here are still not fully used to the whole digital downloads and/or streaming services, such as Netflix or Hulu Plus. Netflix costs around 90 pesos a month while Hulu Plus is non-existent. Now, people still prefer renting a movie for 20 pesos for a week, rather than a whole catalogue of movies for 90 pesos a month.
    Also, Blockbuster is partnered with Gamerush, which is a pretty big video game market in some states of the republic. They sale consoles, games, accessories, and a couple of toys. Here in Chihuahua, Gamerush is the only videogame store that still operates.
    So we expect Blockbuster to stay alive for a couple more years :)

    • @TrueMexico
      @TrueMexico  9 лет назад +1

      AdanPlays I didn't know Blockbuster was still that popular so thanks for telling me. It's weird how it takes time for people to shift to a new habit (90 pesos for loads of movies for a month) which is clearly a better deal. But people have habbits & there is still something nice about going to a Blockbuster and picking a movie. As a kid in England we had a 'video' shop near our house. It was a converted upstairs apartment. Each room was a a specific section (eg Action) & every bit of wall was coverered by a movie poster.

    • @mandm060782
      @mandm060782 9 лет назад

      I do not believe block buster can stand it vs Netflix and on demand packages from TV suppliers. Google movies is also becoming more popular in MX. Do you recall videocentro?

    • @carlosmante
      @carlosmante 9 лет назад

      AdanPYosho The reason people in Mexico keep renting movies is Because most people don't have internet service. Another reason is the internet is low speed, so streaming movies in almost impossible. It is amazing anyway that people is renting movies because Mexicans are one of the countries where people buy most Pirate and theft merchandise.

    • @carlosmante
      @carlosmante 9 лет назад

      Mario Millan Forget Netflix, Mexicans are used to buy pirate and theft merchandise.

    • @bromurodeetidio3917
      @bromurodeetidio3917 9 лет назад

      +AdanPYosho To be honest, another important thing is the fake copies of movies that are in sold all over Mexico. One "pirate" movie can cost as cheap as 5 pesos. I am sure Blockbuster will disappear soon.

    No man! at 10.31 that's not Jesus, that's Judas the Apostle. The cult to this saint is very important here in Mexico, he is almost as popular as La Virgen de Guadalupe, and you can see it the 28th of every month at San Hipólito's church in Mexico City

    I don't think that's Jesus. It might be St. Joseph.
