In Korea, there is a culture that respects older people. Because I think it's natural to respect someone with a lot of life experience. It is a happy thing to respect an adult.😊
Thank you for watching BTS' music video. I pray that you will always be healthy.
Please understand me because I am not good at English.
I understand you :) And thank you!
I am glad your culture still respects experience and age. That is a great thing, Thank you JS Kim!
"As someone who likes the surreal and mysterious..." YES, I feel exactly the same way. Not that I can't enjoy or appreciate a linear story, but the thing that really sucked me into this universe was the fact that I felt like some kind of existential detective trying to solve a mystery through music, dance, symbols and theatricality. This is the video that sunk its teeth into me and wouldn't let me go, in terms of pure theatrical entertainment and intellectual stimulation. For me Blood, Sweat, and Tears is a visual and aural feast -- I never get tired of watching it.
I've been following the webtoon, and I understand their desire for closure. But the more "factual" and straight forward it's become, the less invested I feel in the ending. I miss the weird journey, the smoke and mirrors. I miss the depth and ethereal quality that reeled me into the storyline. I never wanted it to be simplified or explained away. But logically speaking, they took on a huge commitment to their fans when they introduced the idea of developing a story through their music, and of course there's no way they could ever meet each and every one of our individual expectations. Honestly, I never thought I'd have an intellectual experience through pop music, so I feel like I should just express gratitude to them for giving me this experience and move on to the next, lol. (Although, I'm sure on a personal level the group members would thoroughly enjoy hearing the myriad of theories that their music gave birth to.) ;)
Anyway, I think it's so neat that your dad has been willing to share a piece of your journey with BTS, since it's made such a huge impact in your life, and some of it may have been outside of his comfort zone. I don't have anyone in my orbit to share this strange madness with, so I've been enjoying it vicariously through you and your dad, lol. Thanks so much for doing this!
They put there blood sweat and tears in this song.
Thank you for sharing with us! What a special Dad you have, to share this experience with you. 😊
Love your analysis and discussion with your dad! Green symbolizes the color of Absinthe. The drink RM has and color of smoke are all symbolizing Absinthe that was much enjoyed by impressionist back then. It’s known to create illusion due to the less sophisticated distillation technology.
I love hearing you both talk about theory :3
I’m glad you like it :) It’s fun for us, too!
I’ve appreciated this series so much and I’ll be sad to see it end next video.
I wouldn’t mind if you did the highlight reels; they still have a certain mystique about them that could be interesting to dissect first as a narrative and then again reflecting back on the short films. But I get that it might be too big a shift.
For myself I’ve chosen to appreciate the linear story (since I Need U is certainly story-based) for what it is, but that Young Forever, the short films, and BST represent the same story on another plane. I love that they drive the more lofty ideas and themes home before LY showed up with the concrete answers. And they always have something new to offer with every rewatch, as evidenced by this series!
Don't worry Awsaya, Launa and I are currently planning to tape again this Sunday to extend the series of cameos with me.
Love your series with your Dad and your videos in general! Though I’ve watched the videos many times before, I appreciate seeing it through a new pair of eyes!
Thank you Genny P!
I still have not watched the web tune, so I'm really enjoying your reactions. I'm happy you are going the tour video. Thanks guys😊
Thanks Grace!
Green also symbolizes greed and jealousy.
Your interpretations are enrichting my perspective on this. Greatly appreciated.
I just watched an old video of you guys, and you said in the comments that it's unlikely they'll release a book about the story.. that made me chuckle :D but what I wanted to say is, I'm glad you shared your honest opinion about highlight reels and webtoon, I agree with you. Even though the reels were still enjoyable, I have yet to finish reading the webtoon. I'm scared it will leave me more disappointed than happy to get answers. I was confused when I saw that new hyyh notes are still being released with the Persona albums. I wonder if they will continue with this storyline, or why they still release new notes... we will see. What we say or assume now might turn out to be the complete opposite later, as it happened with you saying they wouldn't release a book or tell the whole story :D one can never predict the steps bighit will take with the BU. I really enjoyed this series with your dad, and I'm looking forward to the "finale" of the wings videos series. I hope you'll do another series with your dad :) It's really enjoyable seeing his point of view, and he said a lot of new things I never thought of. :)
Thank you Elif!
I would love to see your dad reacting to your theory 😅
I agree with the reason you gave for Bighit finally explaining the story but for me, it doesn't stop me from theorizing. The explanation gives a comforting feeling of closure but I don't feel like they are saying "this is it and there is nothing more to this story". The webtoon explained to me the timeline of time traveling, trying to figure that out hurt my head, so I'm thankful that this was explained. It's also helpful for new fans because BTS have so much content that it's very hard to keep up with them if you only get into them now, and very confusing. Even with the existing explanation there are still so many layers to the story.
Out of everything that BTS filmed I can't connect much to highlight reels, it's kind of like I can't believe in what they were trying to show, everything seems very unnatural. For the most obvious example, a girl gets hit by a car and Jin just stares into space, noone would behave like that in such moment. Afterwards - yes, but not at the moment. Strange scenes and unnatural acting.
I enjoy this series very much 👍
Im sad it coming to an end :(
I Would love you to do highlight reels. Honestly idc if the story is "revealed" now i just enjoy your dad thoughts whatever it "correct or not"..and i think it still can be left to interpretation unless "you're a fan" and researched everything😁
but i understand if you don't want to...it also makes me sad a bit like you that (ly era) had too much information ,webtoon etc now that makes it lose a bit of curiosity around it, or just having fun and playing detective. Or seeing how everyone see it differently but now no one can do this because everyone will tell who do ( to just see the webtoon and how they are "incorrect" :/) if they bring new idea
I don't know why big hit took this approach to it? Maybe they got tired of people being confused and asking about it so they were like : (here's the answers can y'all move on now and focus on persona? ) 😂
i do appreciate it a lot dont get me wrong.. but wings remain iconic both visually&musically for me i feel nothing will come close to it for a long time
I love this particular BTS MV because of all the symbolism within it. But for those who don't read widely they'll not get all the different references.
Did you notice what the painting were refering to the first one and the huge one on the wall in the background?
The Quote RM uses, where it come's from and what it refers to? One has to remember RM has an IQ of 148, is heavily influenced by Art, Literature, and Psychology. The all have BA Degree's and RM has his MA Degree I know the others were studying for the Masters but I'm not sure who else has gained theirs yet.
One could write a whole academic paper on this one MV
I personally think that the cloth over V in the Mv is
the thin veil covering all the pain and sadness that is also suffocating him
but I could be wrong
Looking forward next video
