Hiding isn't too much of a problem (until the hunter gets the favor and poof your disguise is gone and that light telegraphs your location) It's hunting I have problems with. But my new strategy is to go AFK and wait for the rebels to come to me. I've found that they can't resist checking out what is going on and you can get at least one if not all at the last second. It's funny just standing there while chairs and boxes dance and jump around you trying to goat you into moving.

a little something i found out the hard way; if you're not going to be a prop, you should probably stick to characters who have a darker color scheme, like xinyan or zhongli. maps like winery confrontation (day), drifters in the terrace depths (day), and the pearl of sango, though, you should have a character with a lighter color scheme, like ganyu or kokomi.
Alternatively I went for Collei as a rebel in a Sumeru map, camouflaging myself in the bushes with her cabbagehead color scheme and was the last one alive while never turning myself into a prop (even stole a favor in the process) unfortunately my phone died because it couldn't handle my gamer skillz

I had a really good spot in the dawn winery map, if you turn into a lamp and climb onto the balcony, if you keep climbing you can head to a spot that has light and vines covering it, it’s a small window that makes you nearly invisible at first glance, i didn’t even get caught once.
My faint presence rebel strategy at 5am because I don't touch grass Dawn winery: rooftop if inexperienced hunter, Candace sitting on bench Liyue abandoned rocky map thing: between the rock wall and the broken pillar, characters on the wall near leaves Liyue village: trees and roofs Liyue yellowish village: trees and roofs, under stairs Konda village: Sara/Candace on top of flying flag pillars, sayu under the houses Sangonomiya: kokomi+roof/entrance Sumeru: hide on top of the green roof, move accordingly to the hunters' angle so they can't see you Sumeru village: NPC characters+upper part of the map, under bridge If hunter sees you don't use invisibility immediately, while they chase you trick them into a direction and make a sharp turn back with invisibility Hunter tips: wet status=water bodies
All fun and games until you encounter a hunter who smashes the capture button repeatedly as often as humanly possible and accidentally catch you without even knowing where the hell you are (aka me) 💀
On Dawn Winery, there is a spot where you can hide on a tree. The only part of the tree that's in the zone: the branch. (and yes the leaves will cover you) When you spawn: Go east and hug the wall until you find the tree next to some buildings. Takes some practice to get up there :) I was really lucky to find it as I was scouring for No Disguise locations.
I usually use the character where there outfit matches the location, like kokomi and the watatsumi island she blends in very well so maybe it will be harder to find?
Just yesterday I was with a Miko (I was Childe) and we both had the same hiding spot which is the stone path which we hid in the whole of to blend in and it was hilarious. The favour came down right in front of us so I quickly went to grab it even though the Hunter was there too but looking the opposite way. It was an amazing experience lmao
For pearl of sango I like climbing the back of the sign where the hunter starts, they cannot see you unless they go behind it and look directly up which they dont
I was playing wind trace as the Hunter and someone managed to glitch the barrier so that I could see them jumping just inside it, I jumped back but got them immediately after the game started and apparently I was the first Tartaglia main to do that, or just the first to get them straight away in general? I felt like the other players were low key making fun of me after that, they were like ‘look at the fatui, trying so hard’ and it kinda ruined my whole day. I mean, I’m the Hunter, and I’m terrible at being the Hunter, why make it harder for myself by letting them get away?! I won the match but felt guilty for no reason. Sorry for the rant, I just had to get it off my chest
Ugh players like that often show up and ruins the fun of the game, I usually try to not let it get to me if their being mean. I try to be nice despite if someone is trying to brake me or hurt me in a game cause they're salty or cocky
Some players are just childish like that, most of them are children or preteens that make fun of people for trying too hard, too little, for being less skilled, etc, not all of them are mature yet (some don't even grow to be mature at all tbh) so honestly try to not take them seriously. In the end, everyone you're playing windtrace with is mostly strangers who add absolutely zero value in your life and whose opinion doesn't matter, even less if it's about a game of hide and seek that's going to be gone in a couple of weeks and take months if not a year to come back Don't feel guilty, no shame in trying too hard or too little, do what's fun for you and that's that. Only thing people should feel shame for in the game is when they mock strangers for meaningless things and make them feel bad

In city of yore concealed, I like to hide on top of the arch thats on the upper level. for some reason hunters don't check there/see you? I've won on that thing many times without even using a disguise. For drifters of the terrace depths, i hide behind the house that you spawn right next to! Hunters rarely ever check there, and if they do happen to you can also just get onto the cliff and they won't see you!
In the sumeru map water runners you can climb to the cliff and disguise yourself or that little crack between the houses at the northern part of the area. It’s best to use a green/brown color schemed character. I never once got caught but it’s also noted that I won as a hunter in that map over and over again.
Kinda sad that they didn't put up the Ritou map. Back then my fav place to hide was on top of the giant Maple tree using either Yoimiya or Kazuha then just afk, helped a lot for getting points for not turning into an object & I barely got caught in that map
the thing is, I always use childe and done transform. the best tip is just to go somewhere even a little high. I never get found even while standing in the open and just running around lol

I love to climb to the windmill rooftop, you can watch the hunter's movement from above, and it's almost impossible to get caught cause even if the hunter climbs up you can immediately fly away

One time I trolled a hunter who activated Insight, man saw me taunting him after all the other rebels got captured (btw it was around 30 secs left) so when I saw him climbing it I just gone to a nearby rooftop and chilled inside the chimney with 5 secs remaining Probably the best achievement I ever did.
In winary confrontation, theres is one area of grape vine rack next to a lamp post. Turn into a small lamp and go under the rack until you disappear into the sand
In the City of Yored concealed I literally just climb to the very top of that little tower with steps (the highest point on the map) and chill lol. I don't even disguise myself. The Favor usually spawns either right near me or I just fly to it from my advantage point.

I always "hide" up there, one time I even cooped with my friend and when she got the favor I flew down, I got imprisoned mid air but heh, she couldn't figure out how to go up there so I just watched her Wanderer panicking below me
the favor isn't as broken as people think it is, sure you can use it to find the rebels or escape the hunter but if you have an amazing hiding spot then your all good, for instance with sacrosanct dominion behind where the hunter spawns there's a tree and if you go to the left of the map, climb up the giant tree stuff you can glide to the top of the tree, its an amazing place

For 2:24 theres a other hiding spot. Its full of plants, nature and stuff. The other hiding spot is in the plants. If youwanna be risky you can hide i that one plant near the hunter
For the sacrosanct map, go to the ledges between the wall of samiel, be a prop and go into the smallest nook you can. The hunter was literally besides me and kept spamming capture but can’t capture me cause my scara can’t turn back to his original form because of being stuck lmao
There are so many genuinely clever places to hide…..except against hunters who spam the capture button everywhere and will probably just happen to catch someone in a great spot ‘cause they blindly hit capture when running past
I found the #1 by accident and was so proud of it that I even wrote "my hiding spot is perfect 😎" in the chat but in the end I was caught when the hunter got favor🤣
In deeper tides, I just become the small tree and then I hide into a big tree. Trust me, it works when the hunter doesn’t pay attention to the big trees. If the hunter does, you’ll probs get out because the small tree is a different color than the big trees. But I’ve had many hunters walk by me
If there’s a tree in the map I would climb to the top where the leaves are and then hide as something small like a lamp or something. I normally always win even if they get a favor but not guaranteed
I became a qiqi hunter in water-runners and it was a total nightmareuntil I told them that the rebels that I won't catch will be marked with qiqi curse next banner. turns out 2 of them doesn't want qiqi curse and I used imprisoning for the last one (probably has the guarantee).
for winery, i hide at the roof. even when the hunter got favor, i still stay on the roof. but after the last seconds, the hunter finally go to the roof so i run and got into this place 😂
1: I've admittedly not run into anybody hiding in these spots, but I think I coudl find them. >:3 2: I have found ppl trying to hide here before, a few times. >.> 3: The same as two, tho usually ppl just try to hide on the tallest spire of the building. lol 4: The bush is a good play, but dangerous since you can just randomly get tagged. xD But haven't seen anyone try it yet. 5: Not gonna lie, this is my go to spot, too. lol 6: Another dangerous bush. lol I prefer to sit on the little roof over the side door as a lantern. xD 7: Lantern is the best hiding option on this map, but it is also the reason I check every lantern as hunter. lol Would've caught you being so close to another lantern, tho it would've been an accident. lol 8: That's a standard hiding spot, especially for small characters. Another is the vines on the other side of the arch. xD I will either be a tree in the lower tree OR I'll hang off the left cliff at start until hunter leaves, then climb the house. 9: My worst map, admittedly. xD I'm terrible at this one, but so far, simply rotating around the cloth part of the big tent's spire has worked wonders for me. 10: LOL Same idea, different tree for me. 11: Veteran Windtrace hunters will check these every time. xD But that hay bale is just the right size to hide in the bushes on top of the smaller cliff. :) 12: Most ppl climb the tall house and everyone scatters like rats from a sinking ship the second the hunter climbs up. xD Most the time, I'm sitting across, on top of the small house, watching them panic, as I move about the roof to avoid being seen. xD
Last time was my first wind trace and for the life of me I could not figure out how to use the disguise, So I just got creative and scouted a bunch of spots I could hide in without them and what characters blended in best. Then I discovered you could change not stuff near the end of the event and felt so silly.
Actually there is a “cheat” during the hiding phase, hunters can see high places especially during day. So the hiding place in beneath the somewhere is a no go

I will say this as a hunter everytime, I use the net hunter just to detect rebel and find them. Most of the time I caught rebel easily, people underestimate the power of net hunter.
Yesterday I was hiding in Dawn Winery and I went behind the building and there are some tables and chairs and behind them there are barrels so I transformed into a lamp and jumped on the barrel no one found me
One time I saw a Raiden just sitting on a roof chilling until her pet MIKO COMES UP and use her kitsune powers to lock her in that space where she stays 24/7 :D XD 😂
In the third map (gold beyond the grains) I usually go to hide behind the buliding. There are plants hanging from the wall, which are a good place to hide. You turn into a flowerpot, get as close to the wall as possible and you already have the perfect hiding place. Thank me later.

At 8:50 , i went all the way to the top of the roof and hid as that small thing lol it fits perfectly there

For the sacrosanct map, go to the ledges between the wall of samiel, be a prop and go into the smallest nook you can. The hunter was literally besides me and kept spamming capture but can’t capture me cause my scara can’t turn back to his original form because of being stuck lmao

There are so many genuinely clever places to hide…..except against hunters who spam the capture button everywhere and will probably just happen to catch someone in a great spot ‘cause they blindly hit capture when running past

In deeper tides, I just become the small tree and then I hide into a big tree. Trust me, it works when the hunter doesn’t pay attention to the big trees. If the hunter does, you’ll probs get out because the small tree is a different color than the big trees. But I’ve had many hunters walk by me
If there’s a tree in the map I would climb to the top where the leaves are and then hide as something small like a lamp or something. I normally always win even if they get a favor but not guaranteed

At the spring vale map I always hide at the top of the roof at the middle tower. I can see everything up there

I became a qiqi hunter in water-runners and it was a total nightmareuntil I told them that the rebels that I won't catch will be marked with qiqi curse next banner. turns out 2 of them doesn't want qiqi curse and I used imprisoning for the last one (probably has the guarantee).
for winery, i hide at the roof. even when the hunter got favor, i still stay on the roof. but after the last seconds, the hunter finally go to the roof so i run and got into this place 😂

1: I've admittedly not run into anybody hiding in these spots, but I think I coudl find them. >:3
2: I have found ppl trying to hide here before, a few times. >.>
3: The same as two, tho usually ppl just try to hide on the tallest spire of the building. lol
4: The bush is a good play, but dangerous since you can just randomly get tagged. xD But haven't seen anyone try it yet.

6: Another dangerous bush. lol I prefer to sit on the little roof over the side door as a lantern. xD
7: Lantern is the best hiding option on this map, but it is also the reason I check every lantern as hunter. lol Would've caught you being so close to another lantern, tho it would've been an accident. lol
8: That's a standard hiding spot, especially for small characters. Another is the vines on the other side of the arch. xD I will either be a tree in the lower tree OR I'll hang off the left cliff at start until hunter leaves, then climb the house.
9: My worst map, admittedly. xD I'm terrible at this one, but so far, simply rotating around the cloth part of the big tent's spire has worked wonders for me.
10: LOL Same idea, different tree for me.
11: Veteran Windtrace hunters will check these every time. xD But that hay bale is just the right size to hide in the bushes on top of the smaller cliff. :)
12: Most ppl climb the tall house and everyone scatters like rats from a sinking ship the second the hunter climbs up. xD Most the time, I'm sitting across, on top of the small house, watching them panic, as I move about the roof to avoid being seen. xD

Last time was my first wind trace and for the life of me I could not figure out how to use the disguise, So I just got creative and scouted a bunch of spots I could hide in without them and what characters blended in best. Then I discovered you could change not stuff near the end of the event and felt so silly.
Actually there is a “cheat” during the hiding phase, hunters can see high places especially during day. So the hiding place in beneath the somewhere is a no go
It’s all fun and games until someone who saw this video becomes the hunter
For Sacrosanct Dominion I found an even better place. I keep winning as rebel with no disguise and I don't even need to move when marked :)

I will say this as a hunter everytime, I use the net hunter just to detect rebel and find them. Most of the time I caught rebel easily, people underestimate the power of net hunter.

Yesterday I was hiding in Dawn Winery and I went behind the building and there are some tables and chairs and behind them there are barrels so I transformed into a lamp and jumped on the barrel no one found me
I also found a crack right by the entrance for the Deeper tides map and no one ever found me
At pearl sango just run around bridge , you will win, I try it after catch light, and enemy always try fly over lake

I discovered that the first day and was like "OMG yes, deselecting the map where I always get stuck trying to climb out of holes"
In the third map (gold beyond the grains) I usually go to hide behind the buliding. There are plants hanging from the wall, which are a good place to hide. You turn into a flowerpot, get as close to the wall as possible and you already have the perfect hiding place. Thank me later.

interesting fact: if you position yourself right then thrown hunter nets wont detect you
